Mr. *************************** with Mutual of Omahas Reverse Mortgage Department was heaven sent. I was feeling very anxious and uneasy because I lacked a clear understanding of how a reverse mortgage would work in my situation. Connecting with an agent who had been in the business for years representing a FIVE STAR company quickly dissolved my angst. **** patiently answered all my questions. He walked me through the entire process resulting in an outcome that I could not be happier with. My wife and I love our home and it is such a great feeling knowing that we can age in place.Review from Walter M

The agent say things to get you to fill out application for a loan for much more money than what you need, then they do credit check and come up a fake excuse to deny you the loan! Then I fill like I just give up a lot of personal information and if they get hacked, ther go's my personal information,agen.Review from salvatore p

they **** been dealing with them for 2 months still no mortgage cant get an answer from anybody would not recommend them to anybody

A detailed response was emailed directly to the review. Mutual reviewed the complaint and determined that the company was actively trying to track down necessary documentation to complete the reviewer's transaction. There is no evidence of delays or unresponsiveness.Review from Maria A

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage worst experience ever, when we started the process they told me I qualify for a consolidation so after I pay for the appraisal they start acting weird, no returning my calls or texts and when I was lucky enough to get a respond they said the under writing team was reviewing my application, do not waste your time or your money with this company. I give this company 1 star on the review just because it doesn't let me post it with out it.Mutual of Omaha Mortgage Response

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage, Inc. provided a detailed response directly to the reviewer via email. Mutual's review found that the reviewer was notified of the status of her loan in a timely manner and didn't find evidence of delays in the loan process.Review from George B

Do not use this company! I noticed out of every review and complaint this company comes up with some reason to justify their inadequate performance and practices. Please save yourself the headache and hoop jumping and stay away from them. If I ran my small business as they run this big business I would be in legal trouble at best. They strung me along right up to two days before closing asking for paperwork that should have been checked pre closing. So $1000 dollars out of pocket and they made me bump my homeowners insurance premium up all to say two days before closing they cant do it. So Im sure they will come up with some excuse to justify their inability to have competent people do loans as seen on the reviews So take my advice STAY AWAY FROM THEMMutual of Omaha Mortgage Response

I wish I would have read the reviews for Mutual of Omaha's mortgage options. I NEVER would have used their services for a reverse mortgage. I was told "Congratulations. You have been approved for your reverse mortgage" in the very beginning. I provided all the material they asked me for. After weeks of telling me they needed this and that done before they could continue, I was denied. I exhausted every ***** of my savings getting things done they said needed to be done as well as inspections before I could be approved. I feel I was taken advantage of. DO NOT USE MUTUAL OF OMAHA FOR YOUR MORTGAGE NEEDS!!!Mutual of Omaha Mortgage Response

Mutual received your complaint and completed its investigation. Your loan file was pre-approved with the condition that you provide a satisfactory explanation for some items on your credit report to eliminate the need for a Life Expectancy Set Aside. Underwriting reviewed the explanation provided and determined that it was insufficient to satisfy program requirements. A Life Expectancy Set Aside ("****") was therefore required in connection with your loan to meet Home Equity Conversion Mortgage guidelines. Unfortunately, the **** created a situation in which you were short to close and Mutual had to deny your loan file. We hope you understand that Mutual must originate all loans in accordance with program requirements as well as state and federal law. Mutual is sorry to learn of your frustration with the loan process and hopes this explanation resolves your complaint to your satisfaction.Review from Triston S

Mutual immediately reached out to the borrower to address his concerns upon receiving notice of the review. The borrower followed up with a 5-star review on 1/24/24 indicating that his former complaint was resolved and that he was confident in the services provided by Mutual.Review from mark b

I needed 2 co-signers to do a cash out refinance and the one person who co-signed had Alzheimers and they knew this going into it.And the person who had Alzheimers didnt have any credit out there as he was sick and they told us to get him a credit card and use it to trigger a credit score.When it came time to dm the signing the first one stoped the signing due to the fact that one person was told he had Alzheimers.mutual of Omaha set up another signing and they told not to mention that one person had Alzheimers.Mutual of Omaha Mortgage Response

This complaint was also submitted to the ********* Attorney General. A detailed response was submitted on 2/26/2024. Mutual did not uncover any evidence that its loan officer stated that any of the borrowers should withhold any information regarding the co-signers illness.Review from Sandra B

A terrible experience getting the loan. Day after day we had one request after another for information. We had to have two termite inspections although termites are almost never found in northern *********. Our mortgage broker could never get a straight answer about when we could close. As a result, we had to pay $4000 in rent because of the delayed closing.Mutual of Omaha Mortgage Response
