This is the worst utility company !!!! They have fake charges your bill is the same as them to supply and taxes outrageous not to mention your getting charged more than everyone in your neighborhood literally I called the company spoke with three different people to explain my charges they were nasty and couldn't understand themselves or did understand as well as to why I was being charged so much I they kept saying was pay this extremely high bill them well figure it out my credit was added and subtracted numerous times I was on a payment plan which should've defaulted in 30days instead they let the bill run up extremely!!!!! High them sent out a disconnect notice by time I received the notice a couple of days later I was disconnected I kept calling asking for them to investigate why this was happening (extremely high bill every month) I was told just pay the bill and they would figure it out from there ??

Bought a house with ComEd already used, with a solar production system. The solar production contract was entered years before we bought the property. We were not given credit for our solar production for over 3 months while we owned it. To try and rectify the situation, I had to spend hours on hold and contact multiple different arms of the company. A few months after we finally started receiving credit for our solar production, our rollover set to 0. In calling to get an explanation as to why my bill changed, I was very rudely informed that my rollover resets every year. That is fine, but the *** explained to me that I should know this by now, since our system has been in place for several years, despite the fact that I have only owned it for a few months. If there were other options reasonably available, I would be gone from this company in a heartbeat.

If I could leave no stars I would. This is by far the worst energy provider I have worked with for residential electric. Their processes are from the 80s, requiring fax services. They stated it could take up to 6 weeks just to transfer an account to a new tax ID. The customer service is on track with the rest of the company, absolutely terrible. Everything about their operation is to make it harder for the customer. If you have a chance to choose another provider, do it.

Moved out of ******* in June 2024. Living in *******, we have opened and closed utility accounts multiple times and have never had issues. I closed the account properly, my bills were on autopay, and I paid the final bill I was notified about. Jan 2025 I receive a notification from my bank that there is a derogatory remark on my credit. After reviewing my credit report, I was sent to collections by ComEd. Never once did anyone from ComEd reach out to me. I have nothing in my emails (they claim they sent 1 email communication on 6/25). I called the collection agency (************************) and they said they have had the claim since October 2024 but could not tell me why they never reached out for collection either. My credit dropped 75 points for something I was never notified about. Both ComEd AND ** **** had my correct contact information (cell phone and email), yet NO COMMUNICATION. Unfortunately, you don't have a lot of options on your electric company, so this is a word of warning that if you leave the area and don't continue to use ComEd, continue to check your account (if you aren't locked out) and make sure there are no other bills because you will not be notified that there is an outstanding balance, and they will just send you to collections, and their collection agency won't even reach out for resolution before ******* up your credit.

Moved into new house and started service on 12/3/2024. Things were fine and the house had power until randomly on 12/7/2024 I couldn't get into the house using my garage door opener. After learning that they keys I was given to the house were not sufficient, I need to hire a locksmith to get in. Really annoying but I discover the house has no power! Breakers aren't tripped and attempting to reset them does nothing. I try to call ComEd but they do not accept outage reports on weekends, despite advertising 24/7 service on their webpage. At best their automated service says that the meter is energized and thus the issue isn't on their end. Desperate to stop my pipes from freezing I call an electrician to take a look. He determines that the issue is with ComEd. Great. I have waited till today to call and still can only reach an automated system where I can just report I have loss of power, but can't talk to anyone. I'm probably out of luck if my pipes don't freeze and burst, I bet they won't pay a dime for that.

I have been getting incorrect billing charges several consecutive months, and they cannot be resolved online, because there is no way to communicate them being at fault or correcting their errors without talking to a ComEd employee. If they think they are living up to the business standards of a monopoly utility with their customer service, it's clear they should be decommissioned. I've been on hold over 2 hours every time i call, without reaching a person. I'm convinced there is nobody answering calls when they are transferred to Billing, that it is just a way to make you give up. Nobody who works for a living could follow through on making a complaint or adjustment and still keep their job. Either ComEd is criminally understaffed to do what they are commissioned to do, without competition, or the staff they have is not incentivized to help people in an effective way. One issue i noticed is that they are charging me late fees, when the statement itself thanks me for paying in full and on the date due. ComEd will say its a computer error, but i suspect that by charging a 7 cent per month artificial late fee, they figure people will not be willing to spend hours on the phone, and just pay the fraudulent overcharge. With a few million customers each paying 7 extra cents every month, they are taking in a few hundred thousand dollars to put toward their fines for illegal business practices.

Literally impossible to reach them. Their website is complete dog**** and they refuse to do anything to improve it. I recently moved and they closed out my old account associated with my old email, setup 2 new accounts but now I can't link it to my email to view my account or pay my bills. They also do not let you do this online at all or fix this. You can ONLY CALL THEM which TAKES HOURS EVERY SINGLE TIME. Literally they do not care at all about customer service. The fact that every single time I've reached out to them I've spent more than 4 hours on hold each time is crazy. I literally just call the number and have to listen to that stupid f jingle for hours. If you select the option to leave a callback number it just hangs up on you. They also don't tell you where you are in line or how long you should expect to hold for. The fact that this company continuously gets away with their little local monopoly is disgusting. I'd call the *** but it's not like they can do anything. I f HATE ComEd with a passion. More than ******* and that takes a lot. Expect to go through h*** if you ever need anything from them.

I have been trying to get some issues resolved for 4 months now. Finally got a hold of somebody after over 2 hours on hold, given incorrect information. Called a week later, even more incorrect information. Called again a couple days later, more incorrect information. I have spent over 10 hours just on hold with this company to have no resolution. They don't call back for scheduled call-backs. They don't answer online chat queries. None of the supervisors know what they are doing, as well as the standard representatives. It's now been 3 weeks waiting on an answer I was told I'd have in 48 hours. This place is ridiculous.

You can't reach them!! 10/18/24: Called them approx 12:30pm. Sat on hold for 2 hours. Gave up and called right back a different number. Sat on hold again for 1.5 hours! Finally, a person named ******** answered the phone. I told her we are moving and need to change the service. She asked for account number, then put us on hold. Sent us back to the HOLDING limbo world again. For another half hour, she never came back. Called back again, now it's 4:10pm (almost 4 hours has gone by listening to their hold music) and this time I asked for a call back at 4:15pm. The call-back came in, and guess what? I was put into their HOLDING limbo again!! There was not a person there! They are a sham of an electricity company. Clearly no staffing on Friday 10/18/24 and clearly ******** didn't want to work, she wanted to get out early.
