Honest *** wasn't too honest about doing their agreement they told me they would be out in a week or two to do a flat roof repair as shown on their contract. Instead they brought up that they wanted half down that wasn't written in their agreement and then refused to do the roof repair so far? USDA rural Development was going to pay the roofing cost upon completion within two weeks.

Honest Abe Roofing is happy to help solve roofing problems. We do require payment before we proceed with projects. The payment requested is half down and half upon substantial completion.

I had my mothers home reroofed in 2022. Firstly I want to express the concern of dishonesty from sales team that sold me this service. After going over all the necessary information, the sales guy coerced me into signing paperwork to save him a trip back if I were to choose their company for service. I have expressed that they are only an option for proposal sake, and he ensured me that my signature would not confirm anything and that if I didnt choose them they would just shred the paperwork. After researching other companies, I decided to go with them and their response was great because my permit is still waiting to be approved. I found that to be odd given that the sales guy said nothing was set in stone. How could my permit have even been entered without my permission to move forward. Now as of recently, 2 years have passed and I discovered after requesting information on permits (not related to roofing) with my city that my roofing inspections has failed in 2022. I wasnt notified by anyone of these failures nor has this company even addressed it, clearly. I trusted this company to do their job and have been paying for a roof that *** not even be safe live under for 2 years. I called the branch for Palm Beach County with no success, then called the ***** branch to only find out they are not longer conducting business in **********. I signed up for a guarantee and was told in the event of any repairs needed to be made for the future, they would handle it at no cost. Its become evident thats not true. I cant get a hold of anyone because they keep forwarding my calls or giving me other people to contact so that they *** also forward my calls as well. Im unfortunately paying for another roofing company to fix the situation and have still not received a call from anyone after leaving voice messages to give me a call back. There is no urgency with this company to fix their problems and have left me feeling robbed to pay into this disservice.

We met with sales rep and was very impressed. We were even more pleased with the response time and job completion. The issue came when insurance required an itemized bill for the claim. ******* keeps insisting they cannot provide this and that they are a fixed rate. This makes no sense especially for roofing. We have requested an itemized bill numerous time and given nothing. Makes me wonder what theyre hiding. Is *** really honest?

I hired honest Abe roofing, 12 years ago to put a new roof on my home. They were supposed to replace bad decking And two spots on the house per a contract that we signed. Over the years we called them several times about a leak in our bathroom from the roof. They came out and told us three times that there was no leak. Recently, I pulled up the gutter and saw that the ***** were rotted due to water damage and the decking that was supposed to be replaced. By honest *** was not replaced, I called them and a manager. *************** came out and inspected the hole in my roof and said that it was due to them not replacing the decking that was supposed to be replaced and that he would contact the higher *** and see if they couldnt get it fixed. I was contacted and told that they would not fix it even though they did not follow the contract by fixing the decking they were supposed to. They told me that they would be happy to send **** back out to give me an estimate to repair the hole in my roof that they caused. There are many complaints about them on the Internet and ******** and had I known this information I would not be in the situation, I think they should honor their contracts and the reason it was not filed as a complaint earlier is because I did not know that the damage existed still. I feel as if they should replace the decking and fix the areas on the roof that they were supposed to. I also have water damage to my carpet, my drywall and my woodwork in the home due to the leak from the hole in my roof that was caused by their negligence. The original shingles are still in the areas that they were supposed to repair and replace per our contract, this proves that they did not adhere to the contract. Their manager/salesman **** even acknowledge this. They only do this because they know they can get away with it. I think its high time they are held accountable.

      Good day BBB,

We have taken the time to go over the ******* contract from 11-29-2010. The agreement shows that the roofing system chosen by ************************* was a layover. During this time Honest Abe Roofing offered customers a layover option as a less expensive option. These less expensive options came with a shorter life expectancy as well as less guarantees. Honest Abe Roofing would not take a position or stance to not help solve the problem. We would be happy to continue serving the ******* with their roofing needs. Their roofing system  is no longer under our guarantees. This does not mean we do not want to help with their roofing needs, however we will have to be reimbursed for the work they would like to have preformed as we have told the ******* in the past.

As always BBB we thank you for all your mediation help in these matters.

There are two issues. 1. Cody from Honest Abe Roofing provided me a a quote (on May 26th) involving repairs in multiple areas of the roof. They came to do the work on June 8th . One of the itemized work (flashing 5' wall south side of home) was not done because according to the work site manager (Seth), that work was not needed (see attached text message communication). It appears that the work was falsely included in the quote. I have requested the company to subtract this amount from the invoice because the work was not done. 2. The workers left a a caulking gun on the chimney! It's dangling and is very dangerous as if it is dislodged it can either damage the property or hurt someone. This object has been hanging like this since June 8th (see attached photo)! I have called them multiple times relaying these issues. I provided Allison with text messages (the last being on June 29th 2022) showing that part of the work was not done but they did not get back to me. It is only yesterday (July 27th), I received a threatening email that if I don't pay the remaining balance, they'll take me to the court. I called back immediately. Ashley said she cannot do anything and that the product manager would call me back. She hung up the phone on me quite rudely, without hearing my further inquiries. I have yet to hear from the product manager.

      Good afternoon BBB,

Thank you for today's communication. We are working to address Mr. *****'s concern. We don't want to charge anyone for anything they haven't received as part of our agreement. We also don't want to leave our tools behind. The caulking gun has been retrieved. As far as the message between Mr. Seth and Mr. *****, I do not see anything about drip edge being replaced. The shingles that was replaced was in the areas that required flashing. We also repaired some nail pops. I have attached copies of the contract and the pre-start checklist. We will continue to work with Mr. ***** to resolve any concerns.

      With Gratitude,
      Evan *****

Honest *** visited my stepmother regarding a roof. She explained she did not have any credit associated with her SSN. They told her this was not a problem. They asked if she had a co-signer, I agreed to co-sign if needed. I did not agree to have a loan put in my name and did not sign anything in any form or fashion. I received an email stating that I was the borrower of said loan. First I contacted the person in charge of working with my stepmother, he said he will get back to me. He did not respond when I followed up after no response. I then proceeded to contact the finance company and disputed the loan. They told me they would investigate and I would hear something from them. I then called the roofing company and spoke with **** and explained my concerns. I specifically let him know that I did not sign anything and it's against the law for anyone to do so. He said he would look into it and get back to me. With this being said he did not. Someone from their office called me the following Monday and said they were looking into it and would get back to me, Then I did receive a call again from the same gentleman who was in charge of working with my stepmother, again he said he was going to get back to me. So I called the roofing company again and was told **** was not available and again the same employee called me back with no resolution to the issue. The issue is, I did not sign anything to be a borrow of a loan and here we are a month later, and there is still no resolution to the problem and I am receiving a payment voucher to submit payment. I have asked multiple times for a resolution to the problem. My stepmother has received letters from 2 or 3 different finance companies explaining their reasons why the loan was not approved. So knowing that why did you do the work? Why didn't the company follow the proper procedures? Why did she get a denial for $9000 yet I received a notice of a loan for $19,000?

my roofing project was completed on 9-2-2021. there is an issue with a vent pipe that needs action. However my main concern is that I was told that they would replace all of the decking on my roof which would be around 44 sheets decking. They replaced only 2 lower feet of decking on both sides. The truck brought enough decking to do the entire roof. 44 sheets @ $14.15 each (current price at Menard's) comes to $622.60. What they used was $42.45. There should be a credit of $580.15 applied to my account. I was also told that I was being charged an additional charge of $500.00 for the removal of my old roofing. Explanation was that it would be very hard to take off. Everything was removed down to the bare decking in less than 2 hours. 480 square feet. It wasn't hard to remove at all. I was watching them. I also requested a explanation of charges, and was told they don't do those. They pull a figure out of the air and don't show anything. I was also charged for 3 bags of screws. had 1 le

       To whom it may concern,

I have went over the contract we have with Michael Simon. We agreed to replace 2 angles on the upper section of his home and we have completed this contract. His contract did not call for a re-deck or a specific number of screws. We do bring additional products to our job sights to make sure we are prepared and as efficient as possible. This does not change the price on our agreement just the same as it wouldn't change if we needed more material.

I have checked before and after photos of the project. Michael had some plumbers tape on a pipe venting his chimney and we will get it replaced for him.

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

      Regards,

      Michael Simon

I feel that when you are given a verbal contract on anything it is the same as a written contract. I am disputing the charge of $500.00 for the "Extra work required" on removing the old roofing material. That is what Hunter from Honest Abe told me, because of the te3xture of the old roofing. As stated before the material was removed within 2 hours of starting, and they had no complications removing it.

Honest Abe is scamming people as they do not give out detailed contracts, only a contract with a certain amount they you agree to pay. They should have to give an invoice listing all the products needed / used in the job. TO me that is being very dishonest.
