While on leave, visiting family back home in Louisville, KY. I had an issue with my vehicles air suspension. I did research and found Smith Chassis and Metalwork as a recommended business to replace my vehicle’s suspension. After speaking to the owner ******* ***** about getting all four of my air bags replaced, he quoted me $1500 for parts and labor. On April, 26, 2023. I had my car towed to his shop for the installation. On May 3, 2023. My vehicle was ready for pickup, first thing I noticed after receiving my vehicle was that my tire lugs were not tightened and some were even hand tight. I contacted ******* and informed him of this and he had me bring the car back to tighten the bolts down. On May, 7, 2023. I was heading back to Charleston, SC; where I am currently Stationed, when I first noticed a strange odor while driving through the mountains of Tennessee. Next I could visibly see smoke in the cabin of my vehicle through the air vents! I pulled over and a gas station and could see that the entire rear strut was dislodged out of place and had wedged against my tire while I was driving causing my tire to blow and not have a supporting rear passenger side strut holding my car! I immediately contacted ******* about this sending him videos and pictures asking what that was since at the time I did not know the extent of the situation. He informed me the strut must had worked itself out of place! And offered $400. This was odd being this is uncommon for 2019 dodge charger with only 36,000 miles at the time. I ended up having to stay in Tennessee for 3 days while my car was at Rocky Top Dodge jeep ram dealership. They informed me the strut had completely collapsed and subsequently blew my tire as it wore all the rubber from the inner wall and was in fact due to negligence as ******* did not tightened my bolts on the strut to the spec torque resulting in the entire strut coming free. The bolts on the other struts were also not properly tightened upon their inspection.
