    OWC products are poorly engineered. 3 out of 4 **** I purchased failed. 1 failed a year before warranty expiration (warranty honored) and two more failed less than 30 days after warranty expiration. Thats a 75% failure rate on my original purchase, which is much higher than I would expect that close to warranty timing. I reached out to see if there was anything that could be done due to the high failure rate, perhaps a discount on a replacement. They refused. This leads me to conclude that they have engineered the bare minimum into their products and expect a high failure rate. Buyer beware.

    I purchased one of there batteries for my a1286 MacBook Pro, battery worked for about a year then started swelling. The battery failed catastrophically and damaged other components on the laptop. I reached out to customer service with photos and explained the failure, I asked them to cover the damage to the computer by the defective battery because the battery should not fail like this at any point in its life cycle. I asked them to cover damaged and I would pay for a new battery beings this one was just outside the warranty period, they essentially told me thanks for letting us know but you can go pound sand and stated they were not going to replace my battery (I asked about covering the damage to the computer caused by their defective battery). Its as if they werent listening or hearing me out at all. Im disappointed and I would leave zero stars if possible, this company does not take care of its customers, this defective battery could have burst and went up in flames potentially harming someone. I would advise taking your business elsewhere, definitely do not buy replacement batterys from OWC. The battery was never great to begin with and ended up swelling, causing damage to my computer. For such a large company it would be nothing to repair the damage caused by there defective product (maybe 150$ in damage) its a shame to see they treat their customers in this fashion. I will never buy another OWC product again, had they offered to give me any help on this (even paying a small fraction) then I would not be here writing this review. They would also still have earned me as a *********** summary, STAY AWAY FROM **********************!

    Hi Chad, thanks for reaching out about this. At this time under your information I am able to find only one order for a battery, made in March 2020. While we do warranty our batteries for 1 year from date of purchase, and we are always willing to make some exception when a failure is near to the warranty expiration date, 3 years past warranty expiration is far too long to make any exception. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

    BE CAUTIOUS DO NOT SHOP AT OWC!I ordered a MacBook for a birthday gift a few weeks ago and when it was on the way to me it got returned to the sender in transit. I called up OWC support and asked what to do in the situation and they said they would refund my original card when the device arrives at their warehouse. I thought great Ill get my money in a few days. Little did I know just how wrong I was. The package made it back to OWCs warehouse facility and when it arrived OWC rejected the package it even says this on the tracking info. So I contacted OWC support again to ask why they would refuse the package. They said they didnt refuse it and it hasnt arrived yet but there is nothing they can do to reimburse my money. I dont believe they even shipped me out a MacBook in the first place. This whole scheme is apart of their fraudulent businesses practices. They dont actually have any products and they make you believe youll be getting a refund so you dont report fraud to your bank as this allows them to keep the funds they have stolen from you. Please if you do anything after reading this. Dont let it be shopping from OWC.Sincerely. ****** *****

    Bait and switch. After falling-out the info to buy a laptop at $165.00 advertised price the price at check out jumped to $185.00. They basically said they could change the price anytime they chose due to a little disclaimer somewhere in the post. Here is their response:(from my email) Hi. Then the advertised price wasn't the actual price. That's misleading and false advertising. Please send my message for it creates a bad image of the company.
