Turbine roof vent fell off in recent high wind storms, two weeks ago. I can't get in touch with them. It's still under warranty. I'm very disappointed.Review from Keith M

I mr ****** has a 1400 Square-foot roof I think it took 19 squares but Mr. Joel and Mr. Gary his crew that came here at 8 o’clock on a Wednesday morning and started and finish for noon I couldn’t believe it they changed too tubo events and a heater vent and did the roof a fantastic job thanks goes out to south west roofing. And the amazing crew and Carmen was the ground person she did an amazing job thanks to Southside roofingReview from r. w.

These guys left off the roof vent which caused moisture problems in the home, lucky we had a home inspection done a few years after and caught the problem before structural problems started. Never would return our phone calls some we called another company to fix the issue Ronald W

Responding to Mr. R*****'s response. This was during Hurricane Laura, we have no excuse to have not put on vent. The only explanation is the shortage of products (pandemic, no products locally to buy etc.), very unusual time for all in the roofing business. I'm glad the issue was resolved, regardless of the source. The only thing I can say is we are sorry for the vent - I don't have the file in front of me, but I wanted to acknowledge his feelings and wish we could have earned a higher ranking. Where his house is, that hurricane was a bomb, serious damage. Mr. R***** can call me anytime 3378567663, I'd love to earn his trust and respect. Thank you! I would say thank you for the response, but your company would not call us back to see how you could help so we had to fix it ourself. No matter how busy you are if you can't do the job correctly don't do it. With no ventilation it caused moisture problems in the home, new flooring had to be removed and damaged sub floor had to be replaced at our cost when you have already spend your money on hurricane repairs, $16000.00 was spent on the new sub floor and flooring, thankfully the repairs from this problem wasn't that costlyReview from BLANCA N

Southside Roofing and Home Repairs is in a category of its own and I will be singing their praise to everyone who so much as looks at a house in my presence. They did what no other company was able to do in nearly a year. I called and they called me back the same day, they gave me an appointment within the same week, and Mr. Joe Fournet came out and inspected the damage, AND he gave me an honest and fair quote before he walked out the door. He was upfront, laid out the options, and was true to the Lafayette spirit that has kept me here for nearly 18 years. I can't tell you how much better I sleep without stressing about a leaky roof. Honestly, love their work and can't beat the way they do business. Joe and Southside will have my business for as long as I live in Lafayette.Southside Roofing Response

Called Southside Roofing a few weeks ago for roofing repairs & Mr.Joe Fournet came out & checked it. Locked a good price. Guys came yesterday, did the work. I asked can the they please do me a favor & put a screw or 2 on a top this guy built over my porch that kept getting picked up by the wind. They put a few of them at no charge to me. I offer to pay & they refused but I did give them each a bottle of water..Great guys, great job !! Thanks to Mr. Joe, the 2 guys & Southside ??Southside Roofing Response

I was reviewing the comments and came across Ms. M*****'s Review.. So nice to hear when our customers are satisfied, however, as the owner, the most important thing I read in the review, we went the extra mile, the guys at the jobsite (Joe F****** and crew) took care of business, didn't worry about nickel and diming a customer for something so simple as fixing some flashing with a few extra screws.. Southside roofing just replaced my roof. Nothing but great things to say. They showed up at the crack of dawn did a tremendous job and finished the same day. They were clean and did a great job picking up all the nails and other trash. No complaints.
A shout out to my salesman Allen ****** who picked up my job after the departure of my original sales guy. Allen was very professional and an absolute joy to work with. Southside Roofing replaced the roof on our house last October and we paid for the materials upfront but they did not come back to finish the job for several months after I made numerous calls to them to finish the job. We had several leaks in three rooms and again I called them to check the roof and fix the leaks. The person that finally came out tried to say that the leaks were caused by something else and they did not fix anything. Three weeks ago I called again to report that after a hard rain, the leaks in the ceiling in these same three rooms were getting worse. The girl that I spoke with said she would put the order on the warranty report and that someone would get in touch with me and come out to take care of it. As of today, 3 weeks later, I have not heard from them.Southside Roofing Response

Ms. ******* - I personally apologize for this, with both storms last year (and Hurricane Ida this year), plus the shortage of manpower and product (shingles), its been a challenge. I will get with my managers in Lake Charles to get an update and have this issue handled. I can only apologize until I know what is happening then I will respond immediately.

As of today, December 7th, Nothing Has Been Done to correct this situation. Southside Roofing did a horrible job on the roofing as there were leaks in three rooms and they have done nothing to fix this. They DO NOT honor their warranty as advertised. I would never recommend them to anyone. I have now turned this over to my attorney.Review from Robert B

After everything the entire world and the Gulf Coast has dealt with these last 2 years, my family needed all the help we could get. Following hurricanes Ida and Nicholas, we suffered extensive damage and kept running into brick walls and red tape from every direction. It was such a relief the service and compassion Mr. Jason, Ms. Stephanie and project director Mr. Paul as well as their work crew provided in our time of need to take the burden off our shoulders and made us feel we mattered. I am disappointed in Southside Roofing Company. Got roof replaced on March 30. May 19 roof leak. May 24 someone came and put caulking on. June 25 roof leaking in same place, June 28 someone came out and put more caulking. August 3 Kim came and caulked roof again. Roof continued to leak and Cesar came out and put sheeting on place that leaks. Sheeting came loose and Cesar came out again and put many more nails to hold sheeting down. Now there are many nail holes in the roof. I appreciated that someone came out immediately each time we called but I want my roof repaired properly not just patched.Southside Roofing Response

I am sorry for the initial experience the G***** family had, the reason they can trust Southside - we will respond. Yes, there was an obvious delay, based on the vast amount of damage we are handling throughout the state (being busy at times allows issues like this to not be attended to properly and we get this result), but no excuse and we own any issue needing to be addressed.
We immediately dispatched a team to handle the issues mentioned and I believe the Customer Review will be removed or changed - we did resolve the problem. If there is anything else needed, the G***** family can call the office 337-ROOFING / 337-766-3464.

As of today October 5th, we have had no leaks since Southside roofing has finally come over and replaced some shingles over the spot that was leaking. I am sorry we had to post a bad review, but when we did, we got an immediate response the next day.
Southside roofing did a good and efficient job replacing our roof in March. I am sorry it leaked. Those things happen. But if the problem had been addressed asap, we wouldn't have posted a bad review. So far, we have had no leaks as we have had a lot of rain in the past few weeks.
