    same issue with the repairs to my truck..keep bringing my truck in for check engine light..the put it on the machine. but the problem seems to repeat it self for the second time

    I reached out to Mr ****** on Monday January 6 th to enquire about his check engine light. He explained to me that we had previously worked on his vehicle for the same problem. I pulled the service history and the vehicle had been in twice before 

    9/4/24 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT mileage ***** repair was to replace a MAAP sensor.

    10/31/24 SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON- NO POWER- VEHICLE RUNS WITH KEY OFF  mileage ***** repair was to replace fuse block and gateway module.

    Mr ****** has another issue with the engine light and we were short staffed because on end of year vacations and technicians out for surgery. He had scheduled to bring his vehicle to ***** Chevrolet through ************** but they could not get to him for a couple of weeks. 

    I arranged for my service manager ***** ****** to expedite an appointment and a loaner vehicle for Mr ******* truck. He is set to get us the truck and I will update the file once we diagnose the problem.

    The service department started at a cost 65oo dollars then added anither problem .so the charge went up to over 8000 . Because they did not add the cost for timing chain acturators and said there not a kit to replace the timing chain. Well i shopped around and found that there a kit avaiable. So these people are really sticking it to me.So i am now not trusting their honesty. I went for a tuneup and and a coolant leak. Then they came and said the timing chain needs replacing which is possible because of mileage. Well lets say if 60 percent was for labor that means 40 percent for parts . So that is why i feel i got rook but thus point i cannot afford buying another vechile. I am almost 80 and cannot see having a big car payment fir 60 to 72 months

    In response to the complaint from Mr. ********************* to Barker GMC.

    ******************** vehicle had a bad misfire when it arrived at the dealership. Our tech quoted a timing chain replacement. Our original bid did not include replacing the actuators. We later called the customer and quoted the additional pricing for these repairs before the work was done. 

     Original quote:  $6,890.93

     Revised quote: $8,024.69

    In order to assist the customer on this quote our service manager, in the interest of good faith, discounted our bill $1,084.01. In doing so, this brought the dollar amount to almost exactly what the customer had been originally quoted without the actuators. 

      Final bill:          $6,940.68

    As we all know, in business mistakes happen. We feel our response to help our customer was a strong one in bringing his bill close to his original quote while still adding the actuators. Our goal is to always work to help our customers and hope everyone involved can see this by our previous response in our customer's discounted bill.     I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

    My complaint file number ********. . I understand what they saying in good faith . But after doing some research they are stuck me with a high cost for the work to be done and now I having problems with my buick enclave that I did not have before. I  contact the service rep and reported the problem. She suggested that i bring in in so they can determine the problem and if its something the tech did not do it would not cost me anything but I am not trusting what they are saying.
