    My husband and I had an issue with standing water in our backyard. I posted a picture of our yard in the ************** The Renovation Room. *********************** of Shades of Green Landscaping LLC in-boxed me and could give us an estimate on Feb 10. We decided to go with ****. We were to get a French drain on both sides of our yard, replacement sod, and a sprinkler system in the back and front yard. He sent us an estimate. He wanted to get started ASAP so we paid our deposit of $9,500 on Feb 20. The contract stated that he would start on April 1st and be done on the 30th. I spoke with him the last week of March he said he had purchased supplies and was good to go. He stated that he could not work due to the rain and his dad was in the hospital. He then stated that the village was giving him a hard time getting a permit for work and he needed to change the scope of work, which did not include half of the supplies and equipment needed. I asked for an updated contract and estimate. He stated that he would but never did. **** dropped 2 workers off at our home to till the entire backyard so that he could begin his work; the workers did this for two days and did not return until 4 days later to pick up those bags of dirt. A few days went by with no contact. I contacted **** and asked when he planned on finishing our yard, and he stated the end of May; that was unacceptable. I then told him I was uncomfortable with his work and that he had already breached his contract because the work was not completed by the end of April. He then emailed my husband and me, stating he did not have enough money to complete the job. At that point, we demanded our money back; ****, at this point, provided me with a new estimate that basically stated it cost him $8500 for the work he completed and that he would return $1000 to us. After going back and forth with him, we tried to set up a payment plan to return our money, with no success.

    We hired Shades of Green Landscaping LLC to install rocks at 2 entry ways for the Trails of **************. He was paid $7200 to purchase 25 tons of rocks. No rocks were ever purchased or installed. The Landscaper had provided excuse after excuse but has not refunded our money. The total job was going to be $9700 dollars and he received a $6000 deposit to purchase rock and need an additional $1200 due to change in rock selection. So he received $7200 in August of ************************************************ follow up with us regarding the rocks.
