I paid for an EIN and a BOI report through this company, i later found out that they are charging for a free service and within 2 hours requested to cancel my order and i would perform myself, they only refunded part of my order because they claimed WA already took their fee's. I then was waiting for my BOI report to be filled, then several week later i get a letter that i am about to be charged late fee's because the BI hasn't been filled. I contacted them 4 seperate times asking about the status with ZERO response from them. I am not wondering if i have been scammed and they're trying to steal my identity?! They charged me $100 for the BOI that i ended up having to file by myself because they didn't do it in time!Business response

This website poses as the IRS. I already have an EIN which is the service they charged me to apply for. I immediately contacted their “customer service” number, and it says I will be transferred to a representative but then hangs up on me. I have made multiple attempts to contact them via this number but it is a ****. I sent them an email asking them to cancel the charge and that I already had an EIN and did not need their services. I have not received a response.Business response

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against USA Tax ID for their misleading business practices and failure to respond to my requests to delete my personal and business information. On 7/23/24, I visited what appeared to be the official IRS website to submit an EIN application for my business. However, I was misled by a website created by USA Tax ID that closely resembled the IRS website, leading me to submit sensitive personal and business information, including my Social Security number and business details. Upon realizing that I had been misled by a third-party service rather than the official IRS, I immediately contacted USA Tax ID to cancel the order and successfully received a refund. However, despite multiple requests, USA Tax ID has not responded to my subsequent requests to delete all of my personal and business information from their records, as required under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Maryland Personal Information Protection Act (MPIPA) and other applicable privacy laws. Their continued retention of my sensitive data, coupled with their refusal to communicate, raises significant concerns about their compliance with both Maryland state laws and federal privacy regulations. Their subsequent lack of communication and refusal to delete my information further exacerbates the situation and raises questions about their business ethics and legal compliance. I kindly request the Better Business Bureau to intervene in this matter and assist in facilitating a resolution. My desired outcome is for USA Tax ID to: 1. Immediately delete all my personal and business information from their records. 2. Provide written confirmation that the deletion has been completed. I'm looking for a link to go to the IRS website to obtain an EIN number. Naturally, I googled "obtain EIN", and this website turns up (see attachment). It looks extremely similar to a government website, and its URL has all the keywords, "ein", "taxid", "us", so I think that it is a real government website. It asks for all business information, including my SSN (which makes sense, because one needs to provide an SSN for a Tax ID). I gave them all, and then was charged $249. I even thought that it's the fee the government is charging for a Tax ID. Only later, after submitting the payment, they tried to upsell me a few other business management/accounting services, that I feel suspicious, and I find out that the IRS doesn't charge anything for an EIN. I immediately called them for a refund, but they said that the transaction cannot be cancelled, and if I want to refund, there is a $75 cancel fee (see attachment). This website is indeed a ****, and it is earning money by misleading people. I need a full refund from them. I plan to dispute the transaction with my bank too, however they don't accept pending charges (the credit card transaction is still pending).Business response

On Sunday June 9, 2024, I began the process to request an EIN for my LLC. Based on the website ****************, I thought I was on an IRS website. Immediately after I submitted my request (order: **********) found the actual IRS website that warns against third-party entities requesting money to complete the EIN process. I called the phone number ###-###-#### at 11:50am Arizona time, to cancel and waited 30 minutes for someone to answer, but no one ever did. I tried the number listed on the credit card charge ###-###-#### at 12:25pm Arizona time, and same thing: no one answered. I also emailed several times so someone would see my cancellation request before processing it. Zendesk request *****, 6/9/2024 Zendesk request *****. 6/9/2024 Zendesk request *****. 6/10/2024 An additional email ticket was created, without a Zendesk number, but I have an email confirmation with all of my emailed details within. Today I called and spoke to Araceli at 6:03am Arizona time, who said she would put in a request to get my cancellation put through. I am requesting a full refund of $249 and a guarantee that all of my personal information has been cleared from their systems.Customer response

thought I was on actual IRS site did not realized it was not until my bank show BUSINESSTIN as biller for the site. I thought my card info had been fraudulently used. I want to do business with IRS not these people I immediately asked for a refund, the customer service rep said a refund would be issued be he did not have an confirmation number. I have not received the service, and I don't want the service. I want my money refunded. only a min went by from time I pay to i received bank notification and then call their customer service I'm 75 with poor eyesight that make their page look just like IRSBusiness response

On 3/28, I thought I was on the IRS website to get an EIN for a new LLC I was going to form. The website indicated that the EIN would be provided in 1-2 business days and I paid the $249 reluctantly and was then asked about adding further protection on a various of other “things that could happen if I didn’t file things correctly” which amounted to $816 total. Afterward I looked up more information realized that I had entered personal information on a third-party website. I emailed the company for a full refund as the website mimicked the IRS website and gave information that encouraged people who are trying to start a business and do everything correctly to spend an obscene amount of money on a service that is free. I am requesting a full refund and a guarantee that all of my personal information has been wiped from their database/system.Business response

This site is the first one that comes up when you search for EIN registration information. When you click on it, IRS also comes up in the website bar. Thought this was a legitimate website and paid for both EIN and LLC after receiving an email saying my EIN wouldn’t work unless I applied for an LLC. Realized after I was ******* and applied for myself on the actual sites. This website didn’t even ask for complete information for registering.Business response

On 3/18/2024, the website showed first on google to pay for the tax ID/EIN for a business. I paid $249 for the service and realized it was a free service through the IRS and immediately applied for that before calling to cancel. When I realized it, I called the number and spoke to the lady who said I would receive an immediate full refund but I have nothing to show that the order was cancelled nor that I was receiving my refund. The order has not even been processed yet and could've just been cancelled at that moment. I want all my personal information wiped from their entire database and not sold to a third party affiliate as I am not granting permission, and I need confirmation to show that they are agreeing to not do to.
