In July 2022, I placed a down payment of $8526.00 for 3 outside doors and screen doors to be installed by Window Depot.I was told it could take 18 weeks to get the doors from the manufacturer. I received a couple of emails from ********************* of Window Depot and was always told the delivery date was pushed back another month. The last I heard from Window Depot was in November 2022. I attempted to contact 3 different persons whose names I got off my paperwork, *******************, ********************* and ************************* but, there was no response. I tried calling the office numbers, but no one answered, or voicemails were full or had no voicemail at all.

In early Oct. of last year, I went on ****'s list to find a contractor to install two double casement windows. The only contractor that would only do just two windows was Window's Depot of Chicago. After responding by phone, on the 13th of Oct. a sales rep came to my residence. He looked at the two windows needing replacement and quoted me a price of $3600 for both installed. The price was high -but nobody else was interested in the job. He asked for a 50% deposit and told me that someone would come out the following week to get an exact measurement of the windows and that installation would be in four weeks. Someone did come out and measure. Around the fourth week I called the rep several times to find out when they would be coming out. He finally replied -via text, that he no longer worked for the company. He did give me the owners name and direct cell phone number. In the following weeks, I called several times leaving a voice message. I never received a call back. Finally, I called ****'s to complain. I was given a case number and specialist and was told they would contact the owner. They got the same response -no reply after numerous attempts. I was then told that ****'s would freeze their account in order to motivate them to resolve the issue and refund my deposit. On the Jan 3rd I spoke to the specialist to get an update. She told me that the account hadn't been frozen because the main Windows Depot claimed that they had told ****'s to "pause" the Chicago franchise because they had filled bankruptcy back in Oct. The specialist claimed that no such notice had been given to ****'s. When I became somewhat angered at her response, she let it slip that there were also two other cases like mine. She then said she was trying to get a resolution from the main company. In the meantime, I am out $1800 and no windows. At this point I feel that ****'s bears some of the blame for my predicament.

I signed a contract and paid a large deposit for windows, a door, gutters and downspouts on October 10/30/2022. They have not returned my call since that day. I have emailed, texted and called. They are licensed to use the Window Depot name which is not what I was told when i signed the contract. . When I contacted the corporate offices for Window Depot *** they stated that Window Depot of Chicago is a part of their buying group and are licensed to use the name Window Depot but are two different. They did not offer any assistance. They also said that Window Depot *** of Chicago is closing their business and filling for bankruptcy. Why did they take a deposit from me if they were closing? They had to know they were closing when they took my deposit. Their office in ***************** is empty and closed up. I would like a refund. They also said they were in business for 20 years and were the 4th largest home improvement company in the US which are both lies. The contract says the project should be completed in 8 -12 weeks. The first step they would take was to obtain a permit from the village. 8 weeks later they have not applied for a permit. I contacted my village which requires a permit and they stated that Window Depot *** of Chicago did not alloy for a permit for my project. I contacted the window supplier and they could not find any order. I would like a refund of my deposit. The work was not done and the supplies were not ordered. They have done the same to many customers. They also did work for some customers but did not pay the suppliers. Those clients now have liens on their homes filed by the suppliers. (******** **************** I do not want to do business with Window Depot ********* would hope to save other people from making the mistake of trusting *************************, ******************* and ********************* of Window Depot *** of Chicago. The company is no longer on the Window Depot *** website. I want a full refund. If they are closing they should refund my deposit. No work was done and no supplies were ordered. I would like a full refund of my deposit. Did they keep my deposit for personal expenses if the business is closed? I just want my deposit back.

Hi , I have signed a contract with the company for installing 8 windows and 1 Patio door back in April 2022. The average time for installation I was informed was 12 to 16 weeks. Its been 24 weeks and I do not have any date for installation nor I am able to reach out to anyone from the company. No responses are being sent to the email I send or unable to call them on any number. I have paid $2000 as advance for the windows. Need them to return my deposit back if they are not able to install the windows. Thanks,******

Sept 25, 2022 entered into a signed contract with them to replace all windows in my home. I was offered a discount for paying in cash. On Oct 4th I paid $4500 deposit and told windows would be ordered and someone would contact me in 6 weeks to schedule the install. Now no one answers the phone or replies to emails. Their corporate office also takes no responsibility. I did my due diligence and saw good reviews. Now I see they have horrible reviews from the same time frame as me. They just offered discounts to steal cash from customers and run away. This is fraud and theft and no one wants to do anything about it.

My wife and I purchased our first home and realized we needed to rework the exterior of it. After meeting and talking to many contractors we ended up deciding to work with Windows Depot of Chicago. On May 12th, 2022 we entered into a signed agreement to replace our windows, siding, soffit, fascia and gutters of our home. They explained to us that it will take 14+ weeks to start as they had to order the supplies. At that time we provided a down deposit of nearly 50% for $30,000. The total amount of the contract was for $60,309.Fast forward to August of this year, when I reached out for an update. I was told that the supplier (Provia) was on backorder and items were delayed. That has been the continued conversation for months, that items continued to be delayed but were in the works. I continued to reach out for an update or starting work on other portions of the house only to say they wanted to do everything at once, all of which I have documented in email exchanges. My last conversation with them was on 10/27/22. I had reached out for an update and was told they were still delayed but earlier orders were coming in. I then reached out again on 11/28 with no response back, then again on 12/5. After not hearing from them for 2 weeks I went to look online as their responses had always been quick and saw all the reviews and conversations that there are similar people in the same situation we are in with this firm. As you can imagine my wife and I were taken aback and sick to our stomach. Doing a quick search online for 'Windows Depot of Chicago' you can find plenty of other people who are in a similar situation based on ******* Yelp and ******** reviews. At this time we are out $30,000 with nothing to show for it. This has severely put a strain on our income and future state for our family and I know many others too. Not just during this holiday season but for moving forward.
