Why is national grid allowed to charge delivery charges? My heating bills were 800 to 900+ a month due to delivery charges This should not be allowed Please stop them for doing so

I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the outrageous and unjustified increase in my recent bill, particularly the delivery service fee, which has nearly doubled within just one month. This sudden and extreme escalation is highly irregular, financially burdensome, and *************** has come to my attention that many other customers are also experiencing similar billing spikes and have voiced their complaints publicly, indicating that this is not an isolated issue. Given the widespread concern, I am demanding an immediate and thorough investigation into the billing practices of National Grid to determine the cause of these excessive ********** a responsible customer, I have always ensured timely payments for services rendered, but this drastic increase raises serious concerns about transparency, fairness, and the integrity of billing calculations.I formally request that this company should: 1) Provide a detailed, transparent breakdown of the factors contributing to these drastic increases.2) Explain and justify the soaring delivery service fees.3) Initiate an independent investigation into billing practices to ensure fairness and prevent potential overcharging.Failure to address these concerns in a timely and satisfactory manner will leave customers with no choice but to escalate this issue to state regulators, consumer protection agencies, and elected officials.I expect a formal response and a resolution to this matter as soon as possible.

The gas to my house was off for 6 months due to construction and national grid charged me every month for my average gas usage from the previous year. I called them twice a month and was told only a supervisor could rectify my bill and they would have a supervisor call me. 11 separate times I was told this and did not receive a single call back. They sent a technician to my house to verify that there was no gas usage but that wasnt enough proof to have a supervisor call me back. It got to the point that I told one of the representatives that this is a recorded line so you have proof and I will follow through if your supervisor calls me I will Venmo you $500 I still have not received a call back. My bill is climbing and climbing and all they do is I can put your bill on hold so you dont get sent to collections but a supervisor will need to fix the issue. I was finally told why didnt you just cancel your service while you do the work so you wouldnt get charged the maintenance fees either and I said I called when the work started and at least 15 times since and you are the first ****** that said that was an option. National grid has a monopoly on gas in *********** so they know you have no other options and their customer ********************** makes it clear that they hold all the cards and do not care about the customer at all.

My usage continues to go down, but rates for gas and electric continue to soar! I would give a negative star rating if I could.

Called to disconnect gas when moving out of my old apartment and they would not disconnect over the phone. They said they needed to visit the building, which I couldn't arrange because I was moving out and my landlord was out of the country. The landlord dropped the ball and didn't switch over the service when they returned and the bill kept accumulating. So I called National Grid again and this time they did turn off the service without visiting the building, even though I had been told this was impossible when I first called. Additionally, they refused to extend the due date for my bill while I work out this issue with my landlord, putting me in the position of having to pay the bill or risk having it sent to collections. Also, their website doesn't work once your account is closed, so I have to sort this whole process out by phone and mail and cannot even see what the balance on the account is. ********************** is a very poorly run company that takes advantage of their monopoly over natural gas distribution in my area.

National Grid did not generate a bill for my home for over year, even after I repeatedly notified them of the issue and requested to be billed. After a full calendar year they sent a bill for over $2,000 with a payment due date of ten business days from the day it was sent. They were extremely unhelpful in setting up a payment plan to resolve their mistake, and their only offer was a very short term payment plan with a very high monthly bill. They did not seem to understand that the issue was their failure to generate a bill and not my lack of payment.

Last Monday end of the day had a National Grid crew home to replace a natural gas line. Digging on the street facing the house, they destroyed the water line. ****** water workers came and worked all night. We had water at *****am but still no hot water and no hot meals. National Grid send a day crew, we do not know if they were able to communicate with us? They left us at around 0730pm and still no gas connection. My wife called National Grid emergency and was told they have nothing on paper? At around ***** pm a crew came in to connect the gas and left at 01.30am.We are 2 senior citizens and we have serious health issues but National Grid certainly did not help us. Why they did not call "dig safe" before digging? We saw dig safe, but it was after the water pipe issue. I certainly regret being a customer of **********************.

Truly a dumpster fire of a company. Locked our gas meter / put us without hot water for "non-payment" only to find out someone "misunderstood" the apartment number and shut off the wrong apartment. Made to feel as though this was our fault because someone who does that job for a living couldn't listen correctly or do anything right 1 time in their life. Pretty cool! No credit offered, barely an acknowledgement of their mistake and made to feel as though this was still our fault even though, again, someone who WORKS FOR NATIONAL GRID has 0 ability to retain knowledge or instructions. Top class business. Think I might move off the grid and live off of candles and fire heat from now on to hopefully never talk to a National Grid person ever again.

Horrible customer **********************. They were supposed to turn on my power for a new account. Now I have to go the weekend without power during a storm and now I have to worry about my basement flooding because my sump pump requires electricity and they wont be able to turn it on until Monday and its Saturday 1:00am.
