I hired Best Deal to remodel my bathroom. It was verbally agreed upon that when making my final payment, any items I purchased would be subtracted from the amount I owned. My final payment was made on Nov 16th, 2023. After subtracting the items I purchased I paid $2,435. Approximately a half hour after I made the payment I noticed that the contractor had only subtracted half of what I paid for a ************ overpaid by $427.00 I immediately called and told him that and he said he would talk to his boss and issue a refund.Prior to making the last payment I had informed him the grout was cracked in the shower. His employee came back and fixed it a couple days later. After making the final payment, I noticed that the grout was cracked again. The shower had never been used. On Dec 2nd, I asked when it would be fixed. I didn't get a response so I called the owner. On Dec 5th, I heard back from the project manager who said he would have the guy who did the work come by and fix it. I inquired on Dec 11th, Dec 27th, Jan 2nd (including pictures of the substandard work) He responded on Jan 9th saying someone would be out. I sent more picture on Jan 11, texted again on jan 24th, and feb 6th. I have heard no response. I finally hired someone else to fix it. The problem is they grouted all the corners and where the walls meet the floor. The person I hired said that was incorrect and all those areas would continue to crack unless they were caulked. I would like my overpayment of $427 returned and I would also like to be reimbursed $165 that I paid to have their work fixed. THe owner has also not responded to any of my attempts to contact him.

We had **** come out to the house for free estimate, and was quoted 19k for a bathroom upgrade, gave them a 6k deposit and was told to go to floor and Decor to pick out tile for shower, tub and floor. We did and we sent them a copy of what we wanted and they told us that they it was too expensive and they estimated $3 per tile or we would have to pay the difference above the 19 k they were charging us. Our tile picks and vanity and mirror and vanity light was estimated at 2k or less and the shower design and glass were changed from custom glass to standard. I asked them to explain the demand to keep tile cost down befuddled us, so i began to try and have a conversation with *******, who was told was the boss and he was very loud ,condescending and insulting. I was willing to try and work this out and he wouldn't let me finish a sentence without interrupting with insults and childish bantering. I then told him that we no longer wanted to do business with them, and demanded our 6 thousand dollar deposit back and was told good luck and he hung up. They did no work at all, and refuse to answer my request for oir deposit. We need that money back now! If not, we'll file a small claims suit and will go public with our complaint!

I can not refund a deposit untill the check clears. The customer has the refund check and it cleared on my end.
