I was given a GUARANTEED pickup date of 7/29 from ShipWit when I contracted them to ship my car. I didnt hear anything from the company in the days leading up to the pickup day of 7/29. On the morning of the pickup I called the company to confirm when they would be arriving for my car and was sent to voicemail so I left a message with my number and asked to be called back. This was around 7am my time. I then sent the representative I had talked with an email around 8am to follow up. After two more voicemails I submitted a request for a quote on their website around 11:30am. I had a call from ShipWit within ******************************************** contact with my representative who said they would call me back as soon as they had more information. Around 1:30pm I called back once again going to the representatives voicemail. After several more attempts I finally got through to someone around 2:30pm. At this point I was told it was very unlikely my vehicle would be picked up that day. I told them I had to leave town that day so I needed this car gone. They asked if I felt comfortable leaving the car keys hidden for a driver which I found completely unacceptable. They asked if I had someone I could leave the car with. I told them I was headed to another city that day where my parents live and they could handle the drop off. This was about 340 miles away from the initial pickup. They told me that they couldnt find a driver because nobody would accept the fair they were asking. We had agreed to a price of $1180 with $190 going to the company and the remaining $990 going to the driver they were to contract to ship the car. To me this meant they low balled my quote to get my business. They told me that we would have to increase the quote to find a driver especially in a new city. The price increase to $1250 to the driver before they found someone to accept the job the next day, 7/30. They accepted no responsibility for missing the deadline or not returning my calls.

This order was successfully picked up and delivered to the client and we assigned a carrier at the nearest available date. Please see the attached documents as proof. ShipWit is a marketplace. We connect shippers to carriers at the lowest available prices. We also provide full access to every working carrier on any given route and we can even utilize the National ********** so that means every working carrier that is available will have an opportunity to review the load and decide whether they want it or not. There is never an obligation to use a particular carrier company either and in order for them to pick up the vehicle the rate and dates must be confirmed. From our end, we send a dispatch confirmation email on all dispatched orders which clearly show the price the carrier is requesting and the dates of pickup and delivery. After that it's up to the client if they wish to proceed with that carrier or have us keep looking for others. On this specific shipment, the first available date was 7/29 and the carrier we assigned on 7/29. Prior to that no carriers requested the load or were willing to accept it. If there was some delay on the carrier side after they were dispatched, that is not something ShipWit can control or take responsibility for since the carrier company and their driver are completely separate entities and are not our employees. We tried to reach out to the client today after receiving this complaint but they did not answer our call. We want to make every shipment as stress free as possible and are always here to help. Thank you for taking the time to read our response.

    Complaint: 22086215

I reject the response from the business. I does not sound like they even took the time to read my message and understand what I am upset about. You have given me a generic response that highlights that you did assign a carrier, pick up the vehicle, and deliver it. I am not disputing that the car was picked up or delivered. Then you give me a generic response that you are just a broker and have no control on when the car is picked up after a carrier is assigned. I am not disputing that either. The carrier you finally got assigned to me was fantastic and called my every day with updates on where he was and even got the car to me a day early.

I will spell it out what I am upset about in bullet points so it is extremely clear to the company.

    1. You gave me a guaranteed date of 7/29 to ship the car. You did not pick up the car on 7/29. You didn't have a carrier assigned until 4pm on the 29th as is shown in your attachments.

    2. Your company did a horrible job communicating with me. The day of pickup I left you voicemail after voicemail without any response. I had to submit a new quote for pick up to get your company's attention and have someone finally reach out to me. Once I had someone on the line I was able to explain your lack of communication and get a hold of the original agent I had set up the quote with.

    3. I finally got a hold of someone willing to help me around 6 hours after my initial voicemail to you on the day of pickup. I explained I needed to leave town that day. Your representative wanted me to HIDE THE KEYS TO THE CAR and leave town. It is ridiculous that you would ask me to do that. We agreed to leave the car with family I have in a city about 340 miles away.

    4. You increased the price to $1250 and someone accepted the shipment within a few hours for pick up in the new city. This tells me that you low balled my original quote to get my business. Nobody wanted the car for $990 and instead of reaching out to me early in the day and working with me to figure out how we were going to move forward I was left in a desperate situation where I needed the car gone ASAP and had to take this higher fee.

I am looking for responses to these 4 points from the business. I will not be satisfied until they are answered.

    Sincerely,

    *********************

Thank you for the opportunity to respond. ShipWit is a nationwide company and we facilitate thousands of car shipments every year from every state including ****** and ******. We do not ever guarantee pickup dates. It would be dishonest for us or any company in our industry to do that since there are always factors that are out of the control of even the actual driver, never mind a dispatcher or broker in a different state. The facts are we sent ****************** an order confirmation email which clearly shows the estimated pickup date of 7/29. He agreed to that. We also then sent him a dispatch confirmation email on 7/29 with a carrier for pickup on 7/30. ****************** did not reject this dispatch or cancel his order and proceeded to coordinate the transportation with the carrier company. The vehicle was then successfully delivered to the shipper. The assigned agent responded to each one of the emails sent to him. We also did not "raise the rate"as is alleged. The carrier company requested that amount, we provided that request to ****************** and he agreed to pay them. Our company only charged the $190 connection fee which we charged for securing the carrier company, checking their licensing and insurance and coordinating the logistics. Shippers can cancel at any time and receive a full refund prior to the vehicle getting picked up and delivered. We did work on this order and there was never a cancellation request submitted in writing or verbally. We thank you for taking the time to read our response.

I hire shipwit to find me a carrier to transport my vehicle cross country. They stated that they found a carrier took my deposit, and no call from a carrier. I call the shipwit and left messages and no respond.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/16/2024

We have been in contact with ************ several times since he placed the order. The issue is that he also simultaneously hired two other brokers and now those companies are listing him for $1600+ when our quote was $1040. This means no carrier will agree to take our shipment for less when other companies are offering the same carriers the same shipment for much more money. Also 'Double Posting' is a violation of Terms (because it creates issues such as this). We will once again reach out to the shipper now in order to reach a resolution. To all future shippers regardless of whether you use ShipWit or not, please do not hire multiple companies to move your car thinking whoever gets it first will get the job. That will only cause unnecessary delays and your rate will most likely increase due to other brokers trying to out-bid each other for the carrier's spot and drivers refusing to accept the lower rates. Hopefully this will be useful information. Thank you for reading our response.

I am rejecting this response because:Good day. Ship-wit company has not try calling me back to resolve the issue as mention. Case number above. They promise a pick up date and did not comply. Even with this I waited several days and no services render. I wish to report this company. I request services from another company since shitwit did not do there jobs. Shop wit just took my deposit money of $140 and call it day. This is not acceptable. Please move forward. Question or concerns please reach out to me. Business Response

We respectfully disagree with what ************ is stating. Please take a look at the screenshots attached. The order was successfully dispatched to a carrier on 7/17. That carrier company's info was shared with the shipper in real-time. We have proof of this with timestamps and read receipts from ******* Either way, we always try to make each shipper happy, however we also cannot have shippers use us to gain carrier info and then work directly with the carrier company after not paying us for the service of securing the carrier and then checking their licensing and insurance details and coordinating all the logistics. If the shipper used a different carrier than the one we shared with them, we can still issue a full refund. We will reach out to ************ again in order to explain once again the refund and cancellation policy (which we also attached in our rebuttal) and hopefully reach a resolution. Thank you for taking the time to read our response.

Was contacted by ********************* and his team regarding the shipment of my 2016 F450 (quote was $1,070). After agreeing to terms with them and paying $170 I was told the remaining $900 is due unpon delivery. I informed them the latest shipping date was June 27th. They contacted me on June 25th telling me they have a driver. The driver calls me and tells me that the balance is $2,200 due upon delivery. **** and his team claim that the reason the price changed is because the size of the truck. Problem with that is I sent him an email from the website with the specs of the vehicle to he shipped an the said that the price is locked in and not to get tricked into a company that will guarantee you a price and **** it up. Well that's literally what ShipWit.com did and now I am stuck paying storage fees until I can fly out there myself to pick up the truck and drive it back. Would highly recommend not using this company.

    Business Response

    Date: 07/18/2024

We have to respectfully disagree. ShipWit actually assigned 2 separate carrier companies to this order. MDK Logistics LLC. had a mechanical failure with their gearbox and the Orange Express couldn't load the vehicle because it turned out it was much larger than both us and them had initially believed. The pickup location also had very limited load hours which made most carriers not want to commit. We connected the shipper to both carriers and responded to his cancellation request email. We asked the shipper to let us know within the 5-7 day window if they get a carrier elsewhere and if not we would issue the refund. We have not heard from the shipper since until this complaint. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because: although that all makes sense it doesn't negate that the quote was agreed upon at $1,070 seventeen days prior to the latest shipping date. I also told them it was at a ******* ***** They said that won't be a problem. Also the broken gearbox story really is irrelevant because they wanted me to pay $2,200 cash upon delivery which is 221% of what i was quoted. Waiting until 3 days prior to shipment to tell me the price is over double is strong arm business practice. I have been refunded.

Our company never asked the customer for more money. We charge a one time connection fee for connecting shippers to carriers. This shipper was refunded in full because he did not use the carrier company we connected him to. Unfortunately, there were no other carriers at that time willing to ship for less because of the vehicles size, location, and the very tight pickup window at the facility. We have access to every working carrier on any route nationwide. We genuinely wish ***** all the best and appreciate his sincerity. We always learn and grow from customer feedback.

After inquiring about price quotes to ship my car from my home in **************, ** to my grand-niece in ****************, **, I was contacted by Ship Wit, who gave me a quote of $1000, plus a broker's fee of $190. I agreed to this price, and paid Ship Wit their broker's fee up front. Unfortunately, I was put in contact with Country Logistics, a dishonest transport company which has turned out to be a complete nightmare. On the day of the vehicle pick up, the driver of the car transport refused to come anywhere near my house, and I had to drive about 3 miles to meet him. As it turns out, the driver spoke very little English, and I had to communicate with him by smartphone using ****** Translation. Ship Wit had assured me that the transport service was only going to cost $1000, but after the car was picked up, I called the dispatch office in order to find out when the car would be delivered, and I was told by a woman in the Country Logistics dispatch office that it would cost me $1600. After I protested ths obvious "bait and switch" tactic, I was told that my grand-niece would have to pay by *****, Venmo, or CashApp in advance before the car was delivered to her from the Country Logistics storage yard in the ************ area, approximately 100 miles north. She refused to agree to this ridiculous demand, and Country Logistics has refused to deliver the car to her. Consequently, my car is being held hostage by a dishonest company who is upset with me because I refuse to be ripped off. I hold Ship Wit responsible for this situation, as they did not exercise due diligence and put me in contact with a company that not only refuses to honor the price they agreed to, but has resorted to extortion. While my grand-niece is not out any money, as she hasn't had to pay the shipper for the delivery of the car, I'm out the $190 which I paid to Ship Wit, as well as the value of the car, which is approximately $4000! The least that Ship Wit can do is to refund me the broker's fee.

I am rejecting this response because I am telling the God's honest truth about my recent experiences with *********************** the car transport company that ShitWit put me in contact with, and who is currently holding my car hostage until my niece pays them $600 more than ShipWit told me that she would have to pay.

I am willing to drop this complaint only if ShipWit promises me that they'll follow through with their offer to issue me a refund as detailed in an email which they sent me earlier today after they received notification that I had filed a complaint against them with the BBB.

I also want ShipWit to agree to blacklist *********************** and any of the other names which they may be operating under, as I don't want to see anyone else have the misfortune of being ripped off and lied to by *********************** in the future.

     Sincerely,

In an effort to resolve the matter between the shipper and the carrier company, we are willing to issue a refund of the connection fee. This means our company, which was the shipping marketplace in this transaction, is not only doing this move for free but also losing money on it due to labor and processing fees. We have blacklisted the carrier company prior to this message as they did not handle this move according to our internal standards for carriers. We genuinely care very much about how carrier companies treat our clients. Hopefully this will help reach a resolution. Thank you.

The original quite was not honored, then the shipment was delayed 5 days, during which time the delivery truck apparently broke down. We believe our car was used for transportation of the driver during this time, as the gas was full when we first shipped it, and almost empty when it was delivered. We want the original shipping price to be honored.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/06/2024

The issues detailed in this complaint are with a carrier company called "VA CARRIERS ***** They are the company that requested the rate that the shipper agreed to. Otherwise they would not have picked up the vehicle. They are also the company that has been delayed due to a legitimate truck breakdown. ShipWit acted as the broker or marketplace on this move and we connected the two parties together. We have been monitoring carrier progress and they have informed us that they spoke with the shipper several times and are doing everything in their power to expedite delivery. Unfortunately most carriers do not have BBB profiles or even websites in general so shippers will oftentimes blame brokers like ShipWit for things we have no control over. Nonetheless, we will reach out to the carrier company once again and ask them to call **** with a firm ETA as quickly as possible. We already requested a discount from the carrier company and they said they would accommodate the shipper. Thank you for taking the time to read our response.

ShipWit is a Nationwide auto shipping marketplace. We have ******+ carriers in our database servicing virtually all parts of the country. We do everything in our power to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience for all shippers. We cannot however be responsible for things we have no control over. If a shipper has issues with a carrier company that is dispatched via the ShipWit portal or brokered out otherwise, we can only be liable and responsible for things we have control over but we still mediate and try to reach resolutions to all challenges or problems that *** arise. Beyond that, we did all that we could to get this shipment transported as safely and quickly as possible. Thank you.

I paid 190$ to have my car shipped, on 5/24 (Friday). I told them upon booking anytime next week was fine. They communicated great at first, letting me know early in the week, they could not find a shipper, but were diligently looking, and should have it all set in 1-2 days. I gave them the entire week. They quoted $770, then told me it would be closer to $1200. This is a coast to coast shipment. They claim carrier shortages, rate surges, yada yada. Today (Friday the 31st) still nothing. My car has been sitting at the dealership waiting for pickup. The finance manager at the dealer said he can ship anyday now, just waiting for my go ahead. I have been trying to do the right thing and give Shipwit the opportunity to get this shipment completed, but unfortunately they simply do not produce. Not the quoted price, not the increased price, nothing. I have requested a refund 5 or 6 times between yesterday and today. They answer with emails like "How are you going to ship if you cancel" and "Are you working with another broker?". They are trying to find ways to withhold my reservation fee, instead of just refunding it for failing to produce a carrier. This morning I send them an email saying if they do not provide acknowledgment of my request and a refund by end of day I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. Complete radio silence. So here I am filing this complaint as promised. Thanks.

    Business Response

Shippers can cancel their orders anytime and we have a full refund and no cancellation fee policy. We received an email from *** on Friday evening claiming he will dispute the charges. If a charge is disputed we can no longer issue the refund since the funds are already taken out by the bank. That process only delays the actual customer receiving those funds which is why we ask shippers not to dispute charges but rather to allow the required 3-5 days for the refund tor reflect on their statements. The vehicle did not have any carriers interested due to its very heavy weight. Standard SUV's are 5,000-6,000lbs the Rivian SUV is 8,500+lbs. Drivers were passing on it since it would render them legally overweight in conjunction with their other shipments. We did everything possible to get it picked up as quickly as possible. Either way there is never a reason to file any disputes since we refund all cancelled orders. Thank you.

This is absolutely false. The truth is this customer VIOLATED our Terms by double brokering this shipment. He hired us to get him a carrier for two vehicles and the first available date was 6/14. In other words, no matter who he hired to secure a carrier, the carrier wouldn't have confirmed the load until sometime in June. Then a week after booking and before canceling with us the customer hired a different broker who then posted the same exact shipment to the same exact dispatch board for the same exact carriers but for significantly more money. What took place was while under contract with us, another broker called him, offered him a lower quote but posted him for hundreds of dollars more. Please see the proof attached along with our Terms. We did nothing wrong here. A legitimate company abides by the Terms. We send these Terms to every shipper upon booking. Thank you for reading our response.

I paid ShipWit $190 and did not get the service I was promised. The ONLY TIME I actually talked to someone was when the broker wanted my business. I talked to him on 5/10 and told him we were leaving for vacation on 5/20 so we needed our vehicle delivered by 5/19. He confidently assured me multiple times that this would not be a problem. As days passed, I reached out to ShipWit, but no one ever answered my phone calls or called me back. And I only got a response back to one of three emails saying things were still on track. Today on 5/18 I received an email that my vehicle could get picked up and delivered on 5/21. Why is this offered when 3x Ive shared our time constraints? I reached out to ShipWit requesting my money back and also called my credit card company. I understand if its hard to find a driver, but my complaint with ShipWit is that they have employees making commitments they cant keep and that they ignore customers trying to reach out to them.

Since this was an Enclosed trailer move, it was very difficult to secure a carrier for the dates requested. We agreed to cancel the order and issue ***** a full refund before we were made aware of this complaint. Thank you.

While searching for prices to ship 2 vehicles, I was contacted by ShipWit to ask if I found a better quote. I received a text message that stated:******* did you find a reliable company to ship your vehicle yet? What is your best quote so far? I can try to BEAT it. We are a 5 Star Rated, A+ accredited company. Sincerely,[ ********************* - ShipWit ]Reply STOP to unsubscribe.I replied by stating that I had a lower quote but that the broker underbid the transport thus I needed another quote that was realistic. The following day 5/10, I received a quote for $1630 via email and was called to see if this was acceptable. I again reiterated that the price needs to be accurate in order to make the decision. I was assured it was. I paid $330 and was told the balance would be paid upon delivery. On 5/14 I received a notification that the load was accepted by a driver and that I would need to pay $1800 upon delivery. I responded by reminding ShipWit of the agreed upon price and advised them that they could not deliver on their quote, to refund the deposit. Alternatively I would accept the $1800 quote but that this would need to include the $330 already paid. I was advised that they tried their best and that they do not work for free. In summary, Im locked into either accepting the $1800 price in addition to paying them $330 or simply allow them to keep $330 for a bad quote. I have text messages, emails that support my claim. In addition, I was not provided terms and conditions to review prior to making them any payments. In addition, I was agreeable to increasing the total price to $1800 which includes their fee but was refused. My request is simple: refund the $330 paid for services not rendered or honor an $1800 total shipping offer (despite the agreement being for $1630). If they refuse to honor either, then I request this to reflect negatively with the BBB. I will also file a dispute with my card issuer in an attempt to recover the deposit.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our profile. ShipWit is a shipping marketplace and we successfully connect thousands of carriers to shippers all over the country every year. We have been doing this for almost 10 years. With all quotes that are booked at rates that are below the market prices (only because that shipper did not want to pay the actual going rate or just want to see if any carriers can accept for less), we do everything in our power to secure a carrier. We did that here too. You can see in our attached images of what other brokers and carriers are accepting and posting loads for on this route. We still secured a carrier for $200+ less per spot. ******* refused to use that carrier company, so we cancelled the order and issued him a full refund. There is never a reason to file any chargeback. We have a full refund policy and doing a chargeback prior to canceling the order is a violation of Terms. Thank you.

It was buried 7 pages into the email. ************ works on commissions. Was guaranteed door to door service as well which it did not happen. See photos. Was promised I could Venmo money, with the delivery man would only accept *****.see photos ************ is all about doing bait and switch. In my eyes this is unacceptable. The contract was again 960 minus 190 deposit. Balance was to be $670, the delivery man charged me $1100.. The difference is I paid $190 over, I would like to be reimbursed for this amount., in order for my truck to be released. I paid the 1100 so that my neighbor that could accept the truck for me. Thank you for reaching out. The order was dispatched to a carrier and their rate and dates were sent in an email requesting a response with any changes or rejection of their offer. That email was opened and read 7 days ago. Then the driver was spoken with and confirmed by the shipper (she was the pickup and delivery contact). Not once was there ever any issues raised with price until after the vehicle was delivered. Despite us sending the dispatch email with price in large font and despite the carrier confirming rate on pickup and delivery. As with all shipments, we secure the lowest available rates and send written confirmation on each carrier load request. Had this customer cancelled the order or rejected the carrier's offer we would have gladly issued a full refund, as is our policy. Please see the attached screenshots to support our position.

I am rejecting this response because:
Sorry, I just received your email, the issue is not resolved. I was not contacted and the amount was buried so far down in the email. The company owes me a refund! As I stated at first. This issue is NOT resolved on my end. I feel that this company takes advantage of people with bath and switch prices! It needs to be stopped immediately.
    Sincerely,

We have attached screenshots of the actual order Dispatch Confirmation email we sent to the shipper. The text is in very large font and the amount owed is easily readable. Our records indicate that exact email was successfully delivered, opened and read on 5/6/24. The vehicle was picked up on 5/11/24. There was never a formal rejection of the dispatch or of this carriers rate request despite us asking to respond with any changes or concerns days before it was picked up. Lastly we secured a carrier for $1100 on a route where the listed prices are averaging $1200-$1500+ per vehicle (please see attached screenshot of other listings from other companies on the same route) so we actually still secured a very low rate for the shipper. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
The issue of a lower cost of shipping as never discussed with me! It was sent in an email that I as hurried after many,  many pages of blankness. This company did a bait and switch on me, which is extremely unethical in todays society! This company is not honest from the beginning! The manager was supposed to called me back and never did! Again it is all about them and not the consumer! I refund would have been made. There was no one to contact on  night shipment to either drop off or deliver, no one answered the phone! This company does not care! They dont stand by their contact. I was also told I could Venmo or PayPal the balance with the receiving company refused! Again not living up to the contract switching everything around to their benefit! I very unhappy customer!
    Sincerely,
