I paid New England Heating and cooling a check for $4225 for an ** unit to be installed at my house at ************************** on 4/2/24. No work was done. I usually use New England Heating and Cooling work with ***************************** whose name is on the invoice. When I contacted New England Heating and Cooling on March 15th for a quote he spoke with ***************************. ****************** said that Mr. ****************** came over to the house on April 2, 2024, so that he could see what he would need to replace the ** unit and provide a quote. ****************** provided me with a quote for (2) ****************** Condenser and air handler R410 13 SEER. The total price for those items and labor was $5625.00. I provided ****************** with an ************ check (2065). That check was made out to New England Heating and Cooling in the amount of $4225.00. The check amount was a deposit for the work that was agreed upon to be completed on April 17, 2024. ****************** did not show up to do the agreed work. On April 17th I called the number that he had for *****************************. ********************** answered told me that he has been in the hospital after having surgery recently. ********************** said ****************** took the money and disappeared. I received a call from ********************** in ****** ** saying that ****************** cashed my check there, and now THEY want me to reimburse the for this check which was fraudulent.I looked at ********************** criminal history and it should be noted that he was arraigned on April 9, 2024, in ***************** Court for Firearm Use. He has 48 prior arraignments on various charges and is right now on the run from the ************************** This is bad business. Dishonest. This business is taking money and laundering it through check cashing services leaving the consumer with no work and being threatened by a third party. Please note the dishonesty of this. ******* and this company should not be doing work in *************.
