Signed up in April or May for Bally Sports for $19.99 a month to watch baseball. Very easy to sign in and start a subscription. Now I am trying to cancel the subscription and there is no option to do so. It's like that is not an option. This service is specifically not including cancelation information on their site so customers don't have that option. When I googled how to cancel a Ballys subscription, there are a few options that pop up that you can pay to cancel the subscription for you. Why do you need to go through a third party? Because Bally makes it so hard to cancel it has created a whole new industry to help people cancel the subscription. That should be illegal. They are purposely making it difficult so people will just give up and keep paying the subscription.Initial Complaint

Bally Sports continues charging for services canceled 3 months ago. They say they have no knowledge of that even though i have an email from them. Then they tell me to cancel in the same way i already canceled. I want 3 months of subscription fees back. There customer service is horrendous. They sent me an offer in July of 2024 that was good thru April of 2024. I ask how much for the reduced offer they never gave an answer. Not good.Business response

On 5/29/24, Mr. ******* emailed us his request to cancel, but did not confirm his information as part of our account verification process. This is to ensure we cancel the correct account. However, since Mr. ******* stated he only watches the NHL, we will refund the charges requested totaling $59.97.Customer response

I did a free trial subscription to the Bally streaming service and cancelled prior to the renewal period. Despite the subscription expiring on June 4th, I was charged for another month on June 5th . I have provided screenshots as proof of cancellation from both the Bally website and *****. Bally customer service confirmed there should be no fee. The subscription was through *****, but the money was sent via ******, so I sent screenshots of the ****** transaction information, including the transaction number, so that they can track the payment. I originally reached out for a refund on June 5th, the day I was charged, to get this resolved. It is now June 25th. I have sent 10 emails to support at this point. I’ve been bounced around to multiple people and been asked to provide the same information multiple times. I’ve also had an email completely ignored for more than two weeks, despite receiving the confirmation my message was received and would be responded to in 24 hours.Initial Complaint

Cancelled service. Received confirmation of success on my screen (which I thankfully screenshot for my records), they billed me anyway. I contacted them multiple times but they denied that I had cancelled so I had to cancel again to work around their system errors, then I shared the proof of prior cancellation but they did not refund the mis charge.Initial Complaint

Bally sports offered free 7day trial to rent app on line.on phone, which I did, gave them my bank account debit card number etc , they took the money out of my account but their app never provided the cavaliers game I was purchasing the app for, for they had removed from ******* who assume allows them to stream their product it never did, then I tried to cancel my account with bally and their path for cancelation does not work and I guess they'll be taking my money again next month and never providing the service or path foe cancelationBusiness response

Under the account tied to the email address *******************, Mr. ******** card was rejected by our billing system for insufficient funds. This is why they never received the subscription entitlements to watch the Cavs games. However, since Mr. ****** claims they did get charged, if he could provide the last 4 digits and exp. date of the card charged we can search for any additional accounts with that payment information.Initial Complaint

I am 75 years old and not computer savvy. When I am in Kansas City, I enjoy watching the Royals play on TV. The only way to do that here is through a cable subscription or the Bally's app on *******. I subscribe to ******* TV, so I have to buy the Bally Sports app. So, I have to go through the Bally's monopoly if I want to watch Royals games in KC. I purchased the Bally's subscription on April 8, 2024, but immediately began experiencing buffering, delays in the broadcasts (one game in particular had been over for 10 minutes, but the Bally's transmission was still in the top of the ninth inning), audio not matching the video. After contacting Bally's twice to try to rectify their problems (my ******* TV, ****+ and ****** ***** Video work perfectly, so my equipment is not the problem), I cancelled that subscription on April 14, 2024. Still wanting to watch Royals games when I am in KC, on May 23, 2024 I contacted Bally's to see if they had solved their delayed broadcast problems in my area. They assured me they had solved them, so I purchased a new subscription on May 23, 2024. The same problems immediately occurred with my new subscription. On May 25 and 26, 2024, I contacted their customer representative chat line. Both times, I was given a lengthy list of steps I needed to do, which I advised them several times that I did not know how to do them. I asked Bally's to send out a technician to resolve their problems, but an insolent "customer representative" continually directed me to do this lengthy list of steps. She also stated that my Internet speed might be low, my TV might be outdated and that I should get a **** technician to come to my home, none of which made any sense because my other subscriptions work perfectly with my TV and Internet service. It was a horrible, 45 minute experience. To top it all off, the customer rep told me my service would be cancelled on June 2, 2024 and "after careful consideration of your situation", a refund would not be issued.Business response

Bally Sports has a digital operations center that monitors the streams of every game we air. On the specific date Mr. ******* wrote in, we did not see any issues impacting the KC Royals game. Mr. ******* was given steps on how to troubleshoot the issue and was asked for more device specific information to help diagnose the root cause. Our support team was not able to help him as he was not cooperative.
However, the support representative did not provide the correct policy in regards to Mr. ********* refund request. He contacted us within our refund policy window from his time of purchase. To resolve this, we have refunded the subscription in the amount of $84.99. The funds will be reflected in Mr. ********* bank account within 5-10 business days, depending on their bank.

I am rejecting this response because:Bally Sports fails to acknowledge the fact that all other streaming apps were working perfectly at the same time, that it failed to provide a technician to resolve its problem and the insolent attitude of its customer service representative.

This complaint involves gaining access to televised MLB games, specifically Cincinnati Reds games. After a recent move, we selected ********* as our tv provider using the ****** Chromecast device. Primary factor was ********* was awarded the *** package. Access to Reds games was a challenge because they would be blacked out on ******. No local tv providers had the *** service. So, we were looking for a streaming baseball solution. I know Bally is a sponsor of the Reds because the commentators the Bally logo. So, I looked at their service. If you look at their website ****************, it warns that Reds on Bally Sports Ohio is offered by TV provider only. It then says where to get it. At the end of that list, it says "Or, Get BallySports+" and offers a button to subscribe (images of web page attached). I checked, and BallySports+ was an app available on Chromecast. Perfect, right? BallySports+ must be better than Bally Sports Ohio and beyond "TV Provider" options. So, I signed up and paid $189. Using our ******** internet credentials, occasionally we get service. Other times, we get an error about user token authorization. BallySports customer service says they don't offer MLB beyond TV providers. That conflicts with "Or, Get BallySports+". It appears I've fallen for a false advertising campaign. When asked about a refund, Bally claims I need to approach ****** because I signed up through the app. No, ****** didn't commit the false advertising. ****** delivered service. The payment process in which Mr. ****'s subscription is tied to is ****** Play which is why our support team directed him to contact Google. We have connected with ****** and provided Mr. ****'s information and a refund should be on the way shortly.
Additionally, in the first attached image shared by Mr. ****, we state that "Reds games and related content are not currently available on Bally Sports+." The "Or Get Bally Sports+" option underneath does not override the previous statement. It is there for fans of the other teams listed without this restriction.
We are continuously negotiating with MLB in order to get the digital streaming rights to allow the Reds to be available on Bally Sports+ in the future. It is our mission to end blackouts for all fans within our scope.

**** is an extremely bad app to stream sports and has no customer service. They have a 1.1 rating with the BBB and are no accredited. This is not good for ***** ******* fans.Business response

Based on Mr. ********* zip code, there are several other providers that offer Bally Sports in their area. These include ******* and **** Broadband. I activated a subscription with Ballsports Plus (Streaming) on 4.22.24. Previously, I let a free trial expire. Bally's did not provide me with a receipt. I checked my Spam Folder as they suggested. Signed up for the free trial trying to stream sports but the service did not work as when you create your account it locks your "home zip code" that you cannot change, this home zip code was wrong and I couldnt use the service because of this. I cancelled my subscription while still in the free trial and tried to get it to work on two other accounts but it still would not work. After I could not get it to work I cancelled all 3 free trials and sent in a request to delete my accounts. As of april 4th and 5th my accounts still are not deleted and I was charged a months subscrition for all three accounts totalling $59.97. The Bally sports service does not work and they failed to cancel my accountsBusiness response

Our records show that Mr. ********* account under the email address *******@gmail.com was cancelled during the free trial and before he was charged. If there are additional charges tied to other email addresses, please have Mr. ******* share them with us so we may investigate.
