We had hardwood floors installed in our entry way, living room and dining room on April 22, 2021. We used ************** in Bloomington Illinois and Somerset Hardwood Flooring is the manufacturer of the flooring. The total cost was $5,051.56. After five months, we noticed that some of the boards were buckling and causing a raised area in the entry way (picture an inverted "V"). I contacted the representative at ************** and they had their manager and someone who installs the flooring to come and look at it. At that time, they saw the raised floorboards and also noticed another area. They then suggested that someone from Somerset Flooring come out to see it. A representative from Somerset came and took several pictures and suggested it could be our HVAC or that someone spilled something. I informed them that the HVAC was installed the previous summer (a top of the line system) and nothing was spilled. After two months, we received the attached letter from the company. ************** has also wiped their hands of it. I am concerned we will have more areas that are issues in the future. I am asking for a partial refund. I feel it is Somerset's fault for the following reasons: Before the installation of the new flooring, hardwood floors were in that space for 25 years. Never once was there an issue. There are hardwood floors in all four bedrooms that were installed over 10 years ago. There has never been an issue. The beforementioned hardwood floors were in the house when we had a previous furnace and with a new one that was installed 18 months ago. At no time were there any issues with the hardwood that was (and is) in the home. The only flooring that has had a problem is the hardwood that was made, delivered, and installed by Somerset Flooring. Therefore, there are enough data points to show that the issue is with the flooring, not our home.
