On January 28, 2022 my vehicle was involved in a wreck. In the beginning of February 2022 I took my car to Ko Kustom Kollision to be repaired. So he sent in for my insurance ******** to pay for a new door and ******** paid for a new door. But I found out when my car was in another wreck and I took it somewhere else the my car didn’t receive a new door and ******** won’t cover my door in this incident because Ko Kustom Kollision lied and said they replaced it with a new door and didn’t.

    Business Response

    Date: 03/18/2023

I am responding to a complaint that was recently filed against Ko Kustoms. In February 2022 the insureds significant other brought in a 2016 Toyota Avalon selecting Ko Kustoms as the body shop to take care of the damages and repairs. Once the estimate was received from ******** Insurance the door shell  needed to be replaced. After contacting all of our vendors and contractors we were unable to find a new door shell. Never having contact with Ms ******* I spoke with the gentleman who originally brought the car in and explained that the part could not be found but offered to repair the door. The gentleman wanted Ko Kustoms to repair the door but also since ******** paid for a door shell $762.00 he wanted the difference to be given to him to place in his pocket bc a new door shell could not be found. I explained to he gentleman that not only is that against company policy that is also considered insurance fraud and those type of accommodations could not be met. Once again I suggested that the door could be repaired  the gentleman agreed to have the door repaired as the plan of action. Once all of the repairs on the vehicle were completed Ms ******* ******* picked up the vehicle very satisfied and had no questions concerns or complaints. Attached you  will find that Ms ******* had a 500.00 deductible that was not waived nor was it paid to Ko Kustoms. Material cost labor and time that were provided to repair the damaged vehicle exceeded the amount ******** approved to replace the door.
