    I took the contents of my elderly father's house (furniture, housewares, decor, art, clothing) to Hays Auction for resale in May and June 2024. I was told these items would be in the June auction and I would receive payment after that. I have repeatedly called, emailed, and texted Hays as well as the owner, **** ******** and have received no replies whatsoever, nor have I received any payments. I live out of state and am unable to go to their place of business; my father's realtor went to Hays and was told the owner was unavailable. The realtor, too, has items with Hays for which she has not been compensated, and Hays refuses to communicate with her, either. Additionally, there are several reviews online from other people experiencing the same thing.

    On 8/29/24 my mother ******** ****** ******** and i took in 2 Victorian chairs, a wash bowl and other misc. items to be auctioned off in what **** (Hays Auction) said to be the October auction,. We waited until late October and began calling them to find out about our items to be sold. Persons on phone, ***** and another lady said they would ask **** to call us or they would check and call us back, but we never got a call or received any information whatsoever. I personally called for mom at least 6 times with no response. We have a signed auction form from them for the items. We want our items back or a fair amount of money for them if they were sold. respectfully submitted ***** ****** *** ********

    Had furniture delivered to Hays Auction house at the end of May 2024. I have not heard back from them since them. I have called several times asking for a call back, but no one will respond. I would like to know if my furniture has sold and if so, I want my check. If not, I would like proof that they still have the furniture there.

    On September 12, 2023, I provided personal items to Hays Auction on behalf of my mother-in-law, who was moving into an assisted living facility. The items were intended for auction by the company. Furniture and miscellaneous personal items, valued at approximately $3000, were picked up by Hay's designated moving company. I paid the moving company $400 to deliver the items to Hays Auction at 120 South Spring Street, Louisville, KY 40206. During our initial meeting on August 30, 2023, **** ******* from Hays stated that Hays would arrange for delivery of the items to their auction site, auction in early October, and then provide a full inventory of the items and the selling price. Hays would take a 25% commission on the items sold, and the remaining proceeds would be paid to my mother-in-law. The payment would be mailed within 30 days of the auction date. On October 24th, **** stated via text that the items for auction would be placed in the next sale, which was the first Tuesday in November. I texted **** for an update on November 30th, December 6th, January 5th, January 18th, January 19th, January 22nd, and January 25th. I also made several calls to the Hays office with requests for a returned call, including December 7th, December 21st, December 26th, January 3rd, January 5th, January 19th, January 22nd, and January 25th. On January 5th, **** responded via text that he would call me on Tuesday, January 9th, but no call or text message was returned. I was informed by the Hays office on January 25th that **** is the only person who can help with the status of the auctioned items. To date, we have not received an update on the sale or payment for the auctioned items and Hays representatives have not returned my calls. On February 5, 2024, I sent a formal written letter to **** and the Hays office via email with a requested response by February 26. No response has been provided.

    I **** ****** am the niece and durable power of attorney for ***** ***** who resides in Elizabethtown Ky. On June 27, 2023 per request of ***** ***** I drove to Louisville, Ky to ******* ********* ******* a military storage warehouse located at **** *********** **** *********** ** ***** to review & inventory all of the personal items in storage to now be sold on consignment. The contents of **** ******* 3 bedroom home were placed in storage after the passing of her husband ***** *****, an Army officer & Vietnam veteran. I called Hays Auction & spoke with ******* ******* an estate auctioneer to discuss selling these items on consignment & he drove to the storage location. I signed a contract on behalf of ***** ***** that Hays Auction would sell her property in August, 2023 online & in auction house. Commission shall be 25% of gross proceeds of the auction excluding Buyers Premium that may be charged, inventory provided with proceeds. I delivered 2 shotguns to *** ******* at *** ** ****** *** *********** ** on June 27, 2023. **** ***** paid $1377 drayage to have 2 trucks deliver the storage contents, inventory & delivery paperwork to *** ******* at *** ** ****** **** *********** ** on July 13, 2023. There were no damages noted. *** ******* told **** ***** & me he had her 2 mink stoles & beaver coat that would be sold & a military award or plaque with name ***** ***** that he would return to her. *** ******* stated there were other clothing items upon intake that were not fit to sell. On Sept. 8, 2023 ***** from Hays Auction called & left a message that all of **** ******* personal items had sold except for the 2 guns which would sell at a later date. ***** stated that *** ******* would write a check for the proceeds from sales at the end of the month. He did not. After several calls to *** ******* & Hays Auction with no return phone calls I sent a certified letter asking for payment & itemized account of proceeds from sales delivered on Oct 10, 2023. No response.

    Hays AUCTION *** * ****** *** *********** ** ***** ************ *************** Don't go to them!! They took moms Antique furniture 4 pieces value worth in the thousands and sent us a 30 dollar check! I look them up under yelp and other sellers had the same issue. My mother has dementia and they took advantage of her. I am her daughter and I have POA over her estate.

    I contacted and met with auctioneer ******* ******* with Hays Auction & Appraisals - [120 S Spring Street Louisville, Ky 40206 Phone # ************ ****** Cell Ph # ************* about an estate with a lot of antiques that I inherited from my dad who passed away in February 2023. I first called the auction house and talked to **** on the phone on May 24, 2023 and then by text on May 30, 2023. I have several voicemail and texts saved in my phone. I met with him at my storage unit on May 31, 2023 and then three men from Hays Auction & Appraisals picked up everything on June 14, 2023. This unit had several Edison Victrola’s and my Grandmother’s Victorian Bedroom Suit. After they picked it up **** and the auction house will not return any of my calls. I have called several times A also stopped by and a lady working there took my info and advised she would have someone call me and thy did not; but this lady is one of the two ladies that have answered the phone several times when I call the auction house. I have all the voicemails and text messages saved. I also have pictures of everything they picked up and a paper they gave me when they picked it up. The storage company has them on video picking up the stuff. I need help getting them to contact me and return my stuff. Also, I noticed after the fact on google reviews that this has happened to a couple other people.

    My mother, * ***** ******* used Hays Auction services when selling her home in Louisville, Ky from 8/22-11/22. 3 different loads of household goods/furniture were taken to Hays. The account was set up in my name, **** ********, as I am now taking care of her and am her POA. Since December, I have made at least 25-30 calls to follow up on her items and for the most part, I wasn’t able to talk to anyone. I left messages with no reply. I did finally talk with a manager named, Doug, who said that he was taking care of everything and it would all be sold by the end of May. Now, he is back to not answering my phone calls to his cell and nobody answers the business line either. We are appalled of their treatment to my elderly mother.     We had belongings from my ************** estate auctioned through Hay's Auction. **** ******* even texted me our numbers for online auction items (posted sales prices online prove amount owed). It has been 6 months since the auction and no proceeds have been received and today marks 9 weeks of texts and calls to Hay's Auction and **** ******* with no response. Not all of our items have been accounted for through auctions; I thankfully kept detailed records, photo and video evidence of everything before sending it to Hay's Auction out of precautionary measures.

    We had them auction off some of our personal property which they said they did on June 10. We were to receive a check for the proceeds and an inventory of what was sold. I called th about a week after and was told they would be sending out the checks within a week or so. After about a couple of weeks I called them again and they said they had had 4 calls from people not getting their checks and if we didn't get it by the following Wed. we should call them back. I have called them 4 times since then and was only able to leave a message asking them to either send the check or at least call me back. Nothing has happened.
