My experience with Fidium was deeply frustrating. It started with a botched installation and ended with a nightmare return process. The installation took about 6 hours across two days. I was very clear with both technicians on how to ensure that the whole house got coverage from where to bring the line in to where to install the modem and router. Both technicians ignored my clear instructions.Instead, they installed the router in the far corner of my homenowhere near my officeresulting in speeds that were 8% to 15% of those advertised (150-300Mb/s instead of the 2Gb/s I paid for) and a dead zone on the opposite corner. As a result, I canceled the service the day after installation was finished noting that I could stick with cable service. The quality of install was also subpar. The technician did not use a gang box inside the wall on the interior of the house and screwed the wall plate directly into drywall. He didn't leave a service loop in the wall and had pulled the fiber taught from the outside. He actually recommended running a visible line inside the house at one point during the installation. Technician was clearly not properly trained.Concise Overview:- Botched Installation: Router installed in the farthest corner of the house, ignoring user guidance, and failing to follow best practices during installation.- Poor Performance: Significantly slower than advertised.- Nightmare Return Process: Inadequate return box provided, forcing escalation to near legal action.- Extra Fees: $376.02 rather than $100 assessed on unreturned equipment, only resolved after legal threats.- Unresponsive: Repeated emails to Fidiums provided social address went unanswered.- Suspicious Reviews: Possible fake 5-star reviews appear to bolster Fidiums ratings.- Better Alternatives: Ezee Fiber offered faster speeds (8Gb) and a smoother experience overall.

Their physical bills sent are not accurate. I have a bill that was due. *****.i paid it 2 days before. It was due by Jan 12th. So I wake up to no Internet today. I checked my online bill and it says 99 by Jan 21st. It is now Jan 14th. Why tf do I have no Internet. Billing online is a very different statement than the sent home bills. And fidium fiber keeps you on hold for an hr, hr and a half sometimes. Then you get transferred constantly to go through the waiting process again.. This whole company is designed to cancel it whenever they want. Mine was cut off in the middle of the night. This is a ****show of a company

If I could give this company a -100 star I would do so. I have been trying to get this company to fix my **************** since November 5th 2024. I still get the run around and all they say to me is " Sorry for your Inconvenience." Then all you get from them is a Hold Call for 30 minutes or more. You can leave a message for the next available representative to call you back! NOPE, they do not call you back. I have told them that I am Not going to pay bill and they say then you will get your service "Shut Off" well it is at the moment anyway do to the fact that it is down at the ***********. I advise NO ONE EVER go though this company. They will not help you with your Internet issues or try to get you a refund or even retroactive your service you have not been able to use. Buyers Beware!!

I desperately need the assistance of the Better Business Bureau. Fidium Fiber has been a nightmare since day one. I signed up for the service in order to receive the affordable connectivity credit. For the first month, the Monthly credit was removed Buy a completely fraudulent company, and I was powerless because the company didnt exist in any real sense for me to do anything about it ( see QLink) So I tried desperately to keep my Internet from getting shut off every month as it was out of my price range- After six months or so, I ultimately left the state of ***** and disconnected my service- Except theyve been billing me monthly and they will not stop- If I cant get the Better Business Bureau to advocate for me on my behalf, I legitimately do not know how this ends- Already have assigned me hundreds of dollars of billable debt and I do not use their service. I dont even live in that state. I dont even live on that same side of the country.I tried to call customer service when I first realized that they were still billing me, and they basically told me point-blank that they would not stop billing me because I still had the modem- Explain to them that I had asked basically monthly since the service began for them to send a return label to return the modem- Every time I would call customer service, I would request to be able to return the equipment. They would tell me that they submitted that request. I would ultimately never receive anything- I still have a roommate At my old building With the modem that cannot be returned, literally- its a catch 22- they plan to bill me forever

cancelled my services after yrs. of poor internet connections, static phone no customer service. cancelled my service on 11/27, shut off service 11/29 now its 12/4 when calling billing to request a price adjustment for the extra 2 weeks i paid in advance now they're saying it was not showing in their system it was cancelled . are they telling me their billing **** does not correspond with their service ****.. still ripping me off after all the yrs. i overpaid for a horrible service. never never will do business with this company ever again. but that shouldn't be hard to do because i presume they will claim bankruptcy like they did when they were fairpoint and just start another business under a new name once again. stay far away from this sleazy greedy business all they're good at is taking money and providing nothing in return. no surprise they rate an F on the BBB. that's probably why they're not accredited. JUST SAY NO to Consolidated Communications!!!

Somehow their customer care puts you on hold for hours even if they're not busy. They're extremely inexperienced and seem to have no idea what they're doing. Online chat or phone call is useless. No communication from a company with communication in their name. If there's other options for internet in your area I would advise avoiding this company.

My 81 year old mother has been without internet for almost 1 month. She lives in ********************** and has been contacting Consolidated repeatedly about her lack of service. For the firt 2 weeks they told her daily a tech was coming but no-one ever arrived. Now when she calls they just tell her they have "no techs to send". They are still billing her for service and are basically holding her telephone number hostage so she cannot keep it if she changes to another company. Horrible service and truly a case of taking advantage of an elderly person who is trapped in a rural environment with no access to internet, unable to have her medical telehealth visits, and little to no recourse.

They put the service box right next to our front door 3' up from the ground without asking us. They ran the underground cable maybe 3" underground across the flower beds where we will be sure to hit it in the spring despite telling us it would be "below the frost line". They are impossible to get a hold of unless you are setting up an initial request for service, and if you do get them then there is no continuity of knowledge from one call to the next. They seem to sub-contract everything and send these guys out with very loose work orders in unmarked trucks. Their communication with their subs seems as bad as with the customers because they do not call ahead (even when they have flagged your account to do so).I have no idea what their service itself was like because I got so fed up with their antics that I just cancelled the entire service setup. Now I just have to fix all the seemingly random holes in my siding.

Consolidated AKA FIDUM FIBER / BE AWARE THAT WIFI CANNOT BE SHUT OFF BY CONSUMER I have recently gotten Fidium services in my home. I want to know why they are not making a solid point to notify prospective customers up front that there is NO WAY to turn your WiFi on/off when you need to - just like we were able to do with Consolidated internet. I'm being told that we have no way to do that. Had I know that, I would have chosen to keep my Consolidated DSL and am considering switching back until this is fixed. It's not acceptable that you cannot turn off wireless in your home, especially if you only need hard-wired services 99% of the time and having this option is important to many customers for a variety of reasons. This needs to be fixed ASAP.
