My mother and I purchased a 2012 Chevy Camaro from Ridgeway auto sales. When my car was purchased it was taken to the shop to have a motor replaced in the vents (one side was blowing hot and other cold) and a sidemarker light. I noticed about 2 days later the side marker light was hanging out that they were responsible for fixing before releasing the car to me. When attempting to put it back in place I noticed that it had never even been touched and it collapsed in on itself. We continued to try and fix it ourselves and it blew 5 bulbs and we eventually taped it in place and I called the dealership and the owner was out of town and that his mom had died. I explained to the salesman who sold us the vehicle the issue and he told me that it was fixed while in the shop. I said I can take it to a body shop and get an estimate and he agreed. The body shop took photos and sent the estimate to Ridgeway. I called after hearing nothing for days. I was told by the body shop the sidemarker was not the problem it was the bumper was the issue and it would have to replaced. The issue was the clip was broke that held the light in place. Ridgeway refused to replace the bumper and said there had to be another way to fix it like Bondo. After I explained that was the only option. They asked me for more pictures of the light. I explained the light was not the issue and the salesman became rude and hateful towards me and said the owner was out of town. I told them it was going short out the electrical system. They still refused to replace the bumper. Then argued with me over text for hours. I told them i had a friend who was a lawyer they told me to have my lawyer to contact their lawyer. I said we paid a lot of money for this car and I was not driving it with tape and Bondo holding in a broken light that was their responsibility in the first place. They rudely flat out said they would not replace the bumper. I offered to take it to another body shop for other estimates and they said no

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:My MOTHER and I were told when she signed the paperwork that the vehicle would be able to picked up after a side marker light and the motor in the vents which they informed us of the side marker light. The fact that my mother signed the paperwork doesn’t matter here. She purchased the car for me so I am filing this. I didn’t have the car in my possession a week and the passenger side marker light kept falling out. I called twice and asked if I could take it to a body shop and have it looked at and they agreed. The owner was out of town both times and when I took it to a local body shop I was told that the damage was not to the light it was to the actual bumper /body of the vehicle of the vehicle and the only way to fix the vehicle correctly was to put a new bumper on the car. The shop took photos and sent the bid and pictures and once again I had to contact the dealership and I was told that the owner would not pay that much. I called back again asking for the owner and again he wasn’t available so I was asked to take pictures of the light. I informed them that the light wasn’t the issue it was damage to the light. At this point due to the side marker falling out continuously I had blown 5 light bulbs and I was getting concerned about moisture shorting out the electrical system. I called and told them this and they asked about a cheaper way to fix the light maybe Bondo? Mom said she wasn’t paying over 16,000 for a car with Bondo holding a light in place. I said I would call back. When I did I re sent the pictures and they asked if I would bring the car up for them to repair the light. First by text..it’s not a light. Second they aren’t putting Bondo on a car to half fix the problem. How would you ever replace a burnt out light with the lens and bulb Bondo in? I have all text and pictures. After I told them that they became rude and hateful. Mom and I discussed it and decided that after how I had informed them that we would settle for nothing less than it being repaired correctly and they would repair it with Bondo and they certainly have an issue with me since I Imtokd them that I was turning them in so no I didn’t want them touching my vehicle. Once again I have text message and pictures to prove all of this

    Sincerely,
