He quoted me $2400.00 I spoke at length with him to make sure that he would be able to do the job right, I asked him how many days he needed and he said two I gave him three. He kept it 5 days He wanted to get paid in cash so I paid half $1200.00 upon completion I paid him the other $1200.00 by time I got home my transmission overheated I called him and he said bring it back well I couldn’t it wasn’t going anywhere the next day I did picked it up he said it’s fixed by time I got home it overheated again called him he said he didn’t know what was going on with it so Monday I brought it back he said he found the problem but by time I got home it overheated again so the next day I brought it back he told me I would have to drive it in low gear until he can order a part he charged me $412.00 to change the transmission fluid because it was burnt of course it was he never fixed it and the transmission keeps overheating I could have paid a Chevy dealership to put a new transmission in for what I paid him now my truck was in good condition 2015 but in second gear it would stick a little the money I paid out just to get to work and back and my wife we only have the one truck $652.00 in uber and Lyft I just want my truck fixed and if he can’t do it he’s insurance should be able to send it somewhere but he wants to keep trying and trying no matter how much money it cost me I should not have to pay the $412.00 it’s his fault the transmission fluid was burnt a normal truck transmission temperature should run between 160 and 200 degrees mine was running at340 degrees

I should start off by saying that I do not give quotes. I learned a long time ago that no job is the same. I will only ever give estimates. I did speak with the customer on a couple of occasions and each time I explained this is not a for sure 2-day job but we ordered all the parts before the customer dropped off the truck. The customer decided to pay cash I accept card payments also. And I didn't ask for $1200.00 I told him all I needed was $600.00 for the parts since I needed to have the parts before I had the truck. The truck ended up needing the transmission computer which I had to order and that being unexpected the time frame was pushed back. Customer stated after picking the vehicle up the transmission was overheating. We told him to bring it back the next day because we drove the truck 44 miles without the transmission temperature being a concern. The customer finally brought the truck to us five weeks and 1,631 miles later telling me he needed it back by 3pm that day. I agreed and checked the fluid on the dip stick and the truck's temperature gauge said 270 degrees, but I could touch the fluid and dipstick with my bare fingertips. At this point the computer needed to be reprogrammed, and the internal mode switch had a fault, so I replaced it and the fluid and filter while I had the transmission pan off. In our warranty the fluid and filter are to be replaced at or near 800 miles the customer had gone over the mileage. The customer is saying he brought the truck to me more than twice to work on and that is incorrect. I have only had the truck twice the repair order numbers are 2059 & 2102. The fluid was not burnt when I changed it. The customer is also saying I charged him $412.00 and that is incorrect. He has a balance due of $268.81 from 12/20/24 this is for transmission fluid, a filter, engine oil and one hour labor. I only put engine oil in because the low oil message showed on the dash.  As for the 340 degrees he says at the end he only ever told me temperatures up to 290 degrees. I also never told the customer to drive in low gear that's ridiculous. I told the customer to put truck in manual mode then put it in sixth gear and drive it normal. The computer is bad in this customer's truck, and I have had the replacement computer since 12/21/24 and the customer has an appointment for 01/03/25.

I am rejecting this response because:
It’s totally fabricated I have had my truck there  Friday will make 4 times and. In response to a ballance on the repair is rediculous the first time I picked my truck up I asked what the balance was and it was $600.00 more than originally agreed to. As far as me bringing my truck in after 5 weeks is possible but I also explained to him my job which I fly out of town a lot and also he has the mileage all wrong it was a little over 900 miles I be have explained to him I can not put my life on hold until he finally figures out what is wrong I have spoken with him about the extra money he did drop it to $278 but I will bring my truck back Friday and pray he finally gets it right
    Sincerely,
