1 starPurchased a 2022 gmc Acadia on February 12 not even 45 days later the wheel bearing breaks and I’m told I need to replace the transmission and flush my fuel and brake system. I contacted my salesman’s he informed me that they are not helping with any cost.Review fromLori C

To whom it may concern, I write this review in sorrow, because it is against my morals of passing judgment. Now in saying that, I was never so humiliated and spoken down to as a woman in my lifetime. My husband and I were having a day to ourselves that was very fun and fulfilling until we visited this said dealership. We were shopping for a different vehicle than the one I have which is a jeep product. We are business owners ourselves and we’re fully aware of our inequity on our jeep. We were not aware that we were 20000.00 dollars upside down instead of eight or ten thousand . The GM comes into the very open cubicle and precedes to tell us how irresponsible we were by letting that happen and not being able to put enough money down to cover the inequity on the previous trade we had two years ago but also the trade we have currently. He also ask where we bought our current vehicle from and blamed them as well and accused them of being crooked. He then gave us the real time note on the 20,000 dollars on top of their perfect vehicle , and acted as if we couldn’t afford the note. Oh, and did I mention we drove up in a 70,000 dollar truck? I Guess in all his smartness and slick manipulation tactics he didn’t observe that. Needless to say, I was traumatized by the tone of voice that was used and not to mention his 21 years he had worked- there-arrogance. The real victim in my opinion was not us, but the 26 year old salesman that is being taught how to assist customers the way his GM does. Please do not visit this dealership. purchased a used 2012 chevrolet 1500 November 2024, they held it for 2-1/2 weeks giving the run around about getting parts changed, supposedly changing o2 sensors, and service engine light and needed front end alignment. the end of the 2-1/2 weeks i drove 3 hours to pick it up because they said they was done with, vehicle was still at service center and nothing was done on it,still have the same rusty o2 sensors steering wheel 90 degrees off.manager said I could pick it up and bringing to get front end alignment done and send invoice and he would send a check.upper ball joints needed to be changed in order to do a front end Alignment. I've emailed salesperson,manager,and someone else that sent a email to me,either responding. I would absolutely not recommend this dealership even to my worse enemy.Ross Downing Chevrolet, Inc.

1 starbought a 2019 Surburan the sell was out insane when i was having this much trouble at the beginning i should have just took my 14,000 else where.. it was hard to get the sells people on the phone everytime i'd call to see about it i grant you not they took 3 weeks to do a deal! Well not a week later i hear rattling when i crank it well i knew it was something with the exchaust then starts throwing codes for a trailer what they tell me bring it back to the dealer ship in breaux bridge mind you i brought at ross downing not breaux bridge!!!! last but not least i go to trade the truck yesterday 12/18/2024 ha yes the truck was wreck 2 times in 2022 was never told anything about this at the time of sale witch is absoutley WRONG! that very dirty thats taken money from us people. i would not buy from this place.Review fromShawn L

We purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Country on 6/26/2019. Since then, the sunroof has continued to leak every single time it rains. We have been to the service department COUNTLESS times. We have been CHARGED COUNTLESS times. This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. The amount of time, energy, stress, and money wasted is something we never anticipated. The interior is now being affected due to water damage. We just want it fixed!!! How can they not fix it after so many times of them claiming they have. What are they fixing and charging us for? Worst Experience I have ever had with a car dealership. I was attempting an out of state deal with ***** ** He was not communicating at all! I was told feel out application we will pull the keys. That was Wednesday night, Friday morning I had not received any numbers, rates or anything so I called. I told them this was the worst Experience ever they swapped salesmen & all the sudden with hours they accidentally sold the truck that they pulled my credit for. They then offered another truck for 2000 more. When you do out of state deals you communicate how hard is that!Ross Downing Chevrolet, Inc.

Our salesperson, ***** *******, was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and explained all the options on our 2016 Lexus we purchased.We are so pleased, love the car. **** ******, finance manager did an excellent job wrapping up paperwork. 1 starI bought a truck from ross Downing Chevrolet approximately one month ago THE WORST EXPERIECE OF MY LIFE. It began with an inexperienced Sales person, knew nothing about my truck accept how to connect my phone to onstar. the truck was not prepped for delivery, but yet the salesman had plenty of time to sit and talk with us,instead of prepping my truck. The experience continued when my truck was damaged, not by Ross Downing, and I had to take it to the Service Department. ****, the service writer, told me that the truck had suffered catastrophic damage and it would need to be an insurance claim, cost would be around $2,000-2,500. He then told me I could take the truck somewhere else, as he did not want to work on it. This is the Service Writer saying this. During this continued Nightmare not one manager came to assist or even inquire about the problem. I had to go find what I assume was a manager. Conclusion The repair that was catastrophic took 45 minutes and $400.00 to repair. This company needs to be flagged WORST DEALERSHIP IN HAMMOND AND NORTHSHORE.Review fromJennifer L.

1 starOn March 9, 2024 we took our Chevy Silverado to Ross Downing Chevrolet due to an engine noise and high temperature issue. This was the second time we brought the vehicle in. The previous attempt resulted in us picking up our vehicle since it sat there for 2 days without being looked at (February 2024). We were told it was the radiator and the warranty would be contacted about replacement. A few days later the part was received and we were told they "ran into an issue" fixing the vehicle and it was not ready. At this point, we asked for a loaner vehicle as it has been 5 days and we needed to get to work. We were told they did not have a loaner and to contact the warrant company above because they cover car rental reimbursement. I checked the rates of the local car rental companies after being told our policy pays $35 per day. The cheapest rate was $77 per day with tax. We called the dealer again and stated this and asked to speak with a manager. No manager ever called us. We ended up picking up our track the next day and therefore only needed the rental for one day, We are asking for the difference in what the warranty company paid and what we had to pay due to the lack of communication in having a manager call us back about the loaner vehicle, Having a vehicle in the shop for 6 days for a radiator repair is not acceptable. It is not our fault they "ran into issues" repairing it. I want to know why nobody from management ever contacted me?Review fromSamantha P

5 starsRoss Downing was incredible. From trading in my previous vehicle all the way to buying a new one, they made the process tremendously easy and worthwhile. I’d especially like to recognize the people who provided us with outstanding service. For privacy, I won't mention their names here on the BBB website, but they are all wonderful people who went above and beyond to assist us with finding a car that we loved that was well within our budget. They also didn't try to upsell whatsoever which makes this business even more commendable. I have never had such phenomenal service at any other establishment. Most dealerships I've encountered only care about making a sale rather than the person who is making the purchase. It didn't feel like that at Ross Downing. Everyone involved with the process made us feel like we truly mattered and that's what made our experience all the more worthwhile. Thank you again for everything you have done for us. We most certainly look forward to doing business with you again in the future and being one of your most loyal, long-term customers.
