The monopoly of water services in New Orleans does what it wants with no repercussions. In this particular instance they sent us a **** after 6 months of living in our current rental. The **** was extremely high for personal water use. They would not hear our complaint. They then turned off the water without notice. When my fiance went to pay the **** she had to wait about an hour and a half to pay the **** (combination of phone call and in person). They took the payment just after 3pm. Once they took the payment they said the water wont come on for another day. When informed of our 2 your children and elderly mother all with ***** concerns they suggested we turn the water back on ourselves. They extort the citizens of **** and then they dont even provide the service they are aid to provide, when it comes to water can be a major health issue.

I've had a sewer leak in my alley for the past 4 months. I've reported the issue to NO **** about 20 times via email and phone call. They are aware of the leak and not doing anything about it. The last time they came out they said they will report it but do no know when anybody can come out. This is an unsanitary issue as well as a safety issue as it is causing a big hole on my property and children can fall into it. The staff I call are rude, do not try to help, and cannot give any answers on when our sewer line will be fixed. The issue is on the city's side and it is causing an issue on my property. I'd like to work through BBB to try and get somebody to get resolve from them before getting into a lawsuit for non-action on their part. I've paid my Water bills on time since I've lived in New Orleans and had the account. There is no reason why we should have a leaking water line that cannot be fixed. The management of this company has not tried to contact and give us any type of timeline on resolution on the line fix can happen.

The reading for my **** in September of 2020 showed water consumption of ***** (in thousands) gallons and sewer at ***** (in thousands) gallons totaling nearly $1100 in charges. For comparison, from October 2020 thru December 2021 our sewer usage is ***** and water is **** totaling just over $1955 in charges. That translates to their claim that we used the same water/sewerage in one month as we did in the eight following combined. I attempted filing a dispute and asking for a review of these charges. Additionally, I spoke with someone at the ***** to try and determine how the readings were so varied. I was rudely informed that if I wanted to see my meter read I should wait at the end of my driveway until a meter reader passes by. No day, date, time, etc. Just sit and wait. I requested another review of our **** in November with no response. Our water was disconnected today without notice or warning. When I called customer service, there were 260 people on hold ahead of me with an estimated wait time of 139 minutes. Now it is 6pm and there is no one available to restore my service and/or just speak to me in general about my billing concerns.
