On June 6,2023, the repair facility filed a claim under the contract. The repair facility reported a broken transmission cooler line, no transmission fluid, and the transmission had an internal failure and was slipping. The vehicle displayed diagnostic trouble codes P0741 and P1744, which relate to the torque converter clutch, and P1783, indicating a transmission over-temperature condition.Endurance dispatched an independent inspector to confirm the repair facilitys findings.
Upon review of the inspection, the technician showed that the transmission cooler line was broken in half, which resulted in all the transmission fluid pumping out of the vehicle. The transmission shuttered in fifth gear when accelerating, and a fluid sample had a strong odor and contained fine metallic debris.
Endurance authorized the initial failure of the transmission cooler line for $296.83. The subsequent damage to the transmission resulted from the continued operation of the vehicle in a low fluid condition, and the contract excluded the repair under Section X, which states coverage is not provided for

I am rejecting this response because:
The first problem, caused the transmission fluid to leak. All I was told. Is that the transmission was not coverd, becouse there was no transmission fuild in the transmission. There was nothing else I was told about, why my transmission was not covered.

I ******************* through endurance on March 26, 2023. After my 30 waiting period and driving the car over ***** miles it broke down on the interstate it just stopped pulling. I pulled over to the side of the road and all the fluid leaked out at 1 time there was no previous leaks coming from the car at all. I called endurance to get a tow and I was told that I was not covered but in my contract it says I am I had to pay ****** out of pocket for the tow. When the car went to the shop the mechanic told me that the transmission had failed. I filed a claim an adjustor was sent out and they said it was not the transmission but it was the transmission coolant they denied to fix the transmission they said they will fix the cause of the problem but not the problem. Once the transmission coolant was fixed the car still would not pull and they said that they will not cover to fix the transmission which is clearly stated in my contract that transmission is covered if any internally lubricated parts cause breakdown. I paid the deductable after what they did cover was fixed I tried to cancel the service and they told me that I had to pay for another month if I wanted the shop to be paid its money I said why should I have to pay another month if the service has been provided they lowered my rate by 20$ but still refused to fix the car. I think this company is a scam and dont hold up to their contract.Business Response

On 5/23,the repair facility filed a claim under the contract. The repair facility reported that the transmission was burnt up, all the gears were lost, the transmission fluid was burnt, and the oil pan was full of metal. Endurance dispatched an independent inspector to confirm the repair facilitys findings.
Upon review, the inspection showed that the vehicle displayed diagnostic trouble code P0746, there was an active leak from the transmission cooler, and the transmission fluid was low, dark, and burnt. A significant amount of blown-back fluid was identified on the vehicle from the transmission cooler leak.
Endurance authorized the initial failure of the transmission cooler for $648.60. The subsequent damage to the transmission resulted from the continued operation of the vehicle in a low fluid condition, and the contract excluded the repair under Section VIII, which states that coverage is not provided for
I. For any Breakdown caused by failure to maintain proper levels of lubrication, lubricant blockage, coolant blockage, lack of lubrication or carbon buildup.

I am rejecting this response because:The car never had a slow leak and there is no code to tell if there is a slow leak on a car that doesnt make any sense. And as I stated before all the fluid leaked out at one time hence why the tow was 375$ in which I paid out of pocket and was told that I didnt have towing coverage when I did. There is also no code to show or tell when a check engine light came on and they told me in one of the recorded calls that he checked that. The probability of the car knocking off at one is much more higher than the causes and statements you issued. It dont make sense for me to still owe 13,789$ on a car and let it breakdown if I had known something was wrong with the car I wouldve been put it in the shop.

I filed a claim on May 19th through my dealership. The claim number is ********. I finally was able to speak to an adjuster and get me vehicle evaluated. It turned out that I needed a transmission. Well the adjuster ordered the transmission without the torque converter. Initially I was told that he only payment that I would make was the ****** deductible. They have now come back and said because the wrong transmission was ordered, somehow, I 'm now expected to pay ******* in addition to the ****** deductible. As of today, my car is still unrepaired and don't have the use of a vehicle. I have been told that my rental coveral will only cover me for the time that the vehicle is actually being repaired. I have attached a copy of my contract and would like Endurance to honor the ****** deductible and move forward with ensuring that I get a rental car until my vehicle is repaired. It's ******** to think that I'm being punished for their lack of responsiveness and professionalism.Business Response

On June 13, 2023, I noticed lights illuminated on the instrument panel and drove the vehicle to ********************* which is located approximately 8 miles from my residence so they could perform a diagnostic. ********************* is a listed shop with Endurance. The shop ran the diagnostic and determined the vehicle needed the timing belt replaced. I received a text from the shop rep 6/15 advising the claim was submitted to Endurance. I called Endurance 6/16 to follow up on the claim because I had not received any correspondence from Endurance acknowledging the claim. On 6/16, I was told by a customer ********************** rep they were sending someone to the shop to inspect the vehicle. I was also told they needed service records from 9/15/22, 12/1/22, and the last 2 oil change receipts. I submitted the requested information via email to Endurance on 6/19/23.On 6/21, I received a text from ********************* rep asking that I forward service records from 9/15 and 12/1 and I responded that I had already emailed the docs but I sent then again directly to ******************************************** On 6/23, I spoke with the shop rep and he told me Endurance approved the timing belt but when they did the tear down, they saw alot of metal in the engine which caused enough damage to warrant a engine replacement. The shop rep said the adjuster at Endurance told him the vehicle had been driven knowingly causing more problems. I attempted to contact the adjuster with Endurance and was told the shop rep could only speak with the adjuster so I contacted the shop back and spoke with shop *************** to shop rep, I had the vehicle towed from *********** directly to a shop and had to end up having the transmission rebuilt and since then, the vehicle had been serviced every month for an oil change due to the high mileage and I provided receipts to support. I was told by Endurance due to exclusion O, they would not cover the engine. There is nothing in this exclusion that applies.Business Response

Thank you for brining this to our attention. A manager from Endurance has reached out to the consumer and explained the claim is detail. Letter O in the consumer's contract states:
Continued operation includes Your failure to observe warning lights,[...] and not protecting Your Vehicle by continuing to drive creating damage beyond the initial failure.
The initial cause of failure to the timing chains has been authorized and the additional issues resulting from the continued operation could not be authorized. Please be advised that Endurance contracts include complimentary roadside assistance benefits, including towing services. These benefits are for the consumer's safety, avoiding the need to operate a failed vehicle, and assisting the consumer in protecting the vehicle from any subsequent damage. $1,917.17 has been authorized towards the repair of the vehicle.

Complaint: 20272702
I am rejecting this response because: Endurance has not supported their decision. They have provided their definition of continued operation in their response to my complaint. No where in the contact is the definition of continued operation provided. Additionally the definition provided does not apply to the chain of events. The shop representative told me he was told the replacement of the engine was denied because I continued to drive the vehicle after a transmission issue that was claimed and denied by Endurance. I told the shop representative I paid to have the transmission rebuilt and no miles were driven on the vehicle until the repairs were done. The shop representative asked me to submit the receipts to Endurance and I did. The documentation supported the vehicle had not been driven from the time the transmission claim was reported until the repair. After submitting that documentation, I was asked to submit the oil change receipts and those were submitted. Everything Endurance has requested, we have provided.
As stated in my complaint, I never had the opportunity to speak with anyone that could make a decision on the claim. In one of the conversations, I was told I should have had the vehicle towed when I saw the warning lights instead of driving it to the body shop. As I have stated previously, the vehicle was serviced pretty much on a monthly basis due to the high miles. I am not a mechanic and I rely on those service appointments to provide feedback on the condition of the vehicle. The vehicle was not leaking oil, knocking, or gave me any indication something serious was wrong. The fact that the warning lights came on was the vehicles way of communicating that something was going on. I immediately called the shop and told the the color of the warning lights and was told to bring it in.
Endurance has quoted Exclusion O as the reason for not covering the engine. I have done everything I could to protect my vehicle. Based on the conversations Ive had with the reps, I should know without specific instructions what they mean by continued operation. The warning lights that were illuminated were just that.there was nothing illuminated that communicated not to drive the vehicle 7 miles to the shop.
The owners manual provides very clear instructions on what to do with each warning light which I am sure this was the reason why the shop representative inquired about the lights.
Endurance has added a definition to this response that should have been listed in the contract as a reason for a part to be excluded.
Sincerely,
*************************Business Response

The initial cause of failure to the timing chains has been authorized and the additional issues resulting from the continued operation could not be authorized. The contract has a section entitled YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES on page 7. On the following page, there are steps on FILING A CLAIM. Step 1, Prevent Further Damage - Take immediate action to prevent further damage to Your Vehicle. This Contract will not cover the damage caused by continued operation. The coverage has been cancelled per the consumers request. $1,917.17 has been authorized towards the repair of the vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because: there was no continued operation of the vehicle and Endurance has not supported their denial of the claim for the engine. Yes, they paid for the timing belt because it was owed. They also owe for the engine. The fact that I cancelled the contract today has no bearing on the denied claim on a contract that was in force at the time of the denial. I found it very convenient for Endurance to submit this response the same day the contract was cancelled.

The date the issue started was 4/29/2023. I have paid for their top service for the warranty on my vehicle for over a year. I even paid extra for the unlimited mileage on the warranty. When I purchased it they told me everything was covered. I took my vehicle in for tires and they noticed an issue with the calipers and quoted me to get the repairs. I instantly called endurance to inform them because the parts were covered and they denied the claim saying I drove the vehicle like that when in fact there was no way I could have known the issue was there without the truck apart to see. They did not uphold their promises and made me very uncomfortable paying them the amount I was so I cancelled the policy and and paid out of pocket to repair the vehicle. They do not stand by their word nor honor their policies. They only take money and scam people. I have been trying to get my money back and all they say is you didn't contact us and we need this info, it's going to be 4-6 weeks to receive payment. I have been going through this for almost 2 and half months. They only give me a run around and I have to contact them just to get a new story and be told it will be another 4 weeks. The company is a complete scam and people are losing time and money dealing with them.Business Response

I purchase a policy with ENDURANCE on May 11th and they drafted $129.07 from account. Not did they take my money but they also rig my odometer with false number other then what I told them what it was. So that was very detasteful.. I canceled my contract on May 23rd as of yet they have not given me my refund but they claim it a 30 day back guarantee. So i will be filing legal matter here soon, which the process is beginning. I have a warranty with Endurance and they refused to pay for my car repairs because they said ********* put the wrong oil in so it voided the contract. ********* states that the oil they put in was recommended to them by ******* and that's the same oil weight they put in all automobiles of that model and year. My truck wouldn't start not getting fuel had it towed to dealership they checked it out it's not getting fuel but Endurance won't fix it dealer said so I payed to have it towed home . Where I found the bleeder leaking so I replaced it . Then it still wouldn't fire over . So now I put a pump on replaced the whole filter assembly and tried again . No o start but if I primed it with a shot of starting fuel it would start and run till it was shut off . So it seems I've come a ways at getting it figured out by myself since . They won't pay to have it fixed correctly. . I even had to pay for the diagnosis of the truck . So all I was told before I got the policy seems to be a fat lie all I want is them to do what they told me of I break down take it to the shop and it will be fixed . A friend of mine had same issue with endurance not wanting to pay for what they said would be fixedBusiness Response

The contract purchased by the consumer is a stated component coverage. This means that all eligible parts and components are listed by name in the schedule of coverage found in the contract. Any part not listed is not eligible for coverage.
On 6/29/23, the repair facility filed a claim under the contract. The reported failure of the fuel filter housing is not a listed component under the consumers contract, and Endurance could not authorize the repair. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify the details of the consumers claim.

My power steering and the windshield wipers were acting up and I took it into the **** dealership and they informed me that the I lost my power steering and the windshield wipers works but it will not shut off sometimes. Endurance approved part of the work and I have to pay $700.00 of the repairs when I took the insurance they stated that they would pay everything except the $100.00 deductible. So, they stated they would pay for the unit but they will not pay for it to be programmed. So, I have to pay for it to be programmed which is about $500.00. and I have to pay $200.00 to get the windshield wiper switch fixed as well. Also, they will not pay for the switch due to it working sometimes and not the others. When the adjuster arrived the switch was working that day. So, that is where we stand now. What I do not understand they are paying for the unit but will not pay to have it programmed. I would like for them to pay for the repairs and I do not mind paying my deductible which is $100.00Business Response

Per our previous response, reasonable expenses are not to exceed the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) for parts, and the repair facilitys published hourly labor rate multiplied by the appropriate operation time, as published in a national labor time guide. Any amount requested from the repair facility that is more than the consumers deductible is likely due to the repair facility charging more than what is called for in the national labor time guide.

So Ive had my car in the shop for a little while now and this company has given me nothing but a hard time. One manager was very helpful but when dealing with an adjuster he seems very unprofessional and keeps on acting like we havent submitted everything hes asked for multiple times while hes on the phone. Im only 23 years old and imagine walking 2 hours and 30 mins to and from work each day. They were quick to take my payment but take forever to help out a customer. I just want this whole situation out behind me. I need my car back but they constantly keep trying to blame the shop for not sending information when they are and I physically was standing in the shop with the adjuster on the phone. I have been waiting for an inspector for almost 2 weeks already. Car was torn down at their request and still no answer from them. I was told by a manager that the engine would be covered under my plan but no action has been taken to move forwards. I need my car and Im tired of receiving the run around treatment.Business Response
