I paid a deposit with Christina Elagamy (business owner) on 10/26/2021 I/A/O $303.92 for makeup services. She charged me 50% for a makeup trial, bridals, wedding makeup for 5 girls, & 2 travel fees as a deposit. When discussing, I told her 3 girls, MAYBE up to 5 with travel for day of wedding. She charged the max amt (5 girls and 2 travel fees) & upon questioning the charges, she promised flexibility. I was never sent or signed a contract but paid and booked. I began attempting to book my trial makeup date 01/06/22 and she was very difficult to communicate with via phone, often taking multiple days to respond (avg response time was 4-6 days per text). During my trial 1/23, she was very unprofessional throughout and was not prepared at my appt time. She did not practice safe hygiene during the trial (ex: dropped makeup brushes on floor & did not clean, etc). I was very unhappy with the results and the makeup began deteriorating upon leaving (lashes began falling off, makeup was creasing & dimpling, etc). The makeup was not as requested however I understand that is an opinion. After, I began hearing from other clients from her other businesses (daycare services, Something Blu Photography, etc) about her unprofessionalism and no-showing on clients on the day of their wedding, photo shoots, etc and withholding end products (i.e. photos). I discovered she is not registered as a business or with the board of cosmetology, a requirement in Louisiana, & she illegally charged me 9.52% sales tax on professional services that do not result in tangible goods. Upon contacting her to discuss cancelling services for 03/19/2022, she informed me that my $303.92 was nonrefundable (notification only appearing on receipt after payment) and I now owe her an additional $62.50 because the discount for the trial no longer applied (of the $303.92, only $17.50 was for the trial). Her last response to me was 02/08/2022 and will not respond to communication.
