My experience with the interview process at American Specialty Health, Inc. was disappointing. After a positive first interview and confirmation of a second interview with a manager, the scheduled meeting time came and went without any communication. I received a meeting reminder but never received the actual meeting invite or any notification of a cancellation. This lack of follow-through and communication reflects poorly on their organizational skills and candidate experience.

Awful. Virtually every experienced PT in LA will not deal with ***** due to the 3rd party review process with ASH. The provider and patient experience is miserable. You are left with far fewer choices which results in either inexperienced therapists, difficult to get to geography or both. This has been going on for years. I was given a long list of PT recs by my surgeon from ****** ****, ******************. NONE within a reasonable drive are on Cigna. The therapist I was assigned is 7 mths out of college. I had a double menicectomy. My surgeon prescribed 8 sessions. Fine. After my 1 mth visit he prescribed 8 more to continue with my surgical rehab. ASH sends a denial, via snail mail. Try picking up the phone and calling maybe the **** Patient? Therapist? Denied because I "only" have 3 of the 5 guidelines. (1) your complaints, exam findings, and diagnoses correlate with each other. (4) it is expected to improve your symptoms (e.g.pain, function within a reasonable time and (5) it requires the skills of your practitioner. The denial is based on criteria (2) it is supported by the nature and severity of my complaints (3) is is supported by your exam findings. "Your records do not fully support this plan. They do not meet numbers 2,3. You are receiving care due to surgery. This treatment plan is not supported. Pain level is mild. Your pain is rated between 1 and 4 on a scale from 0 to 10. Strength is mildly reduced. So ASH is more expert than the surgeons who invented ***** **** surgery and cover the Rams, Galaxy, Angels and USA World Cup soccer? What's the *** like $60 a visit? I pay for a ***. ***** had $247B in rev/$12 billion in ******. It's ok with ASH/Cigna that my knee is "good enough" and I should just **** it up. *****, you need to rethink your business model. It's unethical and bad for profits in the long run. I'm going to reflect this feedback to our Chief Medical Officer. We have over ****** employees. Bad business decision.

Hi ****, it is disappointing to hear your experience is not satisfactory, but we are happy you reached out so we can provide clarification that may help. There are unused approved visits in the system for your care, so your treatment should continue as your therapist outlined. Since we received your feedback, we left a message for your therapist, who has been a part of our network for 4+ years, so we can resolve any lingering concerns you may have.

The Active&Fit program changed mid 2024 and is no longer of any value. Prior to the change a member could visit multiple gyms for a a monthly fee. After the change a member can only visit one gym for the monthly fee. Most gyms have plans that cost the same as the Active&Fit monthly fee, so they are only acting as a middle man with zero benefit to the member. Why pay for a plan that costs the same or more in some cases than just joining the gym directly on your own? They do offer exercise videos on their website, but there is no value to this as you can workout for free online at any time. **************** is horrible and you will be online for very long wait times. Billing practices are undesirable with a first of the month program begin date regardless of what day of the month you join or cancel. Two months payment up front, plus program fee for very little benefit. I don't understand how this company has an A+ non-member rating when the ratings are so bad. A terrible experience altogether.

American Specialty Health is denying chiropractor visits that we are entitled to. My husband has ****** and he has 30 chiropractor appointments a year. I have United Healthcare and also have 30 chiropractic appointments a year. Both healthcare companies use *** to monitor our chiropractor care. We have to fill out a form every few chiropractor appointments and then ASH approves a number of chiropractic services based upon what they think we need. They are limiting our healthcare visits by delaying the approval process. This is ridiculous!

Hi *******, we believe you may have left this review for our company in error. Our company offers and manages health/fitness benefits. We have not managed any benefits for you since 2020, and those benefits would not have involved appointment scheduling. Hopefully, you can redirect your concern and achieve resolution.

This particular company is based on the premise of ********************************** My daughter, Who was an employee of this company worked here under the thought of gaining growth, and stability with a good Health firm. She was actually looking for a Company for her career goals, for the long haul. She literally saw employees come and go on a WEEKLY basis, yet she remained. Unfortunately, she was stricken with COVID!!! Ironically, They Failed to look out for her Health and Wellness. She lost pay due to no remaining vacation or allotment for Covid. They literally threatened to FIRE her, because she had to take three or four days off. She was in direct contact with **************** and her Supervisors during her illness. So they were in full knowledge of her absence. She was not a no call no-show. However, they literally felt the need to call her, reprimanding her for taking off, because she was sick with COVID!!! This company needs to literally be reported to the Better Business Bureau for their lack of understanding, and for the way they overlook their own employees. I am glad she has moved on and now with a major corporation who puts their employees FIRST, in both Health AND Wellness.

*** prioritizes the health and safety of its employees, and we have a dedicated benefits team to work with employees during times of unexpected absence. We offer a comprehensive benefits package with paid time off (including for illness). We wish your daughter the best in her future endeavors.

This is the worst company I have dealt with. I am presently post surgical and they have denied the care I need to get well. They take pt visits away from me. Which denies me the care I need to get well. Therapist asks for 2 visits, I get one a week. At times it has taken me over 2 weeks to get the session. Stay away from them. Recently they gave me 6 when therapist said 8, then they said I cant use them until November. What the heck!!! The month of October was a disaster. Someone needs to shut them down.

Really terrible customer service. I signed up for a premium gym membership with Active and Fit Direct. When I attempted to activate it with the club, the club didnt accept it. I did my due diligence and attempted to resolve the issue with the club to no avail. So I called Active and Fit Direct to ask for a refund and waited 30 minutes on three different occasions to talk to three different representatives, one of them supposedly a manager. The manager said she wanted to give me a refund but there were steps she has to take first. Im sorry, but what do your internal processes have to do with me, the customer? I paid for a service and didnt receive that service. I even provided screenshot evidence in an email that the club wouldnt accept my membership, since Im the one being treated with suspicion here. I havent even gotten an acknowledgment that my email was received. Even an automated message would have gone a long way. They got theirs, so they can take their time. Meanwhile, *** lost money on a monthly membership I cant use. What a scam.

Extremely disappointed and frustrated with Active and Fit Direct. Out of nowhere I was unenrolled in the gym I have been going to for years. I had to re-enroll and sign up for all of the fees over again. When I tried to contact them for support I was kept being sent in a loop through bots. I had to wait on the phone for 30 minutes to speak to a worker. The worker kept referring to the wrong insurance, said I was sent several emails (which I was not, even in my Spam), and that there was nothing she could do. I have been enrolled in this program for many years and this was the first year this has happened to me and there is apparently nothing I can do. I will be cancelling this service and telling everyone what a joke it is. I was trying to stay loyal due to being part of it for so long (even though the whole point of enrollment has change drastically over the last several years). I would leave 0 stars if I could.

If I could give 0 stars I would. If you have any chronic pain that is not due to an injury expect to be rejected for physical therapy. I have 4 doctors that want me in PT and ASH keeps declining it. Their process for approving claims makes it near impossible for my doctors to have the right to say this is medically necessary. ASH looks at two things, range of motion and strength. Both of those things are not problems for me so its an automatic decline irregardless of how much pain I am in. Im paying for 120 pt visits each year and cant even use them despite my doctors saying its needed.

Hello ************************, we appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification that we hope you will find helpful. Most patients have their conditions resolved without the need to submit medical records or other information. In situations when medical necessity review is required, peer clinicians look comprehensively at the overall clinical circumstances for the individual patient, including but not limited to assessment of current objective deficits and progress with the therapy interventions that have been rendered. We have reached out to your provider, directly, to ensure we have all relevant information specific to your situation.
