    07/25/2022

A person named ***************************** booked our restaurant at ********************** for a "corporate brunch" on Saturday 7/16/2022 through an event space rental company called Peerspace.com we have worked with for over 5 years. On Tuesday 7/12/22, we were reached out by Sgt. ***** 001 District *************** ***************** regarding this event and that we needed to ensure the event complied with all laws and *************** protocols. I of course took this very seriously and and let the space renter ***************************** know what the police told me. The main thing they needed was a *************** caterer license with an alcohol license. We made it clear to ****** we wanted his event to be successful and were there to help in anyway, but we needed what the Police made clear they required because our business license was at-stake, per the policies communication.

After repeated requests for the license he finally attempted to provide what the city requested on Friday (day before the event). I then called the caterer he provided to ask if she had any questions about our space and to ensure everything would be fine for the event (the next day). At this point, it seemed like we were on our way however, at 3:30pm~ ****** called me threatened to *** me, called me names, and verbally abused me and our business. I am unaware of why ****** became aggressive but it seemed he hit a road block or was not prepared for his event. Immediately, I informed Sgt. ***** that the event was cancelled and we were no longer in contact with the leader of the event. Unfortunately, ****** became very upset at me and our business and escalated his behavior. He first sent me an "intent to ***" letter (attached) and his anger grew to harass our team members via phone and on ******** (examples attached), over 10 harassment incidents on my family members ******** pages, my fathers business in ****, my aunts business in ****, other friends of mine, and even posted on a former employer of my wife (a middle school in Lakeview, *******) on ******** page calling my wife and I racists and that he wouldnt stop until the world knows. On Sunday 7/17, at 11:31am he or a member of his group called our ******** Suite 109 location and spoke with our Training Manager. They started threatening her and said they would be protesting and will in less vulgar words mess things up tomorrow" at both Brightwok Kitchen locations. He threatened our stores and our employees and customers.

We take this incredibly serious and have been in contact with the police regarding this individual. We also have been in direct communication with: Peerspace and the **************** regarding the physical threats and phone and ******** harassment. We also hired temporary security on 7/20 to ensure our team was safe from any violence.

We have never dealt with this type of threats or aggression towards our business and have been open for almost 8 years as a small business in *******. Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this compliant.
