Today, March 15, 2022; I received an email from "RFGI ... Rozlin Financial Group, Inc." saying that they were a collection agency and were contacting me via a missed payment to "EHarmony" for October, 2, 2021 for the amount of $67.99." and that they were demanding immediate payment from me. I reluctantly made a payment to them for $67.99; even though I DO NOT OWE EHARMONY any money (I have proof of payment to them via my Paypal account on October 8, 2021 for the amount of $67.99). I CANCELLED my brief (2 week) subscription to EHarmony in October, 2021; and then they continued to **** me and they did an automatic deduction for $67.99 from my Paypal account on November 2, 2021; even though I had CANCELLED my subscription to them two weeks earlier! I had to cancel my bank account with Paypal so that they could not continue to do automatic withdrawals. I DO NOT OWE EHARMONY any back payments; I subscribed for TWO WEEKS and cancelled my subscription; and THEY continued to unlawfully **** and collect from me again on November 2, 2021! I did go ahead this evening and make a payment to RFGI for their DEMAND amount of $67.99; and I am now DEMANDING my payment BACK from them and I want them to LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

The following response has been sent via email to the consumer.

      Good morning,

I am writing in receipt of your BBB Complaint regarding the account placed with for collections.

Our records indicate that you signed up for a premium 12 month subscription on 10/3/2021 scheduled to be paid in 3 monthly payments. The first 2 payment processed successfully.  However, the final installment payment of did not process. I have attached copies of the order confirmation, invoice, failed payment notification and payment reminders sent to your email address.

I can confirm that you submitted a payment on 3/15/2022 to pay the balance.  This payment satisfies the remaining balance due and closes the account from collections.  Unfortunately, I am unable to refund the payment.  Cancellation of your subscription does not remove your obligation to pay the remaining installment payments due per the subscription you agreed to.  I apologize for any confusion that this may have caused.

Let me know if you have any questions.

On April 25, 2021, I enrolled in a subscription to eHarmony on a quarterly basis. I canceled my eHarmony billing agreement through Paypal on May 4, 2021. I received a collection notice from RFGI (#********) on behalf of eHarmony in September 2021 for the amount of $191.52. When I logged on to eHarmony to dispute the collection notice, my account was closed, so I reached out to eHarmony via email and was told my account was delinquent and to contact the collection agency to settle the balance. I disputed the collection notice with the collection agency, RFGI, since I had canceled my membership with eHarmony. RFGI informed me that I had signed a contract with eHarmony to pay them $239.50. In March 2022, RFGI notified me that I still owed eHarmony $239.50. Despite cancelling my membership, I continue to receive letters that I owe eHarmony $239.50. I find this to be an unethical practice by eHarmony and RFGI, and I would appreciate your assistance with this matter since I deny owing this money.

I responded to the consumer at her email address provided in the complaint explaining that cancellation through her payment method did not remove the obligation to pay the remainder of the subscription.  The account was no longer accessible online due to non-payment.  I sent her a copy of her original order confirmation, invoice, failed payment notification, and payment reminders for her review.

Unfortunately, we have no record of receiving any communications from you requesting any information on this account. However, we requested the account documents from our client and due to HIPAA they are unable to obtain a copy of the original ****.  As a result, we are ceasing collection efforts and have closed this account completely in our office.  No further action is needed by you. Thank you for your patience.

RFGI (Rolling Financial Group, **** has been pursuing the collection of a debt that is not mine. They have refused to provide documentation proving this is my debt. I have requested that proof numerous times and they have failed to provide it.They know my address, email and phone number and could at any time send me the documents that I have requested and they failed and refused to do so.

I responded to ************** via his email address included in this complaint as follows:

I am writing regarding your BBB complaint # ******** and your most recent email received on February 14, 2022.

I have attached the contract and billing details associated with your account that is in collections with RFGI for your review.  I recognize that you have requested the documentation previously but as we were unable to verify your identity we were unable to fulfill your request.  I apologize that we could not come to a mutual understanding in order to be able to move forward sooner.

Unless you contact us again in which a response from us is appropriate, all future communication from RFGI will cease from here on regarding this specific account. Please be advised we are obligated to inform you that without payment in full, this account will continue to report to the bureaus. However, this will report as "in dispute".  Thank you.

I was sent to collections unknowingly for my daughters newborn hearing test. I received an email that I needed to set up a payment plan to avoid a negative impact on my credit. I set up the payment plan before the required date and they still sent marked my credit. I called them and they stated it needed to be above a certain amount l. Nowhere in the email I received did it state this. Im a single mother going through a divorce and cant afford to have my credit impacted from their deceiving emails. I should of never been sent to collections

      Business response

I responded to ****************** via email explaining that the email she received advising that the account would be credit reported stated that we are willing to negotiate payments to keep it from reporting to her credit, if we are agreeable to the payment arrangement.  Unfortunately, she did not contact us to discuss a payment arrangement that we are agreeable to and instead she voluntarily set up payments online into a 38 month pay off which does not meet our minimum requirements to keep this from reporting to her credit.  This is something that we could have discussed had she contacted us per our email.

I did offer to work with her to set up an agreeable payment plan based on her circumstances.  Or if she is able to provide an Explanation of Benefits from her insurance company showing that this claim was filed and no balance is due, we will close the account and remove it from your credit report immediately.

I provided our direct contact information and online access if she needs any further assistance.

Received Collections notice from RFGI in Oct. 2021 for eHarmony account, which I have never opened. Previously called RFGI in July 2021 after receiving a **** and was told by customer service that "they had the wrong person and this happens because they randomly match names to emails" and that they would correct the error. Spoke to customer service again on 10/21/21 and had to provide DOB or last 4 of SS# to speak with rep. *** stated "sometimes marriage is hard", insinuating that I did have an eHarmony account.

I have notified the consumer that all account corrections have been made and apologized for the inconvenience.  No further action is needed by her and she does not have an account in collections with RFGI.
