In January 2022, Capital Jazz cancelled their scheduled cruise, one week before the cruise was to leave. Guests were informed, if you wanted, your money would be refunded. I asked for my money back. The refund was to come within 90 to 120 days from Feb 2022. To date, 19 MAR 2024, I have yet to receive my refund. I have contacted Capital Jazz, numerous times (via emails and phone calls), and can barely get a response. Initially, after cancelling the 2022 cruise AND not refunding guests monies, the staff at Capital Jazz wouldn't answer their phones (only if you were scheduling a cruise). The phones are now answered, but you only get the same, standard response..."the check is coming". If you don't contact them, they will NOT contact you, even with a status update. This company has had two cruises since cancelling the one in 2022, but has yet to pay or even contact me. After all this time, I expect to receive my FULL refund, $5,150, with no deductions for credit card fees. Capital Jazz is totally irresponsible and frankly should be sued for this incompetence. My reservation # for 2022 was *******. On their website, that reservation shows as cancelled and I can't see the account or what I paid. However, my 3 prior cruise reservations are still visible on the website and I can see what I paid and when it was paid; *******, *******, and *******.Initial Complaint

I along with my roommate **** ******** paid a total of $4,520 for the Jazz Fest Super Cruise 2022. The cruise was canceled by ************ in January of 2022 via email. ************ offered two options. Receive a refund or reserve a space for the 2023 Super Cruise. Myself and my roommate requested a full refund. After many calls and attempts to contact someone at the office, I spoke to someone by the name of ***** I believe who stated that so many requests for refunds had come through that they were really behind on dispersing refunds, but that they would be sending them out. It was supposedly just going to take a little longer. Every time I called I would get the same excuse. Eventually no one would answer the phone at all. I nor my roommate has yet to be refunded. I filed a complaint with the ************************ who unfortunately has also not been able to reach Capital Jazz by telephone. We are Seniors. We have been taken advantage of and its just sad. We have waited patiently and to no avail has this issue been taken seriously. The fact that a second cruise was already underway while others were and still are looking for refunds is just plain ridiculous. I have even gone as far as contacting ******* on FOX45 and was featured on the news along with my roommate on this matter. We are just two of many. There are other people across the states who are also victims of Capital Jazz. I understand the desire of businesses to make a profit but this to me is unethical behavior.Business Response

Good Day, I have contacted multiple offices and agencies to address a problem with Capital Jazz Productions, an event-based business that has taken multiple customers' payments for a Cruise in Jan 2022, but cancelled the event and has promised to provide a refund. I paid $2810 for the 2022 Capital Jazz Cruise in full by August 2021. During that time the country was expericing the Covid Pandemic. In January of 2022 Capital Jazz sent notification that will not move forward with the cruise and provided 3 options for each patron. I chose to receive a refund. Since that time I have been following up with them for status on my refund. They had been responding until January of 2023 they stopped taking my calls and responding to my emails. See the attached documentation. I am still due a refund.Business Response

I attended a "concert" Captial Jazz Fest 2022 it ususall last 3 days. The saturday event was purchased for me as a Mother's day present from my son. I have been attending this festival for 19 years. This was the first time I was seated in the VIP section (I had a total knee replacement March of 2022, so I was not really capable of walking all the hills at the location of this fest). My son knew I enjoy going to this fest each year and suprised me with these tickets for my best friend and I to be seated 3 row back dead center of the concert. PERFECT seats except I could not hear the artist. I complained to the personnel working there and they said they would informed someone. Well it continued to get worse until I moved back to the lawn area where I watched from the monitors. I was extremely disappointed. I contacted the Captial Jazz Fest by email and phone Tuesday morning following the concert, only to speak with Betty whom was NOT very helpful at all. She stated she would talk to management and upon her return call she said there was nothing they could do, that I should have informed them at the time of the problem. I explained to her I informed the people I saw wearing the blue shirts, she informed me that they did not work for her company but for the pavilion. I ask Betty if I had ever met her, she said no, so my question then how would I know who worked for who? Any reasonable person would approach the person in a uniform claiming to work at the facility. I am only asking to be compensated for something. 575.00 is a lot of money to me to just let go to waste. So I called again today unfortunately I spoke with Betty again, whom stated I took care of this matter and said there is nothing we can do. I don't believe that to be fair or just.Initial Complaint

I was schedule to go to Capital Jazz Super Cruise in January 2021. It was cancelled due to Covid. I rescheduled for January 2022, that to was cancelled due to Covid. I elected to get a refund instead of going January 2023. I was told I would receive my refund by May 2022. It is now January of 2023 and I have not received a refund. When I call to check on the refund, I was told it's a slow process and to be patience. For the last 4 months I can't get anyone on the phone. I get a recording. I left my phone number, emailed and still no response, This was close to $3000 each for me and my roommate. I don't know what to do. They shouldn't be able to keep my money when I didn't attend the cruise. My roommate (******* *****) and I would appreciate any assistance from you.Initial Complaint

My family and I were scheduled to take the Capital Jazz Supercruise last year. It was cancelled due to the CDC restriction on sailing. We were given the option to request a refund or move our cruise to the following year. My family opted for the refund. We were told that our refund was to be expected by May 2022. We've yet to receive said refund. All attempts to inquire about refund are met with either lies, disregard, our radio silence. All of which are not acceptable. All employees give the impression that ownership knows they owe people their refund, but they are ignoring requests for updates or express refunds. I have been diligent about contacting and emailing regularly. I'm at the end of my rope as it has been a year almost to the day that we are promised said refund. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciate. Thank you!Initial Complaint

Me and my friend have been waiting for our reimbursement for a cancellation of a cruise that should have sailed jan 2022. Capital JazZ canceled and gave us an option of booking for future sailing or money back, we chose money back. Several people we know have received their refund, but we have not. Capital Jazz is still in business and they even have a sailing going out this month. They no longer return our call or emails, please help.Initial Complaint
