Dropped off a mantle clock on 8/5/23 to be cleaned and repaired. I was quoted 4-6 weeks. I have not received any notification about the clock being finished. I have called and left multiple messages with no return call. I just want the clock repaired or returned.Business response

We have resolved this matter with the customer. Parts for the "antique" clock could not be located and the clock was returned to the customer.Customer response

After clock was returned as "repaired" in July and paid for in full, a series of failures occurred where the pin holding the hands would come loose. Clock lost time and eventually fell out. On the third time in March of 24, the brass collar was lost and he had to order one. From then on, he never called back and would not respond to my call inquiries. (Similar to complaints filed to your bureau) Over the whole ordeal there were many excuses and my last call when i said I was going to inform BBB of my experience, I got a call back that evening finally. I told him how disappointed I was that only the threat of calling the BBB made him call back. He denied knowing about my call and said he had been sick (even sniffed and coughed for effect. His lies, lack of professional courtesy and failure to resolve the pendulum after this was enough for me. Cannot deal with someone like this.Business response

We did repair this clock, and it is functional. However, on a couple of occasions, a pin, which holds the minute hand on the clock mysteriously would just fall out. We came each time and reinstalled the pin. On the last time we reinstalled the pin we put a "S" curve on the pin to prevent the pin from falling out. However, within a day or two we were contacted yet again that the pin fell out, which isn't possible due to the bends put in the pin to prevent this from happening. On this occasion, the washer that helps keep tension on the minute hand could not be located anywhere in the clock case, which is the only place it could be. Being an antique clock, finding the correct washer to replace took some time to locate. Once we located a proper replacement, the customer was contacted, at which time he became confrontational and threatening in his behavior and stated he did not want us to reinstall the washer. It was explained to him that I was delayed in contacting him due to illness. He disputed this fact and continued with his confrontational and threatening behavior. This customer was not lied too about anything, and I was always, courteous, polite, and professional when delaying with him.Customer response

Repair of my grandfather clock. He had repaired it once before, several years ago, without a problem. Picked up the innards in January 2023. Waiting ever since January with no explanation. In May, finally reaching him, ****** referred to supply-line delay , and he apologized for not letting me know. Since then NOTHING..I've called repeated;y, including twice in November, and I had either busy signals at his number or have left a message. He has not responded.Business response

We have made arrangements to return the clock movement in question. The only message received from this customer, in the last several months, was on January 9th, 2024. We have communicated with the customer a few times during the course of having the movement and explained that it would be sometime before repairs could be completed due to the age of the clock and difficulties in obtaining parts for it. The clock is unrepairable at this point and arrangements have been made to return the clock movement.
