Last March I purchased a car from Prestiege ********* at the **************** location. We have had nothing but issues with them since we drove off the lot. We had issues with the car overheating and an oil leak. We brought it in to be serviced and they said it was fine. They supposedly fixed the oil leak, The issue kept happening and it turned out that we needed a new motor as oil had been leaked into the old motor. I was told that they werent going to give me a rental car because I left a negative review. I did end up getting a loner from them but not without a fight and bring up the warranty. There have been many other issues with the car as well. Now there is an issue with the oil pan. The last tune up was done at the **************** location and they messed up one of the bolts. They are claiming that it was someone else and basically told me again that they werent not going to fix it because of the negative reviews. We are not able to take legal action as it has been over 6 months. We were just recently told this by a lawyer that specializes in lemon laws. I just want a decent car that runs fairly well if I am paying for it.Customer Answer

I came into this dealership to buy my first car recently. I have bad credit so I wanted my girlfriend to co-sign, they had her sign some paperwork and turns out, they put the car completely in her name because I didnt have the credit to finance it, but the whole reason I had her co-sign was so I could finance it in my name. My girlfriend is now the proud owner of my vehicle without my consent. I never told them that was okay, they just did it. I feel taken advantage of. I was in desperate need of a vehicle for my job, and now I dont even own my own vehicle. If they couldnt do it with her co-signing, they shouldve told me, instead of just running it straight through her and giving her ownership of a car I was buying. I would like to note that they illegally recorded my conversation with their dealer. Audio recording in the state of MA requires 2 party consent, and I was unaware that they were recording me which makes me incredibly uncomfortable. They lied about the condition of the car, told me about the degraded battery but was not truthful about the extent of it, as it barely gets me anywhere. Im a delivery driver for work, at least I was, until this car wouldnt last me a shift. I now no longer have my job and cant afford the terrible vehicle they sold me in the first place. I ask that the footage be reviewed by the business to find when I said it was okay for them to record my audio because I didnt . I knew I was on camera but recording my audio is not something I was aware of and thats a real breach of my trust and is illegal in the state of **. Its a crime. I believe it may also be illegal to lie about the condition of a vehicle before sending it out. It does not last as many miles as they said it would. The general manager was extremely rude to me on the phone as well. I will be seeking legal advice if this matter isnt resolved.Business Response

August 2024 I purchased a 2017 Highlander for ****** with putting ******* down couple weeks after driving the car I noticed a clunking noise, I brought it to them they stated motor mount they fixed it and returned it with no change to the vehicle, I then gave it back adamant it was the transmission they confirmed it was. They had my car over 2 weeks fixing the transmission I got it back in September . October 15 my car broke down I paid ****** to **** it. They said it started again it was probably because I was low on gas. I drove it home 2 days later my car stalls out on the highway almost causing me to get hit by a tractor trailer with my children in the car. The vehicle wouldnt move. They towed it Thursday. As of Tuesday I have not heard from them I call them and the manager ***** says they think it was an axel my uncle who is a mechanic said that would not cause the car to do what it did. I go down there to ask for a refund today 10/22 and my car is sitting there. No one will meet with me because I dont have an appt. There just dragging this out, I have an appt scheduled for Saturday, this car continues to be unsafe for me and my children to be in this is not ok for paying ****** for the car the car was also listed with ***** less miles I test drove it with ***** miles more they didnt adjust the price they just said someone was driving itBusiness Response

Vehicle was brought in for service and customer was given a loaner car and they are testing it out now. Exchanging is not an option this soon into the loan as the finance company usually requires 30% but the ** did them a favor. Vehicle will be returned to customer shortly.Customer Answer

This does not resolve my complaint my car has been to them 4x I have had nothing but issues with this vehicle. A ****** vehicle should not be giving me this many issues on top of putting my childrens safety at risk last week. The ** did me no favor. I have called multiple times and left messages with no response. I went down there yesterday and no one could meet with me until 4 days later this Saturday. Where I was told my next step was to ask for a refund.

Car continues to not drive correctly. I met with GM Saturday he refused a refund and was rude and condescending. Ive submitted my lemon law application as they want to have no resolutions for me.

In October of 2023 I went to Prestige in ******* to buy a 2013 ****** Highlander. I financed the vehicle through the dealer on a 36 month term. I was told by the finance manager ****** that if I made all my payments I would be able to trade in after at least 6 months of payments. I have my payments on autopay and it has been 11 months of on time payments. I was contacted via text by ***** and she told me the dealer is doing a buy back event and asked me If I wanted to trade my vehicle in. The following is pasted from the text "Id like to talk to you about buying back the Highlander you bought from us a while back. Are you still living in ************? Weve been able to buy a lot of our previous customers out of their current cars, pay off their loans, and upgrade them into a nicer, newer car or truck; often with a better interest rate and maybe even a lower payment. Does that sound like something you might be interested in?" I continued the conversation and made an appointment to go there today as advised. When I got there the finance manager told me that I owe too much on my car that they would need to send to auction anyways. They sold me the vehicle at their price and I did not miss one payment. I just want what I was told to trade the car in for another vehicle after making my payments on time. I just want what I was promised at the time of sale.Business Response

Anyone is able to try to trade a vehicle at anytime and sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Unfortunately if a customer only qualifies for Buy here pay which can require a down payment. Cars are depreciating faster as the economy and inflation get worse.Initial Complaint

Today June 13th I saw an ad online for a car I wanted .I called the business and made an appointment to come look and test drive car when I get there I never see the car they say its in back but we need to do paper work first .before running my credit I asked can I see the car before I run my credit because I didnt see it when I got here and in case Its not here I dont want anything else .I believe they bait and switched me and the car was never there because they swore it was but couldnt find it right now so I said please dont run my credit Im leaving I believe you guys lied to me about the car even being here and by the time I got home I had 6 inquires and I never signed or gave verbal permission for anyone to do anything like thatBusiness Response

Here is the vin # ***************** of the vehicle he was looking for and only way for us to pull his credit is if he physically enters it into our system. After not receiving to proper answers, the customer left. On Saturday, April 13th, we purchased a vehicle from Prestige. We made a significant down payment and turned in our previous vehicle. To date, we are still responsible for our previous vehicle as Prestige has not sent in the payoff amount. I've contacted them numerous times, they have stopped replying. I purchased a vehicle on June 28 2023 and picked it up on July 7 2023 . on August 21 I emailed the service department at prestige auto and informed them that the intake hose from the throttle body had broke they called me back and had me bring the car in on August 24 2023 which they checked and informed me that they had to order the intake hose since they didn't have it in stock so they told me they will call me once it arrived on August 29 I went back because they said that it arrived But came to find out that it was not the one for my car it wasn't a fit so they had to order another one mean while they still have me driving my car with the throttle intake broken. On Sept 1 2023 I contacted the service department to get the *** on the intake hose as well as to inform them that the tensor belt was squeaking at which time ***** ( manager for service department) informed me that my intake hose was arriving Sept 7 2023 and that they will check the squeaking then. On Sept 30 2023 the tensor belt finally snapped I notified ***** at service which he gave me a phone number to call so it can be towed. I was then contacted buy ***** that I will have to come out of my pocket with $ ***** to repair the car because when the tensor belt snapped some pieces went into the crank shaft and the warranty is only paying $3,000. Why do I have to pay when i was left driving my car with a broken intake hose and when i told them about the squeaking they didn't fix it, this is unfair and they advertise that if the car is in the shop being repaired they will give you a loaner which is false advertising because I been going home and to work In my company truck my boss let me useBusiness Response

I have a car from this auto Mart and everything was fine and I been having electrical issues for the last 3 months my car randomly dies in middle of driving , trunk opens randomly , car starts randomly with no automatic starter and I claimed it in insurance and the apprasial came out said electrical problems and gave them a check and literally its not fix I pick up my car on a Friday at 4:30 and it died after leaving the shop and I had to pay for a tow after paying $1700 what issue has been fix NOTHING. So I was insured that Prestige fix my car and its been two weeks I had my car and my car is back to square one I was driving yo ****** and my car died in the middle of the lane this is very unsafe and I have four kids in this truck and its very unsafe and clearly they didnt fix it . I took it back to the place cause the valued by car for a trade in for $13,400 and now they wont take it cause they said its a problem hes the problem is cause they didnt fix it. I got called a b**** they are very very unprofessional. Vehicle was infiltrated by rodents because she parks next to a dumpster She made an insurance claim , she doesnt have a warranty and can bring the vehicle wherever she wants. On 10/22 I purchased a 2020 ******* Santa Fe with 100 miles on it from Prestige Auto, the first month I called and complain that once driven on the highway the whole car would shake and you would be able to see objects in the car shaking and hear it, they found nothing. On 1/23 on the way to work (48 miles away from place of residence) the steering wheel fluid symbol on the dashboard started blinking, I went into the store across from my job, when I came back out the car would not turn on. I had to pay for a tow to have it brought over to Hyundia in ********** from Barnstable because the place I purchased it from stated I was out of my 90 warranty and they were not going to help me, I can use ******* warranty. ******* could not find anything wrong with the car speaking to ***** from ******** he told me he changed the battery he worked on the car, so he knows nothing wrong with the car. 4 days later my car stops working again, this time on the way to pick up my child, I had the car towed back to Hyundia where they finally found a melted fused that has been short circuiting the car, they stated that whoever changed the battery either put the fuse in the wrong way or they sold me the car with a dead battery that was jumped and fried the fuse. Vehicle had transmission trouble and transmission was replaced, the radio(while not covered under warranty) works and is operable , the check engine light came on after the warranty expired and in good faith we still made an appointment to see if we can help the customer, and if we choose to , it will be because of good will.
