They came to my house and did a roofing inspection and told me my roof was damaged from hail storm. ******** said I would not have to pay deductible and that they would use other damages on the house such as the gutters to cover the deductible. Insurance looked at the roof and said there was no damage. but there was damage to the siding. Ameripro came back out and said that the sales man did know what he was talking about and there was no damage on the roof. ******** had me sign a contract when he first came out but did not show me the back page before signing. On the back page there is a cancellation fee disclosed. I felt like they hid this from me.. I chose to not have them fix the siding because i lost faith in them after being misled about the roof. Now they are trying to collect a cancellation fee that was not disclosed to me during the original conversation. The cancellation fee should have been disclosed unless they are hiding something.

A representative by the name of ****** was soliciting through our neighborhood to do roof replacements. I thought this was a great opportunity since I have had damage and reached out to my *** (home owners association) and was told that these repairs were the home owners responsibility. To make a long story short, I got approval through the insurance company. Got approval from the *** as long as the shingle colors matched and/or came close to my adjoining neighbors. ****** knew this as he was told by one of the officers of the *** Board. A color was selected and when it arrived to my home, I text ****** and informed him that this color DEFINITELY does not come close to the neighbors. This was May 30, 2024. I was told that it could take a couple of days before they would come and to the work. The VERY next day (May 31, 2024) they had contractors tearing up my roof and putting up the wrong color shingles. This was a rush job as they did not even get the payment from the insurance company yet and the color was not APPROVED by the *** and therefore, my home is now non-compliant due to the color. We reached out to ****** and he came out and saw that the color was NO WHERE close to my neighbors. He said that they had the color but it would cost more money. The *** has contacted me several times informing me that I am non-compliant and threatening me with fines and fees. I am being charged $15,920.07 for a roof that I can not have. I was issued a payment in the amount of $6575.00 from the insurance company. I had to put a stop payment on the check because it appears as though I will have to go with a different roofing company since they refuse to rectify the problem. I am asking that they come put up the APPROVED colored shingles before I make payment. If they refuse to replace the incorrect shingles, I am asking that I not have to pay for the job since it has to be done all over again. There's no way I can pay $30,000.00.

*** lived in my house for 3 years before a wind storm took my shingles off. I never had any problems with my roof, ceiling or ventilation ever. I contracted Ameripro to replace the roof. One year later, my whole ceiling is black and falling apart. Ameripro refuses to take responsibility and I hired an independent roofer to inspect it and he came up with a laundry list of deficiencies. Primarily, the roof was not installed to manufacturers specifications. Ameripro claims that because the city of ******** signed off on this that they dont have to take responsibility. However, the independent roofer said that manufacturers specifications trumps local code. This was clearly not built to manufacturers specifications.Because I chose Ameripro instead of an honest, reputable, and experienced company, my whole ceiling is deteriorating. My ceiling is turning black and now I need to replace not only the roof but the structure of my house. Ive never had any problems with my ceiling before and because of Ameripro Roofings negligence my whole house is falling apart. They dont care about the consumer, the homeowner.I now have a tenant there with 4 small children who are suffering the consequences of this negligence. We need Ameripro Roofing to redo the whole roof in accordance with Maufafrurers specifications, AND to repair (or pay out the cost) the consequential damages to the structure of my house and ceiling that were caused as a result of their negligence. My independent roofer was on the phone while Aneripros roofers came out to inspect the damage. My roofer caught Ameripro in lie after lie after lie. Based on the lies, he told me to contact a lawyer immediately because this company is extremely shady and unethical. My insurance company wont cover this again and we need to go with a lawyer to draft a legal notice stating we that they need to fix this and they are in the wrong or else we are going to court.

No sufficient documentation was provided. The roofers need to follow manufacturer guidelines. There should be an instruction manual and warranty details provided. Specifically as it relates to the proper ventilation. All that was provided was a link to the manufacturers website and marketing materials.

      Complaint: 21814678

I am rejecting this response because:

Because Ameripro has failed to install a roof properly, I have experienced immense financial loss that is destroying my life.

      Series of events:

      1. I lived in my house for many years, without ANY problems to my roof.
      2. Ameripro, with their predatory sales tactics, entices me, (at the time) a single young woman with zero knowledge about roofing, to get a new roof by them.
      3. One year after this brand new $22,000 roof is installed, my ceiling turns black and is reported to me by the tenant.
      4. I contact Ameripro to fix this issue and compensate me for the  damages they refuse and say that I am running the furnace too high. This is DISPICABLE

      5. After speaking with lawyers they tell me to check for mold immediately. I had mold tests done and inspectors come out and they said there is water coming from the roof in the form of a leak and they have to remove 50 square feet of ceiling, clean it, and then I have to pay to replace the damage.

      6. I had to evict my tenant and his wife and 4 children, and pay for them to live in a hotel for a month which cost me $4250

      7. I have to pay for a commercial permit before I can start the work on removing the mold which costs $500. I had to pay for inspections which cost $380. The work of cutting out the mold is $4600, the air testing after work is complete will cost $550, and the replacement cost of the roof will be over $10,000.

      8. I am now 7 months pregnant, who is now being forced to pay over $20k in damages because of Ameripro. This is a national company with all the resources to fix the problem and compensate for all my damages. Me, a simple homeowner with a child on the way, is now facing total financial ruin because of Ameripro. I am an American citizen who has been taken advantage of by a corporation that is single handedly ruining my life and the life of my unborn daughter.

I am asking that Ameripro send me a check for $21,000 for all the damage that has happened to my house. I am also demanding that they fix the roof and install all proper shingles to ensure my roof doesnt leak. I also demand that they make sure my roof is properly inspected by a third party (paid for by them) to make sure their shingles arent blocking proper ventilation that can cause future damage to my home.

Its is the BBBs responsibility to protect the public from evil and predatory companies. I am simply a regular homeowner with a baby on the way, and this vicious company has destroyed my life, my equity, my savings, and my rental income. I need to be compensated by this major corporation who has ALL the resources to make this right.

      Sincerely,

      *************************

We hired Ameripro Roofing to do our approved insurance claim ( storm damage). The insurance claim was every detailed/coded as to what was approved for the amount release. We handed all monies that our insurance company released ( signed checks) to Ameripro. These funds included all new roofing on our home (including enclosed patio), all new siding, and a select gutter/ downspouts. Ameripro has yet to shingle my patio roof or replace select ******************** that have already been paid for by my insurance company. On top of this company not finishing paid for work - Ameripro damaged 3 additional gutters with their ladders while replacing my roof. That have yet to be remedied. I have gone back and forth with this for almost a year. I have spoke/ emailed *************************** who are higher in the company and they've stop returning my emails. I have given them ample time to FINISH paid for services AND replace my property that they've damage. All top of all of this - Ameripro is harassing me by texting my phone multiple times a week demanding that I still owe them money when I paid my $1000 deducible - that was the only agreed amount that I was to pay. I had numerous phone call conversations between ************************* insurance regarding this balance ( failed coding on Ameripro behalf). At this time I want all my money for these UNFINISHED repairs & an agreed amount for the damages done to my property by Ameripro issued to myself (*******************). Furthermore, I'll be leaving my experience on all platforms to warn customers of this terrible customer service - As I am a homeschooling mother of 6 young children and this has taken far too much of my time away from what's truly important.

Ameripro was hired to replace my roof due to hail damage via insurance claim. They are charging me $15,739.78, however my insurance company approved and paid me $13,015.58(plus my $1000 deductable) which is a $1724.20 difference. I have paid them $6000 for materials up front. Issues from install were many and glaring. I have spent many hours cleaning up and managing repairs from their install. Damaged my propery, left gutters full of shingles and nails, flashing not correct, torn shingles, incorrect vent boots, installed drip edge over drip edge. Had to get them to correct these items. So continual removing of shingles to replace items not correct, who knows what damage or breaches occurred or what else is missed. My hot tub was damaged due to shingles and nails. At a minimum i should only owe my deductible + insurance estimate. However it should be further reduced by at least $800 for my time and $400 to replace or mitigate my not tub panel damage. Really dont deserve a dime for terrible job. Also i think they billed for downspout / gutter and didnt replace it.

We had AmeriPro Roofing come out and evaluate an issue with our roof due to hail damage. We agreed on a price, had our insurance company evaluate the issue and after they finished the install with no issues reported to us, they contacted our insurance company directly and asked for more money. They are currently threatening to lien our house if we don't pay them. They are asking us for more than the insurance company sent as an add on amount.

We were approached by an Ameripro solicitor back in February/March 2024, as our area had sustained a large *********** storm. This Ameripro solicitor stated his company could review our property and work with our ********************** to expedite and complete necessary repairs. We were provided with many promises. Seemed to be good in the beginning, but as the process moved it all fell apart. I was asked to sign an agreement to allow the company to provide an estimate and work with our insurance company. My husband was outside and the AmeriPro solicitor stated it was not necessary for my husband to be involved as it was not an important document. That was in March, the estimate AmeriPro came out with was over $150,000! Our insurance company came outAmeriPro also was present during the inspection from our home insurance policy. The claim from insurance came out to just over $19,000. Quite a differenceso we were ***** and wanted to make decisions on how and what we fixed on our homeno copy of that agreement was provided to us at this point. Soon a few weeks later I received a text that our shingles were ordered and would be delivered on 5/13/24 and the work would start on 5/14weather permitting! We had not looked at colors or even agreed to any shingles or work to be completed at this time. My husband contacted the individual we were working with at AmeriPro and asked to not proceed with the order as we still were unsure and hadnt even received paperwork or made decisions on what work would be completedremember their estimate was over $150,000!The gentleman agreed to come out and discuss the project with us, where it was brought up, the communication was terrible and as us being the home owners we should get final say on what is done on our property. We looked over shingle colors, and picked a color. However there was still discrepancies between **************************** insurance company as to what was approved or how we would proceed. At this point a copy of the agreement was providedbut it was for the over $150,000. Long story short, we decided to not go with this company as too many red flags and lack of communication. We advised we would be going a different route. Now they are trying to collect over $1500 for cancellation. This company is fraudulent!

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the recent attempts to contact you. We appreciate your feedback and understand your concerns about the frequency of our calls.

Upon reviewing your Better Business Bureau complaint, we have investigated the matter thoroughly. We contracted with Ameripro roofing for roofing, gutter, and siding last year. The communication was spectacular in the beginning but quickly deteriorated as the jobs began. We were passed from one rep to another without a consistent project manager. After completion of the *************** the gutter grade was improperly handled which caused a major flood in our basement, despite our drain near the door. We were lucky to find it timely and do the repairs ourselves. It took several calls for our receipts to be accepted but they were never properly reflected in our invoices. After our siding job was completed, we noticed our external lights (2) were suddenly inoperable. We were able to find the wire to tie in one of the lights ourselves, but the other remained inoperable. We've reported the situation for months with little to no resolution and the reps dropping communication. Finally, after being threatened to be sent to collections, we contacted again to push for help with the light issue. It took almost 30 minutes on the phone for a manager to finally stop collections and recognize the already very well documented issue. We finally have another rep looking to come ASSESS the problem. however, this rep informed me that there was live, exposed wire that was not up to code simply put under our siding. We are assuming this is separate from the line we used to tie in our one exterior light. At no time were we, as the homeowners, informed of any electrical issue or literal fire hazard, let alone given the opportunity to have a electrician assess the issue before completion. I am very upset by the damages caused and the hazards left unreported by this company. I am also upset they are giving us a hard time to reconcile this issue, when it should have been brought to our attention during the project. I am given grief about removing the siding and recommended to remove my PLASTER walls instead, at my own cost. They were not looking out for us or our home in any capacity.

      Business response

      03/20/2024

We appreciate your business and look forward to working toward an agreeable solution.  AmeriPro's Project Manager and the complainant's electrician were at the complainant's property last week.  It was determined that a junction box within the property will need to be assessed by removing a small area in the interior wall.  Once the area can be assessed we can determine if the issue was the fault of AmeriPro and we will take responsibility accordingly.  We are currently working with the complainant to schedule the next on property meeting.
