In January, 2021, BBB investigated Omega Software Solutions LLC's business practices. This investigation was prompted by complaints that allege that the business is a tech support scam.
Specifically, consumers allege that they contracted with the business to resolve virus/malware issues, and after being told that they had "been hacked" or "had pornogrpahy on their computer", they were sold additional software. Once the software was installed, they were told the software would not work on their system and needed to be uninstalled so new software could be installed. During the refund process, financial transactions were initiated outside of the control of the client, resulting in them being directed to either purchase gift cards or wire funds in thousands of dollars to correct the payment error.
