I purchased a pair of lamps and some blankets on 6-2-22 for $144 from an online company. They charged my account and dropped off the items to be shipped by a 3rd party named ******** City Goin Postal. I received a call a couple hours later from the owner of Goin Postal named * *******. He informed me that it would cost $619 to ship the lamps and some blankets from IN to WI. I thought it was a joke and asked him again, to which he said it wasn't a joke. He explained he was using multiple oversized boxes, custom packaging, etc etc. I told him the cost was absolutely outrageous. All of the items could have been shipped in maybe 2 boxes and would have cost me less than $50 on Amazon. I informed him (as well as the seller ******** ***************** that I would not pay the $619 and to return the items to the seller. The seller stated it wasn't their problem. And Goin Postal's owner literally laughed at me. He said he wasn't going to return the items to the seller and was going to keep everything if I didn't pay him. I once again informed * ******* that I wasn't going to accept any items and would not pay the shipping charges. I sent multiple emails telling him not to contact me again in any manner. Despite this, I received another email and a **** today (6-7-2022) from * ******* in the amount of $286.43. He's trying to charge me for things I didn't authorize. For boxes, packaging, time etc that I never approved. He's keeping the items as well and charging me for storage. I feel like this was coordinated collusion between ******** City Goin Postal and ******** **************** I'm being harassed by * *******. I'm being charged for things I never authorized. And the whole thing feels like extortion.

     ***********************,

Good morning and thank you for reaching out to me regarding ************************** response.

We ship auction purchased items of all sorts and types from ****************************, **** *****, ******** Auction & ******* auction houses on weekly basis.

We do our utmost best to professionally pack all items to make it to its destination in one piece using ***************** and **** as our carriers.

The carriers calculate the shipping cost from point of origin to point of delivery based on the following factors:

    - How *** and ***** DIM Rules Work If the shipping carton exterior dimension (length x width x height) volume is          greater than ***** cubic inches (3 cubic feet), divide the carton volume by 194. The resulting number is the                  arbitrary DIM weight, which becomes the billable weight if it exceeds the actual weight.

    - Destination address (Commercial or Residential delivery)

In ************** case, Items were dropped off by the auction company to our facility.

I compiled and estimated cost of professionally custom packaging his TEN items and after speaking to ********************** forwarded that documentation to him.

Just to clarify, our business is no way associated with any auction company or Amazon.

The estimates for shipping the items were prepared based on current shipping and supply and Fuel costs.

We do not deliver items anywhere as ********************** is requesting.

Our business is not a storage facility. The email invoice that was sent to ********************** for the amount of $286.43 was a courtesy reminder that he is accruing daily storage charges of $10.00 per day per box (3 boxes).

********************** should not have assumed the shipping cost of $50.00 total for all his ten large bulky items.

Solution: ********************** needs to settle his storage charges and remove the items at his expense as soon as possible.

After June 17th, 2022, ********************** will not be able to claim all the items due to outstanding charges.

******** City Goin Postal is more than willing to cooperate and facilitate any reasonable solution in this

                  matter.

    Sincerely,

    Anees Q Qureshi

    Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
I will not pay any amount.  I informed Goin Postal that I was not going to pay the outrageous shipping fees from the beginning.  I informed the auction house and Goin Postal that the items should be returnedto the auction house.  Goin Postal never mentioned at that time there were storage fees.  Instead * ******* said that he was going to keep the items and sell them to cover his expenses.
I never agreed to any of the charges and wanted everything canceled from the beginning.  The amounts * ******* claims I owe have been constantly changing.  The storage charges that he claims have also been changing.

I want everything dismissed immediately.  I have received no items.  I have made it clear I will not receive anything.

    Business response

    Good afternoon

I understand customers concerns. However, I am separate entity from the auction House. It is customers responsibility to make shipping and packaging arrangements once the items are dropped off at our facility. Neither the Auctionier or I have storage facilities.
The only final professional solution I can recommend is to have customer pay us for professionally custom pack all his Ten items,  labor and packaging supplies, and he can provide the prepaid Shipping labels of his choice of carriers, if he chooses so.
But this needs to be resolved by End of the Business Day on June 24th, 2022. Theron forward, the case will be closed on my end.
Initially, customer was just provided an estimate of services.

    Sincerely,

    * *******

    Customer response

    06/23/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

I never authorized any charges or custom packaging. All of this was done by * ******* without my permission or authorization. I informed both * *******
and the auction house that the items should be returned to the auctioneer. I have requested that * ******* cease contacting me and he has continued to send me messages. I'm not going to pay a single dime for something I didn't authorize or receive. I ordered 2 lamps yesterday from a competitor farther away and paid $42.40 in shipping charges. I want an official complaint filed against * ******* and Goin Postal. I also want all communications from him to cease.
