I paid in full for bankruptcy, I filled out paperwork a few times & took a course online. My lawyer changed a few times. the Business closed down, I got a letter saying I'd get a refund and I still haven't gotten any money back. I reached out to the last lawyer they gave me, he told me that he didn't have any paperwork for me & the company is closed down so I'm just out the money. Over $2000!!! Now my wages are being garnished! I can't afford to pay for another bankruptcy & once again I'm out $2000 with nothing to show for itInitial Complaint

I hired Upright Law to file bankruptcy the cost was $2000.00 I made payments over 10 months from January 2022 until October 2022 Therefore once paid in full the were to start my bankruptcy process. I had forms to fill out, which were completed. I had spoke to a person a couple times. They were gathering information to proceed. On 5/18/23 I get a notice the firm closed but a lawyer Jason ******* will finish my case. He had me fill out multiple questionnaires and provide extensive financial information, which I completed and sent to him. I also took an online course and sent completed form. Once again I think my case is in progress. October 2023 I reach out to Jason ******* to ask about the progress of my case, he responded I needed to complete all the information requested. I was surprised that he hadnt even reviewed what I sent him. I replied that everything was completed months ago. In December 2023 he had a change of contact information. I contacted him and then he needed updated bank records, which I sent. The end of January 2024 I contacted him again about the progress of my case. I after back and forth contact I was told I had to retake the online course because it was only good for 6 months. I was a bit upset about that to him its only $25.00 but I am disabled on a fixed income. Then I was told I needed to get an appraisal of my house which was a couple hundred dollars. Originally I was told they would use a figure from sources like Zillow Every time I complete something he adds on more. Im not sure what I paid for when I am doing all the work. After that last conversation I had family issues my brothers wife suddenly passed away and my multiple health issues and appointments. I got a letter dated April 28 *************************************** ten months he is not going to file my case and returned my filing fee of $338.00. I paid all that money and did all the work except appraisal which I had difficulty getting no what? What did I pay for?Initial Complaint

1/15/2022 I started making weekly payments to Upright law, in the amount of $40. I finally paid the total amount and called them to let them know I wanted them to file. They told me my case was cancelled and I would receive a refund in 30 days, I did receive $100 and that was all that was returned to me out of the $2,030.00. I struggled to pay this and now the creditors are detaching my wages because they failed to file my bankruptcy for me or return my money so I can pay someone else to do this.Initial Complaint

I hired upright law for Bankruptcy and paid over $3000. I couldn't finish paying because I am disabled and have a lot of creditors on me everyday. I couldn't finish paying in the time frame allowed over a year and I can't get a refund. I dot think they really want to help anybody. I was paying them over $300 a month and that's more than my car payment. Now I am about to loose everything cause they have all my money. I am a disabled Veteran and they don't even care.
