    The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the governments allegations, which have not yet been proven.

    On June 8, 2023,  Pennsylvania Attorney General Michelle Henry announced the filing of a lawsuit against Vantage Travel Services, Inc., and its founder, for alleged violations of the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law resulting in consumer losses of thousands of dollars.The lawsuit alleges that the Massachusetts-based travel tour operator and founder Henry Lewis engaged in deceptive and unfair business practices by promising “risk-free” travel to consumers. The promises were never fulfilled; Vantage took large sums of money from consumers and then failed to provide any refunds when consumers could not travel.

    In Sept. 2022 a friend and I paid over $7000 for a trip in Oct. 2023. The travel company, Vantage World Travel, has ceased operations and it appears that we will not get out money back. This is theft. The company had continued to sell trips even knowing they would never occur.

    In 2021, I paid for an Amazon river cruise. A week before it was scheduled to leave, I had to have heart surgery and cancel the trip. The insurance company gave me a travel voucher, telling me that the cruise company instructed them to do that rather than give a cash refund. In 2022 I rescheduled the Amazon river cruise. At the last minute, they change the itineraries eliminating the entire Amazon river portion. I rescheduled it for 2023. In addition to my $9000 voucher I paid an extra $3000 for upgraded airline. Again a few weeks before travel they eliminated the Amazon river portion. They eventually said I could put the paid portion towards a European river cruise. A month before that cruise, they informed that ****** had been canceled and I could take another cruise close to the same dates, or get a refund of monies paid. I chose the refund. The following week, I received notification of the companys bankruptcy! Ignoring the $9000 voucher, they considered only my $3000 upgrade as money spent. They offered that as a refund, and then later changed it only to a credit with another travel company. That travel company has no itinerary in which I will be interested. There is no offer of cash refund. Therefore I have lost a total of $12,000. I have been in contact with the attorney, general of ************* and the bankruptcy court; however, I dont expect to receive any refunds at all.
