I am filing this complaint against *************************** Balance Credit, and National Debt Holdings. A fraudulent account was opened in my name and reported to ********** under Balance Credit. This account is a result of identity theft. I have never opened or authorized this account, and I have filed a police report and identity theft affidavit. Despite my clear communication to ************************** that I am a victim of identity theft, their representatives (****** ****** and ***** London) continued to pursue payment and sent additional communications via text message and phone calls after I asked them to stop. They failed to verify my identity at the beginning of the call and refused to provide timely documentation or a physical mailing address for the company. In addition, I was quoted a debt of $3,099, which is significantly higher than the $2,007 listed on my TransUnion credit report suggesting potential misrepresentation or deceptive practices. This situation has caused emotional distress, damaged my credit, and harmed my reputation. I am demanding the immediate removal of this account from my credit report and appropriate corrective action by all parties involved. Failure to comply will result in ongoing legal action. I have already filed complaints with the ************************ (***), the Consumer Financial ***************** (CFPB), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I am also preparing to initiate a civil lawsuit against all parties involvedincluding the credit bureausfor violations of federal consumer protection laws, emotional distress, and credit harm. Please govern yourselves accordingly. I am including a copy of my police report, affidavit of identity theft, and the credit report screenshot showing the false listing for your reference.A response and confirmation of deletion is required immediately and upon receipt of this notice.Thank you.

I received a loan from Balance Credit on 10/22/24 and have now realized that ******* is using a "rent-a-bank" scheme with this loan as they are charging usury rates of interest which are higher than what is allowed in my state. Not only that, but this lender is also not licensed in *******, which is where I reside.I have attached documentation of what interest rate this company is charging me as well as what is legally allowed in my state, which they knew where I lived as it was on my loan application and agreement. I would like to know what they're going to do to resolve this issue. I am $12 away from paying off the principal completely and because they are not licensed in my state, I'm legally not required to pay the principal nor the interest. However, I will pay the remaining $12 and would like this account closed.

A letter was received in the mail that does not address the complaint - just further tries to explain the legitimacy of the company. Unfortunately, ******, **********************, SunUp Financial, and whatever other names the company wishes to go by are not on Indiana's listing for lenders licensed in the state...not even on the suspended or revoked. If they're not a licensed lender in my state, how is this legal? Pretty sure if you're lending money in a state, you need a lender's license to legally do so.

I borrowed 3000 and fell behind on payments. They reached out to me to settle and now want me to pay $5000.00 which is ridiculous and a total ripoff. I told them that if they really wanted to settle, they would not try to take advantage of people. The person on the phone stated that they were not trying to take advantage of me and I told them I totally disagree. I wish to have no further contact with them as they are unscrupulous scam artists.

I contacted them 4 times to explain that I DO NOT have nor have I ever applied for a loan with them.  Each time the **** located in the ***********, following a script and NOT listening to understandwould not give me any information unless I provided them with social security, birthdate, etc info.  If I feel I do not have an account with them, why would I provide this.

update:  since my original complaint, I have found record of their scam loan on my trans union credit report and at least now I know the scam Loan was opened on 2/25.  I want to see the original application. I want to see a signature that I never provided. Most importantly, where is the Money? What did they do with it? I never received a check nor a direct deposit!  I have issued a dispute with the credit bureau which informs me that balance credit is NOT responding to them.

having retired from banking after a 30 year career I do not take this lightly and I will NOT be taken in by this fraud and or identity theft!

I am rejecting this response because: Hello

I did respond last time as soon as you sent an update?  In any case, thank you for your email.  Please know this matter, has not been resolved. Balance credit said they would contact me within five days which they did not. They still will not release any information to me regarding where an application is, prove they have my signature, and most importantly what they did with the money because they never transferred it to me via check or EFT. The only update I have is that apparently someone made a payment to the loan. Originally they had sent me an email stating I was past due with a payment and I contacted them to tell them that I did not have a loan with them. Now they seem to show through *********** that a payment has now been posted. I guess whoever is scamming them is making the payments.

The business is contacting me telling me that I have an overdue balance for a loan that I did not receive. The loan has my name and old address and information but the bank account that it was sent to is not mine. I never signed anything or asked for a loan from them. I am attaching something that they state i signed on 5/3/2025. It is only 3/19/2025 today. This is a scam and I do not want it affecting my credit. I want them to stop contacting me and to remove the supposed debt that they claim I owe.

The business is Balance Credit. The date of the transaction is: 10.28.2024. It is a $3,000 at a 24% interest rate. The company demanded a payment within less than a month of the transaction. Obviously, the loan was for a reason, and the short repayment demand was unreasonable and, I believe, financially unethical. There have multiple complaints to the BBB about this company. The interest rate moved from 24% to ******%. This company committed to a short-term, affordable loan. The company promotes an understanding, compassionate approach to people needing the loan requested. Fair terms are also promoted. The main issue is that a $3,000 loan now bears $6,899.80 finance charge. This a fine print, a deceptive contract that takes advantage of people in need. The company is also charging interest daily at this escalated interest rate.I have called the company complaining about the matter. I ask for resolution, and I was refused.I need help resolving this. I have refused to pay them based on these facts.

I received a loan from this company October 2020, I became delinquent due to issues during COVID and some personal issues. It was sent to collections in 2021 and I began payments but fell behind on that. Now in 2025 I received a text saying I received a 45 notice for a case in November (never received anything) I called and they first told me it was for someone else and then stated it was for me and they were going to sue me over this debt but if I paid it they wouldnt. I didnt want to get sued so I went ahead and set up a payment plan. After calming down I realized they are threatening to sue me over a debt that in the state of ************** (where i applied and got the loan) has a statute of limitations of 3 years of last payment the last payment I made on this account is 07/2021 so they wouldve had to sue me by 07/2024 and did not. I received no documentation about this debt since *************************************************************************************************************************** 2021 the balance was $2045.87 and I paid $490.99 to the debt collector and now they are saying the balance is $3300.57. I have reported them to the **** as threatening to sue for debt and their business tactics, the representative didnt even want to reveal any information about this debt or the company he was calling for just stated he was representing SunUp Financial.

On 12/5/2024 I received an email from this company in reference to a loan they are saying I applied for. I responded promptly telling them that I did not apply to not process any loan. They responded saying that the email address I was emailing from is different then the one on my account (an account I do not have). I hit REPLY TO from the email they sent me, therefore they had to have me email. I called and spent 22 minutes on the phone trying to make sure they do not process a loan with my information and they continue to tell me they do not have any record of my email and that there are too many ****** ******** to locate by name. How can they harass people in this manner.
