I purchased a used vehicle from Lucky Motors based on an advertisement online on Car Gurus. I signed the contract on March 5, at which time I placed $2,000 on a credit card, and wired an $8,000 downpayment on March 14, 2024. The vehicle was delivered to the wrong location (my house rather than my workplace) on March 20, where the driver left it in the alley, because no one was home. I drove it for the first time on March 21, to and from work, a total distance of approximately 30 miles. I immediately began to notice significant mechanical issues, the car shook at freeway speeds, and oil leaks, which I was told were repaired for delivery, which was part of the delay. I initially intended to keep it and negotiate a solution, though I did notify the salesman of the issue (Message attached). On my way home, however, an axle blew out and the vehicle was disabled. I was able to mitigate the damage, but I did lose control and there are minor scratches. There was no collision, as Lucky Motors claims. The issue was a major mechanical failure. I have numerous photos which are too large to submit through your website, but I can mail. I provided them to Lucky Motors. Multiple employees at Lucky Motors insisted I was lying, and I crashed the car, and they refused to honor the warranty per state law. I was repeatedly told to contact my insurance, and the dealer demanded a police report, which did not exist, since I did not crash. At the advice of the lender, I paid to have the car towed back to ******** and surrendered it to the dealer. Today, I received a title to this vehicle, in *********. I have not had this vehicle for months, and I made explicit my rejection of it. I did not apply for a title, or register it in this state. I paid $10,000 out of pocket and financed the rest. Correspondence with Lucky Motors is attached. I filed a complaint with the Illinois AG and have received no response.

In response to *********************** claims. ***** purchased a 2014 *** 335 in perfect running order, the vehicle just came from having an inspection and valve cover gaskets replaced there were no oil leaks. It was delivered by the carrier to *****'s home where he was in communication with the carrier and the carrier followed his instructions as to where to leave the keys.***** was informed when he purchased the that it had snow tire on it and he was going to to replace them at his cost and also informed *** his salesperson that he purchased summer tires already for it. Any shimmy or steering vibration was from the tread of the winter tires. When he first contacted us about the problem he sent pictures of the vehicle clearly showing it was hit with paint all down the side of the vehicle, I actually spoke to him after seeing it and told him to contact his insurance company.
The next thing he has the car shipped back to our dealership and dropped without notice. The car had all the evidence of paint and collision from the side of the car removed and buffed off and the parts that allegedly faulty or failed were missing from the right front end. I immediately contacted ***** via phone and email and asked for a police report of the accident and other things to which I got nothing. I was emailing his wife who apparently is a judge and Asked if she was present at the time of this accident as her husbands claims were far fetched and  I figured as a judge she would not lie or go along with claim of him driving along makes a left hand turn front axle brakes destroying the front suspension wheel falling off and still manages to side swipe the whole right side of the car. If you suddenly lost an axle it stops it does not spin around as he claimed destroying other parts also when a wheel is off it would bring you to a sudden stop probably causing the right front end to dip and spin the car to a stop not moving it in a forward motion swiping the whole side like it did.
***** also is an ASC cert mechanic so he is fully aware of any issues and if it was a problem he would take care of it. It's as clear as day this car ran over something causing damage to the front of the lower bumper damage to the underside of the frame and then breaking the suspension and axle causing loss of control and damaging the side of the car. Why wouldn't  he call his insurance or file a police report? I can assume based on the fact he called my son ******** drunk on a couple of  occasions ******* saying he wants his money back and don't call him when he called my son ? calling his salesman *** personally threatening to a point where *** blocked his number.
The rep from *********** (his bank) was at our dealership and looked at the car and clearly said this guy hit something and turned it over to their collections **** to say the customer dropped the car at the dealership and is not paying.
***** I believe Lost control of his High powered M Sport *** 335 sober or drunk causing the damage to his car did file a police report obviously and decided to try to blame it on us as  a mechanical failure that is far fetched. That is just my opinion but several mechanics who have looked at this car.
Feel free to  call with any questions.

Purchased a vehicle from Lucky Motors and the engine light came on within the first week which I thought was needing an oil change. Change the oil light did not go out have had .Purchased a vehicle from Lucky Motors and the engine light came on within the first week which I thought was needing an oil change. Changed the oil light did not go out have had it initially diagnosed as a fuel pressure issue and had the fuel pump replaced at a cost of $1500. Then the engine light came back on and had it diagnosed at an Audi dealership that it needs a timing chain. At the dealership request. I got another diagnosis at a cheaper repair center and they said it needs a timing chain. The dealership is asking for $3500 And the local shop is asking $2500 for the timing chain. I informed the dealership of all of my issues but have had poor responses and delays. The warranty for internals is 15 days and they were informed that there was an issue with the car within that timeframe. Turned out later that it needed the timing chain. I am only asking for the $2500 to change the timing chain and they then offered $500 to fix it . I am looking at $4500 in repairs within the first month of ownership and cannot use the vehicle. Please help me resolve.

In response to ***************** complaint. **** purchased an Audi Q5 from us and when purchasing it he declined to add any additional warranty pass the 15 day 500 mile warranty given by Lucky Motors he put 12 to **** miles on the vehicle on a recent road trip from I was told and had communicated with my son ******** that a light had come on and ******** informed him to get it checked out to the Audi dealership apparently he told him it needed a fuel pump that was installed and then apparently that didnt was not the issue then they said it needed a timing chain replacement we did inform  **** that he had declined the warranty and we would see what we could do as good will and we offered $500 towards a repair we would not for any parts that were apparently thrown at the car in an attempt to fix something that was not wrong or possibly broken. **** declined our offer and it wasnt actually until yesterday that I found out that he had put a complaint on another website saying that we do not take care of our customers and sell bad cars etc. I informed my son ******** about this who was actually out of  town at the time he had let me know that **** had been in contact with him and was actually now asking for the $500 that we had previously offered my son had asked him why he would leave negative reviews about us and then expect us to help him after that and apparently he was working on removing that. On 4/12/2023, I purchased a 2006 ******** **** SL 500 from Luck Motors (straight purchase, no financing). I also purchased the extended warranty that they offered through a 3rd party (****************) in the amount of $3980.When I purchased the vehicle there was an issue with the hydraulic of the convertible and ***** (the owner of Lucky Motors) told me to leave the car there and he would have it fixed. The car was at the dealership for 2 weeks getting fixed. When I went to pick the vehicle up on 4/28/2023 I went to put the convertible top down and the problem still had not been fixed so I left the car there again. On 5/29/2023 (a month later), ***** called to tell me the car was ready. However, I had to bring the car home with their dealer plates as they couldnt find my plates as they had taken them off the car. On 7/28/2023, I called **************** myself to find out where I can take the car to have the ** fixed. I was informed by **************** that the dealership cancelled the warranty on 4/25/2023 (without any notice to me). **************** also informed me that they never received payment from the dealership for this warranty contract. When I called the dealership after finding this information out, the son of the owner told me he wasnt aware of this and would have to talk to his father when he returned on 7/31/2023. I told him that I wanted a full refund as I paid for a service that had now been cancelled 13 days after purchase by them and this was cancelled without any notice to me.On 8/2/2023, I went to the dealership and spoke to the owner *****, who stated the dealership didnt cancel the warranty and that **************** cancelled it themselves. I requested a full refund and he refused. On 8/3/2023, ***** called me and said the can offer me a refund of $1500 since he had paid for parts/ labor to have the convertible top fixed. I told him no, that was his problem as I had initially told him I would only purchase the vehicle if he was going to have this issue fixed. I also had asked about the Title of the vehicle as it has been 4 months since I purchased the car, and he said I should be receiving it any day now.As of today 8/13/2023, I still have not received the Title for this vehicle, nor have I received a refund for the service I purchased (****************) after the dealership took it upon themselves to cancel without any notice to me.

in response to ************** complaint he did indeed purchase a vehicle from ** he actually purchased two let me clarify exactly what happened the first vehicle he purchased with a warranty he later changed his mind then came back and traded that vehicle for another vehicle which is the ** he is talking about at first he did want a waranty then he did not then he did again changing his mind. I was completely unaware of any warranty being canceled and after the warranty was originally sold and then it was not processed we contacted the warranty company to reinstate the warranty and they would not reinstate it because they thought the vehicle had some sort of existing major issue. **************** would not cover the car and had they had covered the car and then canceled the policy they would have deducted a processing fee plus the repair that was completed anyway which is what I had offered ************ because we did complete an $1800 repair to his vehicle we offered him **** minus his $1800 repair **** ****-1800 =**** he is welcome to pick up a check anytime for that. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions thank you ***********************

I have gone through this multiple times with ************ he thinks canceled the warranty when actually his going back and forward with he wants it he doesnt want s*** talking to different people I think confused my previous Office Manager who canceled his first warranty and then the second deal warranty he changes his mind a lot

I purchased an F-250 from lucky motors, they said the motor had just been rebuilt. After taking delivery it had a catastrophic failure in the motor and leaked oil all over the road and the parking lot where it was parked after we found the oil pouring from it. We contacted ******** at Lucky Motors, and was told to Lucky Motors would have the issue fixed and to take it to the **** dealership as they were the only diesel mechanic available. Once at the **** dealer, Lucky Motors was contacted and asked to provide the paperwork for the motor work that had been done. It was at this time Lucky Motors stopped communicating with anyone involved in the process. It has been nearly a year, and the truck is still getting paid for, still doesnt run, and I was just informed by the mechanic who it has since been taken to (we moved several hours away and had the truck towed) that the Federal emissions equipment has been removed.

In Response to *********************** complaint, he purchased an older diesel pick up with over ******* miles it was priced considerably less than suggested market value. This vehicle was also used at the dealership on several occasions at the dealership. We also did do some upper mechanical engine work to the vehicle including the turbo. no issues were present when we sold and delivered this vehicle. this was all explained when the vehicle was purchased and I did receive a call and I did speak with **** after because I was informed that I believe an oil line or some thing ruptured causing oil loss this also is not what I would consider catastrophic that to me would be an engine locking up or transmission etc. from my understanding from the last phone call which was more than a year ago I had explained the vehicle was as is and if an oil line or color or seal needs to be replaced that would be on him that is the last I heard.

In Response to *********************** complaint as previously stated this vehicle was sold as is, with no warranty being expressed or implied. ******** did tell ***************** to take it to a shop not a **** dealer to have the leak diagnosed so we could establish what was going on. At that point the vehicle ran but leaked oil? Apparently now the motor is locked up? How many miles are currently on the vehicle? ***************** stated before that the truck needs a $20.0000 engine for a vehicle that cost 12k which does not make sense to me. We would gladly help him find a reasonable mechanic to repair the truck but we would not recommend having a **** dealership do it as they are not going to be the cheapest route. If ***************** would like to contact me directly I could possibly arrange to have the vehicle checked out again.
      Sincerely.

      Complaint: 20160281

I am rejecting this response because:
Good afternoon, the solution offered by the business will cost me more in time and physical dollars than it would to repair it without their help. It creates more inconvenience and cost to me. I reject the so called solution, and would like them to just send me parts. That being said, I have not heard from them other than for me to pay to ship a truck across the nation two times so that they can repair the motor theyre mechanic already rebuilt and will not provide me with any paperwork on. So no thank you. They said it had a newly rebuilt motor, then blamed me for buying a used vehicle. Please list this as bait and switch.
