On 12/29/23 I purchased 4 new Michelin Defender LTX MS 2 275 tires at Mr. **** in ******, **; I also had a mailer for a $100 rebate. After the appointment, the store manager verified I was eligible and gave me the paperwork to file the rebate. Not long after the sale and well before the rebate deadline of 1/31/24, I submitted the rebate paperwork online at tirerewardcenter.com. On 1/12/24 I received an email stating Submission ID: ******* Dear ***********************,Thank you for your submission to the Michelin Fulfillment Center. We received your redemption and processed your information. Unfortunately, your recent tire redemption has been denied for the following reason(s):The date of the tire purchase falls outside of the eligible promotional period.I've since sent 3 emails requesting the rebate be resubmitted and approved and have included the receipt showing the date of purchase and the rebate redemption instructions

The $100 rebate offer that the customer is referring to is for the purchase of select tires only: Michelin Alpin A4, Latitude Alpin, Latitude Alpin LA2, Latitude ***** Xi2, Pilot Alpin 5, Pilot Alpin 5SUV, Pilot Alpin PA4, ***** ***** ***** Snow SUV or ***** Xi3 tires. The customer purchased Defender tires which do not qualify for the $100 rebate. There is a winter promotion for Defender tires which took place a few weeks prior to the actual purchase date. As a one-time courtesy I will submit this rebate to be approved. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of the $70 reward card.

      Better Business Bureau:
I should have kept the mailer to prove my point, but my naivety got the best of me for believing a company of Michelin's reputation would live up to their promise to their customers. The tires I purchased were explicitly listed for rebate in the mailer I received if purchased prior to 12/31/23. The mailer was shown to the store manager, vetted to be accurate, to which I then received the rebate paperwork to fill out and submit.  This is a bad look for Michelin.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

      Sincerely,

Good Afternoon,I purchased some new tires from Belle Tires in *********** ** back on 11/20/23. I was told that because of the promotion/purchase that I can get a ***** rebate if I go online and scan over the receipts to confirm I purchased tires, etc. I have sent photos of receipts etc to the email address provided to me multiple times(4) and I feel like I am not getting anywhere. They keep telling me that I have not provided proof of the receipts that show I purchased the tiRES and how many, etc. I have sent them copies of all of the receipts that I have received from Bell Tire and it appears they are just not interested in providing me with the rebate. I have researched and read some reviews from other customers and it appears that it is a common theme with this company to not honor the rebate. The email address that I have sent multiple copies of receipts to is ************************************************************ and there is a ***** and a Mykala who have responded to my email, but states they are sorry but they cannot accept. My receipt BT order number is ******** and my customer number is ******. I hope this issue can be resolved soon, but I cannot see myself willing to work with this company in the near future. This process should not be this complicated.

Customer sent in only part of the documentation needed. We needed to be able to see how many tires and what type of tire were purchased in order to approve his claim. As a good will gesture we have gone ahead and approved his submission without the necessary paperwork. Someone will be reaching out to the customer to let him know that the ********************** card is being processed.

I purchased 4 Michelin Defender ***********/4/2022 in order to receive a $70 discount. I was never sent my initial refund and I had to call and complain. Once they finally sent me a refund as **** gift card for $70 for buying a complete set of new tires, they took my $70 away claiming that my money had expired on 10/31/23, an expiration date of 6 months. The call center said they are not authorized to help anyone after the 6 month period and they were going to keep my money. This was a very upsetting situation, and I would like my money back as an extension or another form of refund if possible. Thank you!

Both of the customers cards never made it to his address nor were they returned as undeliverable. When the customer called back in about the second card and was escalated to a supervisor they should have offered to send him a check in the place of the card that never made it to the customer. I apologize for the error of my employee. We are requesting that a check be sent to the customer and will be contacting him to let him know how we are resolving the situation.

I purchased Tires through my local dealership and was told there was a $100 rebate offered through Michelin for purchasing at the dealership. I went through the process of getting the rebate issued with no issues. When I received the rebate, it was issued as a rewards card and not as a **** gift card it was supposed to be. It got tucked away in a pile of **** gift cards not expecting it to be a problem. When I pulled this the card out months later to use it, I found it had "expired." I had been issued not a **** Gift Card but a rewards card that could be used anywhere **** was accepted with an expiration date. Michelin placed an expiration date on money that was not theirs. When I called to ask about getting a new card that was not expired with my funds they refused to do so. A rebate is a partial refund a reward is an incentive to purchase. These are two distinctly different things and Michelin needs to uphold the rebate that was promised.

The original card was mailed out over a year ago and all cards have a six month expiration date. As a courtesy we will honor the original card and will be sending the customer the $70. We will be contacting the customer to let them know when to expect the reward.

On August 31st, 2023 filed a submission for $100 rebate for purchasing qualifying Michelin tires. Clicked to option for a gift card to be sent to my email address. Submission was approved on September 8, 2023. Never received a gift card as of todays date. Michelin Consumer Reward Center (aka tirerewardcenter.com, aka Michelin Fulfillment Center) claims it was send via physical mail, though an email card was selected. Physical mail copy was not received either. Upon speaking with them again they said it will be sent via mail again (though there is no record of it ever sent at all) and will arrive in 4 more weeks.I would like to receive a gift card, via email of $100 value as advertised to me.Beware that they will keep lying to you until you give up trying. I am aware that rebates are often hard to receive as the sender typically uses unethical business practices, but hope this review will be helpful in the battle to eliminate this scam. Its a shame that a long standing well respected company like Michelin engages in business practices like these.

The rebate has an option for a virtual or physical card. On this account a physical card was selected and mailed on 9/15/23. The customer called into the ********************************************* to inform us that they never received the rebate and it was reissued on 11/13/23. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of the card. A supervisor in the reward center attempted to contact the customer to verify the address is correct. It was mailed *******************************************************. If this is not the correct address, please let me know.

I am rejecting this response because:

As stated prior, a virtual card was originally requested. Business is refusing to to send virtual card they agreed to and using physical mail as an excuse to hide that they are not sending the card. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting behavior.

      Sincerely,

I bought tires ***** Tire and Auto Center. The customer service guy told me ********************** was offering a rebate for their tire purchase within a certain timeframe. I purchased my tires on 7/15/23. I emailed my receipt to ************************************************************ on 7/17/23. I called multiple times to check the status of for my rebate and ******* told me she didnt see my email and asked me if I sent it to the correct email address. I said yes. Then she told me to sent it back to them and I did. I called another time and ******* pretended no to hear me on the phone and hung on me. Then today 10/19/23 I received an email saying I wasnt eligible for the rebate because my submission was postmarked after the submission deadline. Well this was a slap in the face bc I purchased the most expensive tires for my van because of the rebate. I believe this company ripped me off.

I apologize for the experience the customer has received. Unfortunately this rebate was held up by our data control team due the the mismatched address. This should not have happened and should have been fixed when the customer called. This is not normal for us and everyone involved has been coached as to what should have happened. We approved the claim on 10/20 and someone has reached out to the customer to let them know.

Hello. I received a rebate through Michelin on tires purchased back in January. I filled out the rebate form and received a $70 Reward Card in the mail. I went to activate the card in order to use before its expiration date at the end of the month; however, it is saying I have a $0 balance even though it is displaying no transactions as occurring. I tried to get transferred over to a **************** representative several times, but, after waiting about 10 seconds, my call gets disconnected each time. I then looked up online if other people have had issues with their card, and it seems like this is a common problem which is why I'm writing the complaint as I do not know what other way to try to resolve this. Thank you.

      Business response

      08/29/2023

Not sure why customer was being disconnected this is the first we have heard about that and will check into our IVR to see if there are any issues. When customer tried to activate her card the bank that issues the card had the expiration date as 8/21/2023 instead of 8/31/2023. This was an unfortunate error. We are reaching out to the customer to get this resolved by sending her a check in place of the card that she was unable to use.

I have a Michelin Reward **** Card which was issued as part of a promotional rebate for a tire purchase. I used the reward card for a $46.98 online purchase on 7/22/23, and later learned that the website in which I made the purchase is a fraudulent website. The website in which I made the purchase will not refund my money. I contacted Michelin Reward Card to request that they reverse the transaction - debit the company of the $46.98 purchase and credit my card back for the same amount. They refuse to reverse the transaction.

A dispute with the funding bank should have been started when the customer called in about this issue. The person who handled the call will be coached. In the meantime we are starting a dispute with the bank on the customers behalf and will be reaching out to him to explain the process.
