I spent well over $700 for their real estate broker program 2 years ago and was told Id be able to access the program and guaranteed by ******************** given my situation. At the time I was running a business and attending schooo but definitely wanted to pursue real estate when I had enough time. I told Art my situation, he even gave me his personal phone number and assured me if I paid for the course in advance I wouldnt be restricted and can complete the requirements at anytime. I reached out to him last week and never heard back and Im out well over $700. If this isnt resolved here I will be attaching a copy of this complaint and associating it to their ****** listing and all social media where they advertise. I feel ripped off, and ignored so if I lose the money I will see to it that all future students of theirs are aware of my situation.

I am attaching **************** receipt showing his registration date (12/30/19) and class date and time as well as his payment amount ($547). The facts of his complaint are incorrect.
Our registration policy has changed since 2020 and the pandemic. We now give students one year to complete their course with us.

I have gone through my email inbox and have the registration email from our system (Kartra), and an email from ************ on 12/30/19 indicating that he thought this was an Online course. That's the last email I have until 3/3/22 which is a copy of the one he sent to Art's email listed below.

I have also attached a screenshot of the emails from and to ************ from Art ********, our Lead Instructor, in Art's email box. These are the total of the emails between them. I am including the email chain between the two of them for your reference in a separate email.

As you will see here is the conversation:

3/3/22: Art received an email from ************ asking about the ability to complete the course
3/4/22: Art responded and let ************ know that while we DID change the policy (and told him the 1 year policy)  that we would give him the balance of 2022 to finish the course (9+ months). Art mentioned that the book had changed and he would need to purchase the new Ebook for $50. *** also directed him to let us know which class he wanted to attend.
3/4/22: ************ indicated he wanted to do it from home and how to purchase the Ebook
3/4/22: Art responded and gave him the link to our website and asked him to let us know which class he wanted to attend. Art also included the link to purchase the Ebook.
3/4/22: ************ indicated that the course is self-paced (which is one of the options available to our students)
3/6/22: ************ purchased the ebook for $50 (see email receipt to be sent in separate email)
3/7/22: ************ emailed asking where his Ebook was.
3/7/22: Art emailed our General Manager, ********************* and asked that he send ************ his ebook.
3/8/22: Dakota emailed the redemption code for the ebook to ************. (see email to be sent in separate email)

NO other email or telephone conversation was had with ************ for the balance of 2022 or 2023. He did not email us with a choice of classes that he wanted to attend in 2022 and as such his extension to the end of 2022 concluded.

2/22/24: ************ reached out to Art indicating he never got the real estate license because he decided to go back to ********************** and wanted to take the class now. Art did not see that email when it came in and subsequently didn't respond.

We believe that we have acted in good faith with regard to ************. We gave him an extension to allow him to complete his course work with us even though it had been two years from his registration. For your information students are usually able to complete the 75 Hour Broker Pre-License course requirements between two to four weeks depending on if a student chooses our day or night class. The additional nine months given to ************ in March of 2022 were more than adequate for him to complete the course.

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Thank you,
    ****

    Complaint: 21358108

I am rejecting this response because:

how is it fair that you lure me in this program knowing my circumstances, and agree to give me unlimited time but a year later change the policy? The point is you and I had an agreement for which you agreed to in your response and are now backtracking our original agreement by saying you changed a policy. If Im not refunded in full or given the ability to take this course as we originally agreed, on my time whenever I want, my next set of complaints will include this complaint which also highlights your admission to fault. Complaints will be sent to IDFPR, ******** attorney general. A full copy of this complaint will be posted on social media such as ********* ** ********** Pictures of this complaint will also be posted to your ****** listing, yelp, and any other organization you may drive traffic from. Increasing awareness for the protection of others is my first amendment right and I will see to it thay every single student is aware of this complaint before becoming a victim like me.

    Sincerely,

    *****************

After further consideration, we have decided to honor our original agreement and grant **************** request to come back to class any time he would like. All of our live classes are being conducted via Zoom with a live Instructor. He will also be able to use the Online Homestudy course if he chooses, which covers the first 60 hours of the course. He will have to attend the Interactive portion of the course which is the last 15 hours of the course, live via Zoom. He just needs to notify the school by emailing ****@ILoveRealEstate School.com and let us know which class he would like to attend. He can check the class schedule on our website and let us know ahead of the class. We look forward to helping ************ pass the State Exam.
