I had work done on my car at FCC Collision Center. I was told it would cost $2088.24, this is what was written on the invoice that I signed. They ran my credit card, printed a receipt ( which I did not sign) stapled it to the invoice and I left. A few days later when paying off the expense on my credit card, I realized I was charged $2171.56. I was certain there must have been an error because I signed the invoice stating I owed $2088.24. When I looked at the receipt I had not signed I noticed I was charged a 4% customer service fee which equaled $83.32. There was no sign in the shop stating they charged a customer service, fee, nor did I sign the receipt that stated I was ok with being charged that amount. I then called to ask about the discrepancy and was told it was just the way their system worked, the credit card companies charge them a fee so they have to charge their customers when they use a credit card. I was told other customers had called about this as well and that I would need to call my bank. I am reporting this because, to my knowledge, it is illegal to charge a customer a fee simply because they are using a credit card in Massachusetts. Im not sure they realize this is illegal, but it does need to stop and I would like to be refunded.

I contacted my credit card company after I spoke with ***** last week. They are not the ones charging me a 4% fee to use my own credit card. If it is not FCC Collision who is charging me this fee, I would like the contact information of whomever has charged me so I can get this resolved.
