I moved into an apartment run by this rental company in May 2021. I paid $2,920 with a cashiers check on May 3, 2021, which included $1,400 for a deposit, made out to Solid Rock Properties. My Mom lived with me part of the time, and passed away on April 3, 2022 while residing in the apartment. I felt the need to move ASAP, and to move closer to my children and grandchildren in ************. I gave ***************************, the Property Manager, my notice on April 19, 2022, and was out of the apartment by May 1, 2022. According to the lease I signed, "Notice of intention to vacate. Tenant agrees to continue to pay monthly rent until notice is given of their intention to vacate the premises not less than 30 days prior to vacating after the terms of this lease are met. Tenant shall pay full rent in advance for any partial months that tenant will occupy property. Prorated refund will be returned to tenant based on moveout date." Technically, my ******************************************* the apartment until May 19, 2022. It was to House and Apartment Rentals advantage that I moved out early. They applied my entire deposit of $1,400 to to rent for **** They also charged me $50 for cleaning the oven and $15 for cleaning the kitchen sink. They owe me $476.92 from my $1,400 deposit (The prorated amount is 12 days at $45.16 a day which equals $541.92, less $65 for cleaning the oven and sink). I sent *************************** an email on 5/23/22 requesting a response, and have not received a reply. I would like my refund returned to me ASAP.
