On 11-26-2023 i went to this car dealership to buy a car within the first few hours i found out it was missing front headlights and the tire sincer was broken. Then i got it fixed and they refused to pay me back because it was before the 30 days. Then the transmission had a lot of problems where i spent over $1,000 in that alone and i called the state police and filed a complaint and has put more money into the vehicle then i have to pay for it. I still owe the bank money and all i have asked them to do is pay me back because i could have used this money to pay the bank helping me buy the car. I went to the state police and they said they at the dealership is not suppose to be selling cars.At this point they have refused to give the state of ******** the money for my license plate even though I payed for it already

Purchased a '99 Chevrolet ************** than 2 months ago. in the 2 months of ownership I have had approximately **** dollars worth of repair. The breaks failed while driving on the highway, a wheel tore free of the bolts while driving, and the rear differential is completely destroyed. The one repair they made was to the blower motor where they left the old resister in the engine compartment. the gas tank leaks fuel when filled and doesn't hold a full tank, the filler stem had a pin hole leak in it. they claimed that it was in great condition and was reliable. While I understand that old vehicles will have issues this is well beyond that. Twice now the van they sold me as "reliable" put my life in danger because of their negligence.

We purchased this vehicle in February and have now come across two illegal issues with the vehicle. The first issue came up when we found brake fluid leaking. Upon taking the vehicle to the shop we found that the brake line replacement done by the dealership was done incorrectly and illegally. The fluid got into the hardware and everything had to be replaced. The most recent issue came up when the pipe connected to the muffler became disconnected. The pipe had always hung a little low and it finally detached. Upon inspecting the vehicle, our repair shop found that part of the pipe had been replaced previously and their was no catalytic converter within the exhaust system. To correctly and legally repair the vehicle, the entire exhaust system (front to back) had to be replaced. This was quoted at $1,996 and the repair shop suggested I reach out to the dealership to see if they would be willing to help. I called the dealership and they stated that I was over quoted for the repair and the only thing they could offer was to bring the vehicle to them(over an hour away) and they could have their mechanic look at the vehicle. Because this was the second illegal thing that has come up with the car, I was not comfortable with their mechanic completing the repair. It was also unrealistic to drive the vehicle until it had been properly repaired. Because the vehicle was sold this way, I think its only fair they they cover all of the costs for this repair.

we have no knowledge of  what has been done to this car. it was sold 8  months ago and we simply told the customer we would look at it for them free of charge and  help them out.  i  cant help the fact they live an hour away.

I am rejecting this response because:it is clear that the vehicle was sold this way. My mechanics took pictures as evidence and are willing to speak on my behalf to verify the what they saw. Additionally, this was the second illegal issue they found on this car. Even if I lived 10 minutes from the dealership, I would not be comfortable with your mechanic repairing the vehicle. Based on the two illegal issues mentioned in my original claim as well as the leaking gas tank issue when we first purchased the car(also unsafe and illegal), I dont have any confidence that your mechanic would properly repair the vehicle.

      Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:I understand that it has been a while since the vehicle was purchased, but that does not change the fact that it was sold to me this way and it is illegal. Because it was sold to me with the missing catalytic converter and the illegally repaired brake lines, the best way that you can help me is to share in the costs of the most recent repair for the catalytic converter.

      Sincerely,
