Contracted for initial tx and follow up 12 month period bi-monthly txs. Called to cancel a couple times by phone and was told it had to sent via email even though no email was provided to Senate at sale. Continued to be charged the monthly payments. Called again today and got heated when they continued to tell me they wouldn't cancel without it being in writing. I said I was calling to cancel and wanted a refund for them NOT servicing my house the last several months. I wouldn't email as I never provided it to them. It was repeated that they would not. Because I used the word "****" and maybe "********" a couple times, I was hung up on. Called back to speak with manager who proceeded to tell me he would cancel but I would be charged a cancelation fee. Told him (****) they could take it from the funds they've already taken. They have not treated, not even the exterior as they kept telling me was done. He told me they couldn't do that and I would be billed for it and if it wasn't paid it would go to collections. Not a happy consumer.Business Response

07-24-2023 $325 was paid I hired them to get rid of the on-going underground warps issue I'm requesting for the full refund! Account # ******** Service wasn't provided as promised! -- I initially stated to their inspector that I had tried all possible method during the 4-5 years dealing with the problem but issue still existed. And that inspector had promised me that whatever they were going to use the issue would be gone away and wouldn't come back. However, throughout the entire treatment period not only didn't really getting rid of them but pretty much like waited until the season ended and treated like they had successfully remediated the problem which I had also stated that was just their life cycle but not what I was looking for. The bottom line is that why would I spent so much more money and the end result with no differences that how I normally do?!? And matter of fact they just picked out something you just get either online and/or at the counter totally not honest to me everything upfront!Initial Complaint

Hired Senate pest control to find and rid my house of snakes. Salesman, *************************, explained that the technician would locate the point of entry and prevent further intrusion by snakes. When the technician arrived the following week, he was totally unaware that there was a snake problem. He put out a couple bait boxes and left. I called and spoke with ********************* who said, "we've only been there once". On the second visit from a different technician, we asked about when they would locate how the snakes were getting in and were told we don't do that. We only put out bait boxes. We again called the company and explained what the salesman told us and what we were actually receiving from Senate Pest control. We asked to be let out of the contract so that we could contact the appropriate people who would help with the snakes and were told that additional money would be charged to cancel the contract. We are retired and cannot afford to hire yet another company that will actually rid our homes of the snakes since Senate Pest Control doesn't deal with snake issues.Customer Answer

I told them we like to cancel the service.in the contract we 1-2 days to cancel it they declined the cancelation they said they already spray actisol and that initiates the service I feel like they do the spray so when customer wants to cancel they will use this as a reason not to refund the customer money.i told them they can deduct the service they have done.Business Response

We do allow 3 days right of rescission. If you decide to cancel this agreement within 3 days, we allow it. But if we do the service within those 3 days, your forgo your right of rescission. And we did do the service at the home, and you cannot cancel after a service is done.Customer Answer

When the inspector came to our house he said I will spray it with chemical that will help you guys tonight until the technician get here tomorrow. And we I’m like ok.And he told us “by the way I don’t want you to tell them or show this spray to the technician tomorrow or else I will deny it that I gave you guys this spray I’m not supposed to give you guys this hide it in the cabinet”. (PT Alpine) that cost less than 50$. And then the day of the service they cancel our appointment. That’s when I decide I don’t want their service they are not reliable. I message them I’m just gonna cancel and find reliable company. And then they told me they already initiated the service. I’m like what service?is this what they do so that the customer cannot changed their mind or cancel the service. It’s fraud/scam! How can I let them inside my house if they can lie like this. I even asked them to deduct what the cost of that chemical and service, and they declined. All this stress they are causing me because they just want to take my hard earned money as easy like that. Company like this are needs to be check/ investigate they are taking advantage of the consumer.Regards,

I scheduled a free quote with senate pest and they never showed up for the scheduled appointment. I then find out in May 2023 that I have a collections bill from ************************. When I call to pay this collections bill, I ask what company sent this to collections. I was then informed the company was Senate Pest. This was the absolute first I had heard about any bill from Senate Pest. I paid the bill with the collections group since it was negatively effecting my credit score and my security clearance. When I called Senate Pest, they refused to adjust the bill, as they alleged that a service was provided. There were no services agreed to, I scheduled a free consultation, which Senate Pest never showed up for. Senate Pest refused to acknowledge this fact, and only focused on allegations of attempted contact. I never received emails, phone calls, or mail, as they allege. I would have disputed this incorrect bill if I had received such notice. While I have disputed the bill through ******** and with ***** ** *****, I have been informed from the collections agency that the bill will still remain on my report, as it was sent from Senate Pest and is allegedly still on file with Senate Pest. I believe this free quote to be a scam and I do not want other people to face this situation. Senate Pest has refused to assist me in any way. They refuse to acknowledge that I did not receive services, and have refused to offer any documentation of alleged services. I feel scammed and I question the legitimacy of Senate Pest's alleged services. They have not contacted me as they allege, yet they sent a fraudulent bill to a collections company. I am disputing this with the collections agency and with ********, but I wanted to report Senate Pest for their illegitimate business practices.Business Response

She contacted Senate Termite and Pest control on 8/29/22 and wanted 1 mosquito service for $89. This is what we have done.We have reached out several times to **************** to pay this. We have sent multiple emails. She said she was not paying this so we sent here to our collections department.
Thank you.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:Senate Termite and Pest Control's response was inaccurate. I NEVER spoke with Senate Termite and Pest Control regarding my alleged bill, therefore I could have never made the statement that I would not be paying the bill. So this is a blatantly false statement, which lends itself to the pattern of false statements and deceit.
Additionally, to reiterate what I have emphasized throughout all correspondence with Senate Termite and Pest Control, this complaint, and with the collections department, I never received any services. I requested a quote for their mosquito service, nobody from Senate Termite and Pest Control ever arrived on the set date and time, and I did not follow up to hire Senate Termite and Pest Control due to this missed appointment. I see the attached invoice in their response, however that is not documentation of any actual services provided at the residence. This lack of documentation makes sense, because there was no service to document.
I have also not received any communication regarding this alleged bill. I was unaware of this alleged bill until I contacted the collections agency on my credit report. And even then, it did not list Senate Termite and Pest Control. The collections agency gave me a list of companies that it could have been with and Senate Termite and Pest Control was the only that I had ever had contact with. I paid the bill with collections immediately during my first call to them. I then contacted Senate Termite and Pest Control in efforts to understand why there is a bill with their company. As I spoke with more and more employees (over many days and many calls), it was very clear that this was a fraudulent charge. Every time that I called Senate Termite and Pest Control this situation felt more and more like a scam. I was hung up on many times, I was told that I would receive a call back many times and have never once received a call back from Senate Termite and Pest Control. I was given the run around and this is what led me to file with the BBB.
In summary, the problem is not the alleged $89 bill. If this was in fact a true and honest bill that I received from Senate Termite and Pest Control due to services received, then I would absolutely have paid this bill. However I was never contacted about this alleged bill. I was only aware of the bill when it was shown on my credit report. Upon contacting Senate Termite and Pest Control I was told different stories, was never provided any proof of services, and have now experienced blatantly false statements. As I have already paid the bill with collections, I have very little hope of receiving a refund from Senate Termite and Pest Control. I am more concerned with future customers that would also be victim of this scam. I hope that their practices are investigated and customers are protected against this company. Thank you for your time.

MAY19 DAY OF WORK. Contracted Senate Pest Control to complete bat exclusion (bat removal and guano, remove and haul away existing plywood flooring in attic, rescreen gable vent and other entry points. disinfect and sanitize all areas in attic. I also sent additional pictures to Kris G****** of entry points and he said don't worry everything would be sealed. While the work was being completed the employee started complaining because the salesperson did not advise them of the extent of the work. They came in with a can of foam and told me that was what they were using to see the entry points. After they left they did not clean I had wet debris and dust on my wood floors, doors, walls and dust was all over my cloths even in my living room and found bat bugs in the upper level. That night my a/c stopped working I had to call emergency AC company who could not fix the problem because my a/c lines were frozen and the ducts and air filter was caked with dust. The a/c guys said they should of turned off AC and cover all the intake vents- they did not. The hose they were using to pull the bat guano and old installation had duck tape and not sealed - meaning all the bat guano and installation was all over my house. I had to then get all my ducts cleaned and sanitized prior to turning on my A/C (2weeks). Then Senate came back out to set off insect insecticide to get rid of the bat bugs in the attic and all bedroom and bathrooms. To prep I had to remove all items from all bedrooms and bathroom and have all cloths washed/dry-clean. After I than disinfected all selves, dressers, bathroom cabinets. I still have bats and Senate will not return my calls. During all this time I had to slept on the couch for two weeks and was not able to go in office because I had no proper cloths to wear to work. I would like reimbursement all of the above that I had to pay out of my pocket. I want to hire a different company fix the repairs that never did and be reimbursBusiness Response

I pay for a termite treatment back in June 30, 2020 and I have been renewing the warranty year over year. I received a call from Senate Pest Control on Tuesday stating that they wanted to come out to see if I had any termite activity. Scheduled a appointment for Wednesday, May 18 and no one ever showed. I called the afternoon of May 18 and scheduled another appointment for May 20 at 10 AM. I received a call on May 19 around 10:50 AM stating that my appointment for the 20th had been canceled and that my area was no longer being serviced . I asked what should I do because its been almost a year of no one coming out to check the current status of this termite system is sure that I dont have termites. I was told that nothing could be done and that my area was not being serviced and that they could not renew my warranty . I am currently under warranty until June 30, 2020 and I am not getting any sort of resolution. This company has disappointed me on numerous occasions and have not stood behind their word.Business Response

**************.
I apologize for missing the appointment. But you are correct. We do not service that area any longer. We had to make the decision not to service Hagerstown any longer due to the fact that it is over 50 miles away from out office.
You did not have any sort of termite system around the outside of the home. You did have a standard 1 year termite warranty. That means, we will get out there in 1 year to inspect the home for termites. If we find termites at the property, we will treat them for you at no cost. What I can offer you is to get another termite company out there to do the inspection on Senates behalf. If they find active termites, we will stand by the warranty and we we pay for the treatment of the home.
So once again, I am sorry we do not service that area. But the warranty stands. If active termites are found when another termite inspection is completed, we will pay for the cost of the treatment.
Please call **** at the office to set this up.
Thank you.

*** *****. Per the agreement between you and I above. Senate was to pay for the termite treatment if termites were found. Since no termites were found, there is no reimbursement.
You had paid for the termite warranty with Senate Termite and Pest Control on 6/23/21. Per the terms of the contract. If termites are found at the home, Senate Termite and Pest control will treat the home at no additional cost to you. Since the termites were found at the home, the contract with Senate Termite and Pest Control is over.Although Senate is happy to reimburse you $50.
Please let me know how you would like to proceed.
