An agreement was made with National Credit and Collection on Nov 10,2022. here known as NCCI for $62.50 x 6/mth w/automatic payments. 1 payment of $62.50 on Nov 10, 1 payment of $62.50 on Dec 10.On or about Jan 8 2023, a payment was made for the sum of $250. Which paid the account in full for amount owed to Duly Health. On Jan 11 2023 an automatic payment of $62.50 was processed by my bank account through Chase. Resulting in an overpayment of $62.50 + overdraft fee of $34. When contacting NCCI on Jan 12, and Jan 13 2023, was told the refund would be processed and would take up to 2 weeks to show in bank account. On Jan 28, another contact was issued with NCCI to address the funds not being transferred back to chase account. Was then told that it would take another 2-3 weeks for refund to be issued. I stated that it took 1 day to process the payment of $62.50 but 1 month and 1 week to process the refund was unacceptable as NCCI billing software should have detected no monies were owned and acct was paid in full. Resulting in another automatic payment of $62.50 + NSF of $34 to be charged to my bank account. I feel NCCI should be held responsible for said fees of $96.50. Getting no where with NCCI. Please help Thank you *************************

The account originally began with a $600 balance. Paid with a credit card 9/28/22 in amount $125.  Made another payment with a check on 10/28/22 of $100.  Arranged a payment plan on line through a checking account on Nov 10, 2022 for 6 months and paid $62.50 on Nov 10, 2022. Another payment Dec 10, 2022 of $62.50 and on January 6, 2023 decided to pay off the balance of $250 with a credit card.  However, a payment came through from the payment plan on Jan 10, 2023 for $62.50.  Since the payment plan was with checks we usually must wait a minimum of 30 days to refund, this ensures that the check is not returned as an *** or that it gets stopped or rejected by the Bank.  Because of this wait to refund a check,  ********** refunded $62.50 to the credit card on January 21, 2023 and applied this check to his account and stopped the payment plan at that time.  Subsequently, we were informed of a banking fee incurred as a result of the post-settlement draw via the payment plan which the consumer incurred an *** in amount of $34.  Nationwide Credit and Collection initiated a compliance review on the account and determined to reimburse the *** fee of $34 through the Credit Card Payment source for the refund.  In total a credit for both the payment and *** total of $96.50 was issued to the consumer.

The account was then reposted with the adjusted payment as settlement in full and the account closed.

I received a letter from Nationwide collections, **** today stating that I owe on a loan from Freemont mortgage company.. I am not liable for this debt and do not have a loan with them...

      Business response

Nationwide Credit and Collection, **** is a debt collection agency which operates exclusively in third-party collections for health care related providers and health systems.   Upon review of the consumers complaint it appears that the original debt is alleged to be connected to a consumer loan of some manner.  In accord with our agency policies, a compliance review was initiated using the consumers information provided within the complaint, we are unable to identify or locate any accounts associated with the consumer within our records.  In as much as the alleged debt appears to be retail/consumer credit based - not making comment as to the validity of the notice asserted to have been received by the consumer, our agency has no record of any communication with the consumer.  Historically, our agency has been confused with other collection agencies which employ a similar name as ours, and we presume that the other agencies do conduct operations within the retail consumer credit space - however, our agency, Nationwide Credit and Collection, **** does not.  In summary, we are not able to take any action or response to the complaint because we have no information or records which are related to the consumer.  Should you wish to discuss this matter in greater detail or if any records which demonstrate a direct relationship with the communication to the consumer and our agency - please do not hesitate to contact me directly.  Thank you.

A review of this matter confirms that we do not have any active account placed with our agency in connection with either individual identified in the complaint.   Specifically, a compliance review depicts one account placed with our agency for ************** which was closed on or about 10-26-2016.  As part of our compliance review, we look to the tradeline reporting history and I have conclusively noted that no tradeline was furnished in connection with the account or individual from our agency.  Since the date of closing the account - no activity has occurred by our agency in connection with the underlying transaction or the placement of the account.  The matter is no longer with our agency and we have no authority or discretion as to any efforts to collect against the account.  Should you require any further information or detail, please let me know.
