Mr. **** worked on my car (replaced transmission) His work was horrible. I pickd my car up on 1/25/23 and as i drove off, something fell apart under the hood making a loud knocking sound. i turned around and took it right back. my husband and him were still talking. i pulled up and told him about it. he and my husband looked and then drove it. As they returned, opened the hood, several things i observed were missing, such as the radiator mount bolt. i left in my husbands truck to pick my daughter up from basketball practice, when my husband met up with me later, he realized the sound i heard was the stablizer link bolts had fallen off. He made several calls at that point. No answer, so the next day 1/26/23 Thursday, my husband says he spoke with **** and he was going to come out to the house and fix the problem. Well he never showed up and has been avoiding our calls. And their are several other issues with the car, such as he didn't place the fender wall cover to transmission back on, air breather clamp wasn't tight, my car now has a whining sound it makes when driving. i paid him $1580.00 to be exact, because i didn't have change. All this he done dealing with transmission, don't know what other issues because can't afford to take it to another shop at this time, my husband attempted to reach out to him this morning, no answer or returned call.

    Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2023/02/06) */ In response to this complaint I will try to address every issue mentioned by the customer. This was labor only job. Transmission was supplied by the customer and the customer was informed if there was a problem with the transmission they supplied it would not be the responsibility of the Auto Shop to make it work right. The customer supplied transmission did not work once installed and had to be removed and repairs made to make it work. We stand firmly on our work order explanation of cost which was approved by the customer prior to any work being done. When picking up the car customer did return and complain about a noise. Her husband and I drove the car and could not duplicate the complaint. When we returned to the shop we did inspect under the hood and a radiator mount bolt was found to be missing. At no time was the radiator mounting bolt removed for any reason by the Auto Shop however I did replace the bolt to satisfy the customer. The customer also complained about a whining noise while we were inspecting the vehicle which was the accessory drive belt. I informed her this had nothing to do with any work performed by the Auto Shop and her husband agreed with this. I was called about a sway bar link rod nut missing and was asked if I could come to their house to look at it. The Auto Shop does not make house calls for repair, the vehicle must be returned to the shop. I was told that a nut was replaced but have no knowledge of this problem. The husband contacted me saying a small plastic cover located inside the fender well was missing and the vehicle was brought to the shop on 1/30/23 where the cover was installed with new plastic rivets supplied at no charge. At this time I asked the husband if there were any other complaints and was told no. Two hours later the customer comes and complains about the cover missing and was informed that it was installed earlier and husband denied any other complaints. The customer stated she still wasn't satisfied but could not indicate any other problems. As far as her calling me repeatedly and my not returning phone calls, she would call on Saturday and Sunday multiple times when I was closed and I did return her calls during normal business hours. I hope this answers any questions regarding this matter. Thank you, ******* Stephens dba The Auto Shop
