We hired Window Depot of Chicago last year to replace windows and doors. We spent over $35,000.00 on this project. We have been having an on going issue with the storm door. This is the 2nd door that they replaced. The first one, installed late last summer was defective, and so is this one. The s**** pops out, the hardware looks weathered already, and the screen door sticks in cold weather...we can not get out of the front door and we can't let people in. Very inconvenient. *************************** suggested that we go with another manufacturer (instead of Provia). I agreed. He was to send me pictures and information on the new vender and new door. That was November 4th. And now, ******************* and *************************** are not returning our phone calls, or our emails. I requested to them that at this point, I am no longer interested in dealing with them. I want someone to come and remove the door and get a full refund. Poor customer service. Would not recommend this company.Initial Complaint

Window Depot of Chicago did a great job in replacing our siding, gutters, soffits, and facia. We are very happy with the quality of work. We paid and have a receipt for payment in full from Window Depot. However, we received a notice of mechanic's lien on my property from the supplier of the materials. I have been trying to contact Window Depot by phone, text, and email without any reply. I went to their ***************** office, and it looked abandoned, locked with the display room emptied out. Any monies due *************************** are the responsibility of Window Depot and should not involve any lien against us.Initial Complaint

We signed a contract on 9/27/2022 with Window Depot for over 50,000$ of exterior remodeling work (windows, roof, etc).7 weeks later no one will answer our phone calls or return our voicemails (we have left a dozen), and it seems that we have been scammed. ************************* (the owner) will not return our calls. ******************* (the other owner) quit recently. *************************** (our point of contact in the contract) will not return our calls. We need to be contacted to provide an update on the project or we will hire an attorney if needed.Initial Complaint

We signed a contract on April 22 for services at $27,439 and paid a $10,000 deposit by check on 4/28/22. At the time, we were told to expect **** weeks to start the job, and that it would ***********-9 days to complete. On July 5, I inquired about timing and was told that it was still expected to be done within the promised 14 week timeframe. On August 10, I inquired again and was told that they were still waiting on some materials to be delivered. Work finally began on September 26. On the first day of work, the crew began tear off and discovered asbestos underneath the old siding. We agreed to complete abatement; the crew removed old siding 9/26-27, and the abatement crew completed work 9/28-9/29. I received a change order on 9/29, and paid by check on 10/10/22 in the amount of $8,322.50 for asbestos abatement. Siding work resumed, but the crew was frequently absent or only present for half days. On 10/15, though work was far from complete, Window Depot charged my financing account the remaining balance of $17,439. I was not notified of this charge, and only discovered it 11/8/22 - 5 days after the first payment was due.On 10/23, the business owner contacted me to say that he was having equipment picked up and would send me a final invoice. I responded that the work was not yet complete and sent him several photos of remaining issues with explanations via text message. On 10/24 the owner came by to see the issues himself, per my request. Though no crew arrived to work during the day, someone arrived at 6:30pm (after dark) and began work. The ******* arrived a few minutes later, drove his truck onto my lawn, and the two men stood in the street shouting before departing. I called the business owner, who assured me the work would be completed by a different crew on 10/27. No work has been done since then, despite repeated requests and promises of a few more days each time.Today, 11/8, I discovered the financing charge and missed payment from nearly a month ago.
