Lendbuzz takes all complaints seriously and investigates them accordingly.  Lendbuzz received an application from ***** ********* on January 9, 2025 through a partner dealership.  The application was pre-approved and the customer was sent a text with a link to connect his bank account information through Plaid.  This is part of Lendbuzzs process to verify income.  Lendbuzz does not have any record of our representatives reaching out to the customer.  It is not our practice to have a representative ask for this information and the customer is only prompted to provide it in Plaid themselves for our credit evaluation purposes. If the customer has additional concerns or would like to discuss further, please contact us at ******************************* or **************.

Lendbuzz takes all complaints seriously and investigates accordingly.  The customer paid off the outstanding loan balance on August 8, 2024.  The last month showing on the customer’s credit report at the time the complaint was July 2024.  The customer has been advised by Lendbuzz that he should allow approximately 45 days for his credit report to reflect the payment.

On August 6th 2024, Lendbuzz Funding LLC removed my 2015 ****** Altima bearing the lic plate number KXD9448. I contacted the **** of Finance who provided me this information. I then contacted Lendbuzz and spoke to ****** who is the Lienholder on the said car and they informed me to pay $3419.44 to get my car back in my possession. I used my grandmothers credit card who is 80 years old and paid the amount and Lendbuzz sent me an email to contact what they call the redemption center to make an appt to retrieve the car. When I dialed the number ****** answered and said she was a Tow Pound. I provided her the last 6 numbers of my VIn and she stated that they are not releasing the car to me because she had an agreement unbeknownst to me with Lendbuzz that they are not releasing the car to me and that the car was back in the impound. If my lienholder retrieved the car from the impound and repossessed the car and I paid the full fees to retrieve the car why was I denied my car. I also had to file a police report because ***** from Lendbuzz stated when his company retrieved the car there was no lic plate on the car which was also false. I would like a full refund to my grandmothers credit card because she did not deserve to pay this amount of money and to be hurt by my not getting my car paying that high amount.

Lendbuzz takes all complaints seriously and investigates them accordingly. The amount our customer paid was to catch up on what he owed to Lendbuzz at that time. The customer also **** ******** thousands of dollars in outstanding tickets. These are required to be paid before the car can be released. If they are not satisfied prior to release, Lendbuzz as lienholder could be responsible for them. In an effort to satisfy outstanding amounts he can visit ******************************************************* and search his parking tickets. Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ********. Please add your rejection comments below; if you do not provide any details, your complaint will be closed as Answered.

[Lendbuzz is not telling the truth at all. I have attached what Lendbuzz sent to me. At the very top, that is what I owed to Lendbuzz which was a total of $852. The other charges is what Lendbuzz paid voluntarily to repossess the car back to them from the initial impound. Lendbuzz even provided a breakdown of what they paid to the impound which has nothing to do with me. I then contacted Lendbuzz in which I spoke to ****** who falsified information deceiving me into believing that if I paid the extra $2300 and some change that was left over in which they voluntarily paid as they would call it they repossessed my car, that once I paid the additional $2300, I would set up an appointment, to retrieve my car out of repossession. So Lendbuzz, manipulated a situation and never rendered service. To add insult to injury, the car was destroyed  by breaking the glove compartment, both back tires were on dummy tires, the left front grill of the car was hanging off, there was human blood on top of the hood of the car. So even if they stood on their word of releasing the car to me after paying the $2300, I would have had to spend that amount to repair the car. I also had to obtain a police report from the 60th precinct for stolen license plates because the license plate ******* was stolen off the car as well and never returned to the ***. A civil lawsuit will follow as this was a heinous act of deception and manipulation on a comsumer.

Lenduzz has reviewed the complaint and the attachment.  The referenced $852.51 is the past due payment for May, June, and July 2024, which the customer owed ********************.  Additionally, $42.63 of late payment fees are also listed on the attachment and were owed to Lendbuzz.  The other charges referenced by Mr. ***** consists of a $1849.70 impound fee, $425 impound fee, and $150.00 flatbed fee, totalling $2,423.70.  Lendbuzz was required to pay these to obtain the vehicle from impound because of Mr. ****** actions which caused the vehicle to be impounded.  Lendbuzz requires customers to pay accrued impound and repossession fees as part of reinstatement/redemption.  Mr. ***** was attempting to reinstate the car and paid the outstanding past due payments and fees with Lenduzz, but was not able to take possession of the car due to the outstanding tickets with New York.  As far as the condition of the vehicle, Lendbuzz received photos of the car when it was released from impound on August 6, 2024.  The photos show no damage to the grill, glove box or any other part of the vehicle or blood on the car.  The license plates were not stolen, but removed because of the outstanding balance with New York that needs to be paid before registration and plates can be reissued.

[Lendbuzz again told partial truth. Enclosed is pictures. I have a video that is too long that shows the inside of the car. The car is missing both back tires and they are on dummy tires. Both plates are stolen off the car. I have a police report and a receipt from the dmv that the plate was never turned in since June. There is blood on top of the hood in the picture as well. I have no reason to lie but lendbuzz feels that they have a reason to lie for some apparent reason. I am suing them civilly as well because they took advantage of me and they lied telling me once I paid the repossession fee that I would get my car back. Yes I owed outstanding tickets but that was not told to me by lend buzz that I had to pay that in order to get my car back. They destroyed the car so that they would repair it and resell it back over. This is a crime and I am going to the news media with this as well. Thank you! Please send me a separate email so that I can submit the pics because the file is too large

Lendbuzz takes all complaints seriously and investigates them accordingly. A review of this customers auto loan account confirmed several instances of late payments, including for payments due in January 2023 and February 2024. Lendbuzz reporting of these payments to the credit bureaus has been accurate and is consistent with the timing of payments made by the customer.

Do not I repeat do not get into a financial agreement with these people. Their concerns are money and only money. I purchased a 2018 **** Focus with under ****** miles on it at the end of December 2023 and from that point on the dealership has had the car longer than me. The check engine light came on on January 11th 2024 so I took it back to the dealership on January 12th. They had my car until February 2nd. Yes I made my 1st payment on February 1st and my car was still in the shop. 2 day's ago my check engine light came back on. This time it is the transmission and the motor. So this will be the 4th transmission and the 2nd motor in the car and it's still under ****** miles. I have called Lendzbuzz at least 20 times this year already and their only response is it's between me and the dealership. I asked them in the beginning when I 1st started having trouble to resend the loan but they refused. Asked to put the loan towards another vehicle and they also refused. I guess they don't realize if I don't pay for the car that car belongs to them and they will be stuck with a lemon and it anyone try's to buy a ************************ ***** please contact me and I have all the paperwork on all the things wrong with it and for you to run away as fast as you can and don't let Lendbuzz get you hooked into a loan on a lemon of a car you will pay to get outta of cause it will break down every month.

Lendbuzz is in contact with the customer and the dealership to resolve the issue.  Lendbuzz has been in contact with the customer since the customer first contacted us about the issues with the car.  The Area Sales Manager has contacted the customer and is currently in contact with the dealership to either have the car repaired or resolve the issue in another manner. Lendbuzz will continue to work with the customer and dealership to address the issue.

I am needing this whole ordeal to end in the deal being resended. I have absolutely no faith in the dealership not only repairing the vehicle or even trading it in with them as all trust is gone as I believe any further interactions will result in the same nightmare that I am experiencing now. I believe it's best to do that as I can't think of wanting or having any future business with them. The way I have been treated is beyond right and has ******************* me from having anything to do with them.

    Business Response

Lendbuzz has contacted the dealership about Mr. ******* complaint and concerns about the car.  The dealership has offered to discuss repairing or trading in the car.  These options have been communicated to ****************.  Lendbuzz again will contact **************** to review these options.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 02/26/2024

I do not in any shape form or fashion accept Lendzbuzz thoughts on what should be done going forward. 1 the car is a lemon and if they didn't know at 1st they fully know now. So accepting the 1st thing about the dealership continuing to work on it is a resounding no as this will be the 4th transmission in the lemon and the 1st 2 was done by **** themselves and it didn't work along with the other 3 codes not fixed. The 2nd option of trading it in is the same. You can't get half a ***** on the dollar for a vehicle needing the 4th transmission along with the 2nd motor on a car with only ****** miles on it not even counting the other 4 codes of thing's wrong with it. I told them I don't even want my down payment back cause this has been an nightmare that I'm past ready to end.

10/26/23 my car was repossessed, the morning of 10/27/23 I spoke with **** and ** as representatives of the redemption department. **** informed me to provide identification card, proof of insurance, proof of income, and a bill. Information they should have already have. By noon I turned in my paperwork. When I spoke with **** to verify the documents were received I was informed the process takes ***** hrs. I will receive an email that will let me know if Im approved or not. After my documents were verified then the next step was to receive a payment in full of whats owed. Its been 4 days havent received any email notifications or phone call, voicemails nothing about my status. I cant spoke to anyone about the situation because ** told to wait on an email response. Now mind you storage fees are racking up at the tow yard for each day. The way theyre handling the situation is poorly. The car is still under my name on my credit report which means its technically mines. Their holding the car hostage. Ive been patient enough we are going on a week. We have reviewed the complaint and have taken action to address the customers concerns.  The customer alleges we have all documents (id card, proof of insurance, proof of income and a bill) required for redemption, per our policy we require customers to submit these documents for redemptions regardless if they have been provided at another point during the loan process. The customer submitted the required documentation and Lendbuzz reviewed and contacted the customer by email on 11/3/23 to provide the customer an update and notify them that ******************** will be covering the storage fees to address their fee concern.  Lendbuzz called the customer on 11/3/23, 11/6/23, and 11/7/23 to collect payment for release of the vehicle.  The customer did not answer any of these calls and we have left voicemails asking the customer to contact us.  We have not heard back from the customer on either of these calls or received payment at this time.

On September 30th, 2023, I purchased a 2020 ******** GLS450 from ******************. The dealership discouraged me from paying in full upfront and strongly recommended using their loan plan from Lendbuzz. Regrettably, I did not thoroughly review the loan terms, relying instead on the sales team's assurance that the down payment and immediate pay-off matched the stated sale price. To my dismay, I was not informed of the additional fees ($335 *** Insurance Premium, $895 *********************** $1995 Loan Origination Fee, and a $23.87 daily finance charge) associated with the dealer's loan. The provision for a $335 *** Insurance Premium is mentioned as an optional component in the contract, but its wording is somewhat unclear. Notably, the *** Insurance Premium is not explicitly labeled as non-refundable. It's also important to note that this premium doesn't apply to individuals making a one-time payment to pay off the financed amount. Moreover, the effectiveness of *** Insurance is limited when considering that the payoff occurs within a week, rather than over the full 65-month financing period.Additionally, the Loan Origination Fee appears unreasonably assessed. In the event of a one-time full payoff, it should be partially rebated.I reached out to the Customer Success Team regarding my immediate payoff and the refund of unearned charges upon full prepayment, as outlined in the contract. The representative mentioned that their team manager would contact me later, and I also sent an email on the same day. However, I have not received any response after several business days.I am requesting Lendbuzz to adjust the billing by waiving both insurance charges and refunding the loan origination fee. Furthermore, I request a two-day interest waiver due to their lack of response.

We take all complaints seriously and investigate them accordingly. In reviewing your complaint it was determined that your GAP insurance was canceled and the full amount was applied to your loan balance. Regarding your VSI, as stated on page two of your Truth-In-Lending Act Disclosure Statement VSI Insurance is required, though, You may choose the insurance company... You signed below that statement, authorizing us to purchase VSI. Therefore, we are not able to refund your VSI premium.  Finally, the loan origination fee is charged at origination and regardless of how quickly the loan pays off we cannot refund the fee.  All fees and interest were disclosed in the loan agreement and associated disclosures, which you agreed to and signed.

Lendbuzz takes all complaints seriously and investigates them accordingly. The CARMAX report of the vehicle in the loan file did not show that the car had been in any accidents prior to the underwriting of the loan. A further review of the file and notes showed no evidence of any wrongful repossession, however, if you have pictures please provide them for review.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
