This is regarding the renovators/flippers of my new townhouse, the Dominion Group. My insurance agent suggested I contact you. I moved into a renovated townhouse condominium and had moved my insurance to a less expensive company. I had plumbing inspected, which must have pertained to the outdoor lines? The day of the move was the first flood due to the plumbing upstairs. There was no “ring” inserted and we found a metallic sponge jammed down the toilet. I need to get the ceiling fixed asap. Another flood in the downstairs plumbing due to a faulty part in the toilet ruined an antique rug, pictures etc. Also, the shower handle and the washer/dryer installations weren't properly attached. Ultimately, the only plumbing that worked was the dishwasher, but that had to be reattached. I have pictures, records and whomever you might need to speak with. So far, the cost is $5000 and counting. I still have to fix the dining room ceiling where the crack is expanding. I need to find out the value of the carpet. My insurance agent said my new insurance company will drop me if I put in claims in the first day, which is exactly what will happen. I feel the Dominion Group is responsible for the sub par plumbing throughout the house. I have bills, pictures and testimonies which I have sent them. Never heard back. Can you help me get satisfaction from them? Kind regards

I was very sorry to hear about Ms *****'s issue. We take tremendous pride in our renovation work and frequently provide a warranty to buyers who request that. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to resolve the issues that Ms ***** experienced in real time. This is the timeline, as best I've been able to recreate it (taking Ms *****'s assertions of the timeline at face value, which we have no reason to contest): - July 3 2024 - Ms ***** purchased the property - August 6, 2024 - Ms ***** experienced a toilet overflow and/or shower leak - September 17, 2024 - Ms ***** emailed *******@thedominiongroup.com notifying us of the issue. Our project manager reached out and discussed Ms *****'s issue My understanding is that by September 17th, the work had already been completed. We absolutely would have come out to resolve any issue relating to workmanship. - October 23, 2024 - Ms ***** had an issue with the washing machine drain - November 1, 2024 - Ms ***** reached out to us requesting that we reimburse her for costs. Again, we weren't contacted until after Ms ***** had already called a contractor to repair the issue. We didn't have the chance to stand behind our work. - November 21, 2024 - Ms ***** contacted our sales department and they played phone tag (unknown details) - January 4, 2025 - Ms ***** emailed our sales department - January 17th, 2025 - Ms ***** connected with our sales department and we requested documentation of the issues she experienced - January 21 & 22, 2025 - Ms ***** emailed us photos regarding the damage I share Ms *****'s frustration regarding the issue, and I wish that we had the opportunity to review the damage in real time and resolve the issues. We would have. We can't be on the hook for costs incurred before we had an opportunity to cure the issue, however. That would be a 'blank check' policy. My understanding is also that Ms ***** has homeowner's insurance (for good reason) and that these costs should be covered by that policy. I'm sorry that Ms ***** doesn't feel that she had a positive experience. We want our buyers to feel that they've moved in to a quality renovation. -Jack B*****

I moved into the townhouse on August 1st. I had to get plumbers in asap when the systems broke down. I had to move fast as each flood was a emergency. I also did not want any of your plumbers near my home. I purchased the washer dryer months later only to be told the pipes were askew. Another cost. I can’t tell you how stressful it was on moving day to have my movers yell that I have a leak through the dining room ceiling. The second flood downstairs came soon after. It took some time to get through to you and then phone tag and then ghosting ensued. As I mentioned, I have pictures, bills and several plumbers to back up my claims. I do think you’re on the hook for proven expenses due to the shoddy work. Step up and take responsibility.
