In February 2021, I took my 94-year-old grandmother, Mary Lou Murphey, to this business to have orthotics made for her feet. She has had trouble for years, and her doctor recommended trying this. We went for two appointments. It is a rather large ordeal getting my grandmother to and from appointments as they cause her a great deal of stress. On 2/4 she was fitted. We bought the exact shoe, brand and size, we were told to purchase. On 3/10, she received her orthotics. She repeatedly told the doctor they hurt her feet and that something didn't feel right. The doctor told her this was normal, and that even if they caused her pain, she would adjust to it. He laid out specific guidelines, including wearing the shoes for 2 hours the first day, 4 the next, etc. My grandmother did this, wearing them for almost a month. Finally, she told me her toes had become permanently deformed from these orthotics, and she could barely walk. I asked her why she continued wearing them, and she told me because the doctor told her she had to for them to work. I went over to see that her toes had been so cramped, the shoes and orthotics had deep grooves from her bent toes, and she couldn't straighten her toes. Six months later, remnants of this are still visible in the orthotics. I contacted the company to get a refund and return these. The company was so incredibly rude to me, lacking professionalism and being confrontational. I realize they are custom fit, but they caused more harm than good, and her pleas that something wasn't right were ignored. They told me I could bring my grandmother back in, but obviously, after the last experience, she wanted nothing to do with this company. The thought of having to go back is causing her great anxiety. Now she is suffering from worse foot damage than before, and she has $400 orthotics that do not work for her. This is a very large amount of money, and given the damage these created for her, I believe a refund is in order.
